Now it's his job to BUILD on that foundation, but given the injuries, only having 3 weeks to put together a staff AND a roster, being behind in the portal, all-time best basketball conference of all time, beat Duke, Gonzaga, Florida, TN twice, Miss State, etc.

Took a cobbled together lineup of mostly mid-major role players and took them to the Sweet 16. Would have been an A-, but there were multiple games where we just came out really, really flat. Something he needs to work on going forward, imo.

Solid B+. He did more with less this year. Had a makeshift team, patchwork put together. He had some bad times but mainly he overperformed. It will now be interesting to see how POPE does in the portal in year 2. No doubt he has the staff to build something very good and the whole portal in front of him and the staff.

Absolutely an A. He came with zero players. Had to assemble a staff. Not only did he advance to sweet 16, he has energized the fan base and I have no doubt that recruiting will bring us players who can compete for a title.
I get those who might give a B instead due to tonight’s lose, but anyone going lower than that is just not serious.
