What round does Kansas get knocked out in?

Yea he was very underrated off that bench. He was big in the Final Four for them. Just going from memory but seems like he hit several 3's in the title game.

It's a bad memory so I try to block it out. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Actually, I was down at Disney World and only watched the end of that game. 2013 wasn't much fun around here.

Yea I can understand. Your feeling was probably how I have felt in the past watching UNC win the title. And it is not a good feeling..I have a little bit of a "what if" view of that season. Making the elite 8 is a good run but that Duke team could have gone all the way. They were rolling with a bevy of great wins (including one over that UL team)until the damn Kelly foot injury, stumbled just enough to lose the regular season and ended up the 2 seed in Louisville's region. Maybe if they are in another region and make the FF he has another week to get his early season form back. He came back very late in the season, scored 36 on that really good Miami team that won the ACC but didn't do as much after that. Probably wishful thinking though on my part since he did have surgery not long after the season ended.

BTW I hope you also went to Universal! (my favorite) Love me some Universal studios.

Impossible to predict without the bracket, and even then, almost every game could be a pick um after the first round so...I'll say Elite 8. Pure guess, no reason. Maybe they are due to make it further this year.

"Delusions of persecution."

So many posters want to pat kimo on the back, and ignore the constant shots she takes.

Delusions of persecution isn't a shot. It's the actual term for believing there is a conspiracy against you, an accusation UK fans make about other UK fans nearly every day. I suppose it does have a negative connotation though, so sorry if that offended.

As far as "she" here's hoping that's a typo and not a fourth grade recess insult.

I thought your name was Kim.

If KU gets 47 free throw attempts a game, I guarantee they'll win it all. Kiimohawk is an intellectually dishonest tool for attacking our fans after they had a 25 free throw attempt advantage at home. I am hoping for an early KU flameout so that Kiimohawk will tuck tail again and leave us alone.

The difference between this team and previous teams is the preseason tournament. KU already hit its wall it usually reserves for tourney time. Those early season tournaments really gel teams. I think we go further this year because of that. Kansas has played a lot of high-pressure games this year and come out victorious. They battle a lot more than previous teams.

I'm thinking Final Four this year and anything else is a disappointment. They've shown the ability to win in a lot of ways and have great depth.
Marking this post, lol.

I should believe the Big 12 is tougher than normal this season, why, exactly?

We're talking about a conference that hasn't put a team in the FF since 2012. We're talking about a conference that has been given 21 top 5 seeds in the NCAA Tournament since 2010, and yet only has 10 Sweet 16 appearances total during those years. We're talking about the conference responsible for these results the last 3 years:

2015- #2 seed Kansas loses to #7 seed Wichita St. By 13. #3 seed Baylor loses to a 14 seed. #3 seed Iowa State loses to a 14.

call me crazy, but i'm actually in the camp which believes that Wichita State was a superior team to last year's iteration of the Chokehawks. i think most folks who understand the game could see that 2nd round loss coming the moment the brackets were released.

i do think this year's version of Kansas is more complete and better positioned to make a run. but i also think this is one of those years when a #7 seed could win the whole thing. more importantly, if some guard decides to go kemba walker (i'm looking at you, Jamal), you might as well pencil that team (UK) in as the champion.

it will be interesting to see how March goes. but I like our chances more than KU's, to be honest.

Intellectually dishonest and attacking UK fans. uh huh.

Your team committed more fouls in regulation versus Tennessee than Kansas and yet that somehow reinforces the theory that a group of lizard officials have an anti-UK ritual at Bohemian Grove every year.

You had like, 2-3 calls that were wrong. The rest was fouling too much.

What amazing is it's not just Kansas! The Big 12 is hyped every year & they absolutely suck in the NCAA Tourney every year. Which gives grounds to believe that the conference is overrated every year.

You are right that the Tenessee game was just as terrible. But the numbers do not lie. There is no way to justify a 47-22 free throw advantage in a top 10 matchup. To imply that Kansas didn't foul just as much, if not more, than the Cats did just is not true.

If you removed Self's 2nd toupee/merkin from your face long enough to come up for air, you'd be able to admit that an epic jobbing occurred. It was a physical basketball game, but the officiating was about as lopsided as it gets. Keep spreading your b.s. if that's what it takes to convince yourself that the win was legit.

Well since you are allowed to say whatever you want to me and me disagreeing with you is considered attacking you I guess I'm kind of bound by the rules here lest I get accused of backhanded compliments. So I'll just say that conspiracy theories are created by a shadowy government agency to keep our attention off the real issue: aliens.

Let it go. You lost. You honestly have to be tired of talking about officials.

I seriously hope we draw Kansas in the tourney. Us healthy, on a neutral floor, we are the better team. Why don't you let go of UK's nuts and post in the Phog and pump sunshine up each others asses about Big 12 championships and Helm's Banners and leave the tourney talk to us.

You know what is funny, is that based on history, this thread is actually pretty factual [laughing]
I hope we meet up with UK in the tourney as well. Can't think of a better matchup to watch during March. Most UK and KU fans love talking basketball---not slinging bullsh*t. I guess good luck

I am curious...Do you enjoy talking basketball before or after you get bounced from the 2nd round?

They could lose in the second round if they get someone like UCONN.

From Sweet 16 on, it will be all about matchups, but I don't see KU being heavily favored against anyone.

I would like to see them open with an Ivy League team, two or three of those teams would be a tough draw.

Stop fouling I guess. It's like the more fouls called on UK supports your delusions of persecution rather than the idea that your team, in fact, fouls a lot.

Yeah it would be hard to expect the officials to show any brains at this stage of the season.

Man I remember a couple years ago when EKU had the Wiggins team on the ropes! It doesn't matter, Bradley, Bucknell, EKU, Ivy League team...As long as they can fellate those BIG12 championships every year, they forget about last seasons early exit and go on thinking they are elite.

Do Kansas fans wake up every day saying "Ok, time to scour every corner of the internet to see if someone says something bad about us"?

It's not exactly a stretch to think Kansas will bow out early. Self clearly isn't a strong tournament coach, for whatever that reason may be. And it's not like Kentucky fans are the only ones laughing. EVERYONE who enjoys college ball cracks up about Kansas and the tournament.

Do you know how many forums I go to, to defend Kentucky/Calipari?

Zero.

I don't know why some of you care so much.

The foul calls Kansas gets in the Big 12 on the road & at home are exactly why they get upset in tournament so much. They become accustomed to getting 20 to 30 points a game from free throws & in the NCAA tournament they do not get those calls.

It seems like the Big 12 wants Kansas to get a high seed so they get a lot of calls on the road & at home, where as the SEC gives Kentucky nothing at home or on the road but I like it like that we may lose a few games that we should not but come tournament time we know how to play with out getting a favorable whistle.

That said, I think it's a weak enough year for Kansas to see what the 2nd weekend is all about. No reason they shouldn't walk to the Sweet16. I'm not so sure about Final4 aspirations, but not surprised to hear them lol.

It all depends on the draw. While I believe Kansas gets a favorable whistle in Big 12 play, they do not get Duke/North Carolina treatment when it comes to the NCAA. They are capable of a final four run, but if North Carolina is a 1 seed look for them to have the cakewalk bracket regardless who is the overall number 1 seed.

I hate to admit it and I hope I'm wrong but ku looks like the favorite to me. Favorable whistle or not, they seem to win the close games this year.

Coach K's been bounced in the first round 3 times in recent years.

Kentucky went like 15 years without a final four.

Nothing's guaranteed in 40 minutes of single elimination.

Nothing too surprising about KU losing to an under-seeded Wichita St team that had desperately wanted a shot at them for years.

The year before, Embiid's injury turned a final four contender into a fairly pedestrian team (For perspective, when Kentucky lost their top player/rim protector, they missed the tourney altogether).

The year before that, Elijah Johnson single-handedly blew a double digit lead in 1 minute due to foolishness.

If you have a strong hunch that Frank Mason will blow a double digit lead in a minute, or that Perry Ellis is going to suffer an injury, then yes... KU would not be a strong final four bet.

We're gonna compare not making the elusive and prestigious Final 4 to getting bounced over and over by mid majors? Gotcha..

I don't care what injury you had or how bad some player shit his pants.. Losing opening weekends time and time again, when you're "supposedly" one of the best teams, is a terrible look.

Talking to Kentucky about Injuries.. the F out of here...

You keep your injuries and maybe make a final 4.. We keep OUR injuries and Cal has 3 titles.
