Well, UK was trying to get Louisville transfer RB Peny Boone in school but admissions said no. That was just another reminder that UK doesn't care about football. What other SEC school (besides private school Vandy) would deny a big transfer? Answer: none.I wonder why academics never seems to be an issue when athletes transfer. At one time that was a big concern.
When was the last time any school declared an athlete academically ineligible?

Well I do know the staff really wanted him and admissions said no. I can’t imagine if Kirby really wanted a kid that admissions would say no.That just isn't the case, if a transfer doesn't have the credit to be eligible, or enough transferable hours no one is taking them. Lots of those type kids are done once they hit the portal. In spite of what some may think, schools aren't going to risk their accreditation for some football or basketball player.

Burrows worked out good at LSU!! Pretty sure OSU told him he was a bum!!So you take a guy who couldn’t get on the field at his old school and bring him in thinking he’ll be a top contributor here
I don’t get it

Transfers like Levis, Wandale, and Davis worked pretty well. Bossman Fat, Dare too.So you take a guy who couldn’t get on the field at his old school and bring him in thinking he’ll be a top contributor here

He’s stayed eligible in college and was admitted into UL and UCF but not at UK. Again, if this were basketball and Pope wanted him, there wouldn’t have been an issue. He literally didn't have the credit hours, that's why he couldn’t get in.

All those guys had played. I think where it gets really iffy is guys like Brock, Jantzen Dunn, Tanner Bowles, Ben Christman, etc who were 4* and absolute takes in HS but haven't played a lick in 2-3 seasons. Just hard to know what we're actually getting.Transfers like Levis, Wandale, and Davis worked pretty well. Bossman Fat, Dare too.

Transfers built the offensive and defensive strengths of the 2021 season for Kentucky.
Dunn has been hurt, Bowles is no longer with the team, Christman had knee surgery but is on XP/FG unit. All those guys had played. Although on the inverse, sometimes the FCS or G5 kids look good at their level though and just can't make the leap athletically. Portal eval isn't always cut and dry

At least AU had guys who could read, TN didn't even have that. Then you would be incorrect, after the last president and his good buddy Jim Harrick pulled their tricks UGA is not putting academics at risk for an athlete. Now if you are talking about X about of dollars to build something you would likely be correct. UF is another place with academic integrity. AU, not so much, they were put on probation and about to lose their accredation because of an independent study for football players, but was discovered by regular students and taken by practically every studen. There was no syllabus, no meetings, but a 100% grade of an A. The conference isn't out to get a member, what would be the reasoning
Peny never made it at UofL, he wound up at UCF and has gained a whopping 208 yards on 34 carries this season. Don't think he's a very good example of a miss.Well, UK was trying to get Louisville transfer RB Peny Boone in school but admissions said no. I'm trying to find out what happened with him. He hasn't played since October 5 against Florida, and he doesn't appear on their injury report. Did he opt out, quit, get in trouble, etc.?Peny never made it at UofL, he wound up at UCF and has gained a whopping 208 yards on 34 carries this season. Don't know about this past week but Boone had some carries the week before. Imagine he's been dinged.I'm trying to find out what happened with him. He hasn't played since October 5 against Florida, and he doesn't appear on their injury report. Did he opt out, quit, get in trouble, etc.?

Grumpy, did you notice TN has turned loose the Big Orange Propaganda Machine pissing and moaning about Sat's officiating? 🤣 TN is the last school who should bitch about officiating. Trying to cover for Chumlee's pissy coaching and the $8M QB's choking.
Are you sure it was him? He has not appeared in any UCF box score on ESPN in over a month and a half.Don't know about this past week but Boone had some carries the week before. Imagine he's been dinged.
Finally. It’s different if it’s a young guy. I can see that. But getting juniors and seniors who’ve never or barely played ain’t it. Especially if you need them to start and not just be depth piecesRowland alluded to this and staff was concentrating on guys from lower levels who have shown they can play.
Could've sworn I saw his name on a jersey on a couple of runs, maybe I misread it.Are you sure it was him? He has not appeared in any UCF box score on ESPN in over a month and a half.

With a few exceptions, those are the guys I would focus on.Rowland alluded to this and staff was concentrating on guys from lower levels who have shown they can play.
If Pope wanted him then grades wouldn’t be an issue. So you think Pope recruits dumb players? You must know a different Coach Pope. He’s stayed eligible in college and was admitted into UL and UCF but not at UK. Again, if this were basketball and Pope wanted him, there wouldn’t have been an issue.
Agree on Raynor but some of our problems were the snapper was awful that year. I think Raynor missed a point after or a FG but it was a bad snap.To be fair, we should have mentioned Seth Raynor who in two seasons is pretty clearly the best PK we have ever had at UK. Seventeen straight FGs, a school record, and I think he also set the longest FG made in school history, 55 yards. Had he been here in 2022, I feel certain we would have been 8-4 or 9-3, kicking directly cost us at least one, if not two games that year.
