Coen will be a fall guy in LA even though he did not call plays. This is a good time for him to move back to Lexington and fix the offense.

He's young and has plenty of time. He comes here and runs the offense(well, maybe) Make as much, or more, money and not have to live in LA.
There is no doubt Coen was totally running the offense in October-November 2021 and in the entire Citrus Bowl. He may have had a shorter leash in September.
As far as Coen - not 100% sure how those contracts are written but I doubt they have any contractual control to stop him from leaving anytime he wants for a college job. I am sure, due to his relationship with McVey, he's wanting to ensure he doesn't burn any bridges.
YES!! He could come in like the Longest Yard, or North Dallas 40! Really, is there no one but U6 fans pining for BB to come save them?

I agree. While it would be great to have him next week, I don't see a problem with him not arriving until after the Ram's season if over as long as we can announce/leak it sooner.

I think a few things are pretty clear if Coen comes back here:
1. He loves either being in Kentucky, working with Stoops, or a combination of the two. That bodes well for him wanting to legitimately stay here. He'd have other options, if he were so inclined, than us. I like having successful coaches who actually want to be here and not use us as a stepping stone.
2. Any talk of Stoops handcuffing the offense doesn't really play if Coen comes back. I doubt Coen comes back to Stoops telling him "nah, we're doing three yards and a cloud of dust". Any trust gained previously will still be there. It'll be Coen's offense.
3. On the recruiting front, Coen has more credibility now. While short, he was an NFL OC. That has value.

His account hasn’t had a post or anything since right after he left here so I assume the picture was just never changed
People have mentioned Brian Brohm. Where is he at now? If he’s at Purdue with his brother I doubt he leaves there.
He also hired Nick Mingione and has kept him about 3 years longer than he should because they are church buddies. We are the worst baseball program in the SEC.
Give Mitch some more time on that one . He’s praying on it . He hasn’t received his answer.
He is a perfect example of the Barnhart downside . From the outside looking in for people generally it’s not a good staff but I happen to have a lot of firsthand awareness of this one and that staff just isn’t good at anything they do. The closest to something of substance is Roszel. But they aren’t a good recruiting staff at identification and most importantly dealing with kids and people…they are regarded in the coaching community as being pompous. Kids on roster can’t count on what they are told. But because Barnhart likes what Mingione says and presents himself he gets to keep hanging on. He brought energy to that first team he inherited from Henderson and it worked out for that squad. But as time goes on and they have to stand on their own it’s clear they can’t do it. And he is aware that he gets a longer leash by ‘saying the right things’.
Lonnie Demaree says on another site says there’s a possibility Coen is coming back and the Graham Mertz kid that is quarterback for Wisconsin will be his quarterback.Does Lonnie still have any inside connections?
This is exactly why the Billy Clyde tenure was so short lived . It was his off court stuff that got him fired . We are very lucky that Billy G wasn’t a model citizen.
Getting Coen back would be awesome. Remember all those awesome plays he had to get Wandale open? Imagine him doing that with Dane Key and Brown.
There would be Bourbon and Cigars in the concession stand. That's for sure.
That’s not true. He hasn’t posted anything but he has been active because he has been liking a lot of posts such as Sumrall winning coach of the year.
I'm gonna file this away in the "Opinion Stared As A Fact" File.
Unless you know things others don't.... Like Stoops, Barnhart and Sumerall.
Will his contract let him? Did the guy going to Neb from the Rams to be OC leave right away?
I would bet that the Rams do have contractual control, but I don't know for 100% either.
However, if both parties agree, contracts can be amended.
Why would the Rams keep Coen from going back to UK???
The Rams offense has been PUTRID this season. I realize they have had numerous injuries and Sean Mcvay actually calls the plays, but I can't see ANY reason why he wouldn't have the freedom to leave. From what I've read, the Rams fans are not as enamored with Liam as we are.

A couple of nuggets that I found interesting. The Coens bought a bought a house a month before the Rams came calling. That should put to rest that his wife stayed on the West Coast.
Secondly, McVay is not likely going to let Coen go without a fight. From the article, McVay said he had relied heavily on Coen the previous three years and he had to find a way to get him back to LA.
Not likely, it would take a miracle at this point. Kupp is injured and really their only consistent receiver.
