No more Wimsatt

I think it was 100% Hamdan’s decision!!! Stoops gave BH what he requested to at least give his OC what he thought he needed to improve the offense.

I’ve never liked playing 2 QBs, even in specific situations. It has messed with BV’s rhythm and confidence. BV has not set the world on fire, but they messed with his rhythm in the first half when he was playing his best.

Marrow’s comments this week make it obvious they’re covering for BH. It will be interesting to see what they do with BV after the season. I predict that Brock will make someone a better than avg QB next year.
There is no OC in the world who can make a change at QB without the approval/direction of the HC. Period.

Stoops himself said WE made the decision to go with GW on the 3rd series of the game so they could get a look at how he ran the team.....AND he also said on the postgame WE made the decision to let GW have the entire second half to see what he could do with the offense.

Nice try at deflecting the offenses problem from the HC, but most fans know who has his hands all over the offense.

CMS is HC. He has the final say in everything on both sides of the ball.

I agree 110%. However, I believe BH recommended the change to Stoops. Either way, you are correct that it doesn’t happen without Stoops’ approval.

Just my guess from the outside and listening to Marrow’s comments that Hamdan feels hamstrung because he didn’t get to bring in his QB and wanted freedom to experiment. Stoops didn’t want to override his OC and let him make the call.

Again, I’m not saying BV is great. But, they’ve tried to work GW into almost every game and nearly every series. That rarely works. Maybe they wanted one QB to separate himself, but it has thrown a wrench into BV building rhythm.

I’m hoping they’re just not wanting to show their hand this early for the UT game. Not sure it will make a difference, but I’ll be disappointed if we see a repeat of QB reps this Sat.

You have to go with one or the other and stop subbing in and out. Neither are great, but both are worse when they can't get in a rhythm.

I’m not sure what lead everyone to believe that CMS could manage the development two QBs.

He has not seen the successful development of 1 in 12 years.

At some point it’s going to have to sink in with folks that CMS and his core crew of buddies that have been here cannot recruit, develop, coach, game plan modern passing game and talent.

Until they all roll out of town or allow a OC to bring in his own folks (analysts, recruiters, positional coaches, etc) and take full control…this is what we’re going to get.

LC should get a congressional medal of freedom and go down in the coaching hall of fame for what he did the two seasons he was here.

HC on the headphones to OC......run the ball, run the ball, run the ball.....

OC to HC: BVG can't run the ball. Do you want to try GW in the run game???

HC to OC: RUN THE DAM BALL!!!

HC to reporters: I don't interfere in the play calls on offense, you know what I mean??

If Hamdan is talking about playing Wimsatt then he is giving up on the passing game and is about to go full option / run. That is the only explanation as to why he would consider Wimsatt as the full time QB.
Should have happened significantly earlier once we realized the line can run block but not pass block against any team with a pulse…especially if the staff has felt all year that Brock was Liam’s QB and didn’t fit what Hamden wanted….even if BV is the better qb, if your OC doesn’t believe in him and he doesn’t fit what you want to do, then play the guy that can run the system you want to run…

All he is managing to do is complete destroy whatever confidence Brock has. It’s shameful
I don't disagree about the confidence thing, but Vandergriff has had his chances and couldn't produce. He is a freshman in a senior's body.

If Hamdan doesn't try Wimsatt then he will get even more heat for not trying. It's a lose lose.

Truth is I don't care at this point. We don't have a QB that can function behind this line anyway. If Wimsatt is a dismal failure then I would play Cutter against Murray St. and see what happens.

Man wimsatt has been a failure for 3.5 years already. This we already know. He was legit one of the worst qbs in power 5. Brock is better than him. We need to develop Brock and maybe it clicks for him. He could indeed still be here next season. Build a qb with what you have. If cutter or beau was better at this point then they would have already gotten on the field.
