Why I’m Actively Rooting Against The SEC

There are 7 teams I actively root against in the NCAA Tournament:

1. UCLA- obvious, no more titles!!
2. UNC- Started in 1977 Elite 8 game when Dean Smith called Rick Robey an SOB and we had to endure that HORRIBLE 4 Corners Offense. That school is the biggest FRAUD in all of college basketball!!!
3. Duke- Just can't stand all of the CONSTANT gushing over that program and their ANNOYING players
4. U Conn- After losing to them twice in Final 4's and their HORRIBLE fan base, the newest member on my list
5. The Dirty Birds- NUMEROUS reasons
6. KU- 2nd to UK in wins so ALWAYS want them to lose
7. Arkansas- Just added this year and will be on it as long as Cal is there

After the way the SEC treats UK, I will pull AGAINST ALL of those teams too!!!!

WOW, didn't realize my list was that long!!! 😁 😁 😁

I will never understand the "root for your league" mentality. I spend the entire year rooting against all SEC teams except Kentucky. Why in the world would I root for them in the Tournament?
It helps seeding and who wants to see UK beat up on weak teams. Pope needs to out recruit the rest of the coaches in the conference instead hoping for the coaches to recruit 3 stars, that doesn’t help us at all

Especially now that they’re these huge 16 plus team super-conferences that are all about the money.

So I’m supposed to feel some sort of special kinship with schools like Oklahoma and Texas? Well, sorry, I just don’t.

Greg Sankey should be viewed as a Sports Terrorist who is out to destroy the Conference. He has less "juice" than Mitch Barnhart at a Kendrick Lamar concert.

The GARBAGE Section of the Conference has proven to be garbage. But not before they were allowed to mug/beat the living **** out of the upper tier teams so each team suffered injuries where significant players missed games. Well Done Greg--and let's not start with the cuckold he was made to be with the TV deal compared to the Big Ten. Throw in the fact they bent him over with CFB Playoff--Greg's having quite the year. His battle cry of "I got 14 in" will fall on deaf ears. This guy could do the unthinkable and F*** up CBB/Softball too. Give him time.

1.) Every SEC team that wins games in the NCAAT strengthens their own portfolio. This will attract more recruits and portal prospects that we may be targeting.

2.) The league has been far more physical that what should be permissible. Poor postseason performance as a league could cause the league to prioritize a cleaner game, which could lead to a tighter whistle and potentially less contact injuries.

3.) They don’t love us back.
100% with you!

Rooting for the SEC to do well makes our performance in it look even better if SEC dominates in the tournament.

Outside of the fact that the SEC teams beat the shit out of UK football, how does the SEC treat us badly.

Scheduling
SEC Refs in general
Taking the BBN for granted even though we FILL up the SEC Tournament
No where NEAR the preferential treatment given to Bama and UGA in football
Or the way the ACC AND the Big 12 treat DUKE, UNC and KU

Just to name a few.

I hope we have 75 or 100% of the final four. There is not better recruiting mechanism than to say our conference owns college basketball.

The SEC refs never miss an opportunity to hose the football team, if we're playing a SEC power. They also screwed us with the 2024 and 2025 schedules, gave us disproportionately difficult games while other teams, for example, Missouri, get it about as easy as it can possibly be against a SEC schedule.

You mean like making us go to Bama, Texas, and Ole Miss in the same season? Lol

I doubt more than 5 peope remember how the "sec" support stuff started the way it's been.

I remember the moment clearly. I remember the thing that kicked it off....the sec chant, even the creation and origin of the chant.

It was right after the 2007 championship game. The LSU players were surrounding a blue SEC sign and started saying "SEC" over and over again.

From thst moment it birthed SEC homerism and it's cheering squad. It's been almost 20 years and still going fairly strong.
