I've read so much this may not be right - but my understanding is that in the instance(s) where Powell did her duties at Minardi after McGee moved to Kansas City, McGee wired her $200 and then someone else at the door gave her another $200. Which is where "Coach Mike" comes in. If you read the interview with Brandon Williams, you get the idea that the NCAA thinks Balado gave Williams $200, and that it was Williams who met her at the door and gave her that $200.DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE THE MONEY CAME FROM? I don't think McGee would be paying for strippers when he is at a new school working. Does UL have an account set up to pay for hookers? Is a booster paying for the hookers? I have not seen any of this address in the report.
Now I've heard it all This Louisville dweeb crying my Son will be heartbroken if the NCAA takes our Title..Wake up Leroy..you cheat you hire hookers you provide sex to underage prospects..YOU GET THE BANNER TAKEN...End of story Finished..Your Son can play in the streets ..Cry along with Russ Smith...The appeal is useless drag it out a few more years..When the STD that Sypher gave Pitino wears him down to a haggard old man Oops He's already there..Never Mind..
I cried when UK was busted in the 80's ....... So to hell with his son and that plea.... he's not special. He can grow up and learn people pay for their ill actions like myself and so many others had to in their youth.
I don't see anything like a definition of accountability. Empty self promotion.Accountability lies with the UL Board of Trustees. It's preposterous of the all the stuff going on over there with WhoreGate and MoneyGate that someone on the Board hasn't showed, to my knowledge, any accountability. Here is UL's "missions statement" on accountability from their site:
Accountability
Touching the lives of all Kentuckians
More than ever, University of Louisville is showing accountability in all that it does.
But what exactly do we mean by accountability?
Clearly, the university is accountable for educating tomorrow’s leaders. But it is accountable in many other ways, too.
UofL is accountable when it spends tax and tuition dollars wisely, protects and improves the environment, creates community partnerships, supports cultural and artistic endeavors, helps businesses succeed, builds healthier communities and promotes research and medical breakthroughs.
Nearly every Kentucky citizen has been affected by a program or initiative that had its beginnings at UofL. Our university is making the Commonwealth a better place to live, work and enjoy life.
That’s what we mean by accountability.
Child protective services should be called in.
The parent should have protected the kid from becoming a fan of a repugnant school.
Yep, and it's really not like a book - with a book, you can't skim or skip pages, or you get lost and miss stuff. With these kinds of things - a list of questions, answers to the questions, responses to the answers - there's a lot of redundancy. You can skim a lot without missing anything, cause you read it the first time.He read 265 pages. Not even the length of a single book. Would that be a struggle for you?
The report also explains that Williams refused to give his phone records, which prevented the NCAA from tracking down who was making the payments when McGee left. That is a huge piece of the puzzle that the NCAA could not uncover, which again shows that there were more people involved at UofL.Thanks for the breakdown! This proves two points for me.
1. The NCAA doesn't want the dirty business of a vacating the title, they want U of L as a forthright member of and in the spirit of the institution to come clean and vacate the games themselves. Basically, I could see the NCAA or other members barring U of L from the NCAA if they don't come clean on their own. This will be the new modus operandi for the NCAA I think. If all the member institutions are cool with what U of L did then amateur athletics will disappear the collegiate level.
2. U of L admitted guilt months ago. They were hoping for the best but got the worst. They are now trying to push the penalty ruling to the court of public opinion. Given the topical matter I just don't see anyone siding with them. They really need to be careful about doing more damage to their image. You would think University leadership would step up and clean house.
Eh, whatevs
FifyThis.
It's more shameful parents are commending the type of behavior shown.
These parents should tell their kids, "We should take pride in our university, but it's become a cesspool with the likes of Balognia head, Turtleneck, Crypt Keeper in charge. We should clean house, bring in men that have some sense of decency and let's go from there."
These parents...
Unfortunately, this problem tends to fall into the "human nature" category. Luckily, there are laws and many people who do the right thing on a daily basis. But the following quote almost always seems to hold true...The sad part is that this is really proving to be true in our society in general. You could add UNC****'s shenanigans to this but also most of the actions at the top of our political system on both parties. Well, you can add the world to that. China building islands and claiming them as "long standing, traditional territories" so they can overfish and mine the ocean with impunity, Russia justifying subverting its neighbors, funding and materially supporting rebels in those neighbors. USA justifying alliances with feudal leaders of arab countries that we can get to agree with some foreign policy objective, the internet being the source of obfuscation instead of promoting transparency. It is disappointing to think that I'll live long enough to see the world fall into some sort of distopian society that only a bad science fiction writer would attempt to publish, but there it is. We have few morals, no absolutes, little that we will hold fast. We have become self-serving at the cost of any moral high ground or ideals.
Sorry... feeling more than a bit pessimistic today.

Title of the movie would be Gone in 15 Seconds. Story of how short lived National Champinships are. It's what happens when you shoot for the stars and only reach the ceiling!!!

This. There is nothing left to prove regarding the players in question. The NCAA has already identified the players and, in fact, Louisville has already informed the NCAA what games they played in. But that was in earlier briefing, which was referred to by Louisville during the press conference last week. They confirmed that the ruling would impact 108 games and 15 tourney games, including the 2013 title. The 45 day thing is just standard procedure. Now that the ruling has officially been made that games will be vacated for ineligible players, Louisville must officially confirm what games the ineligible players actually played in. Again, Louisville already stated as much at the press conference last week. In short, this is just a formality. In addition, the appeal will have nothing to do with the facts -- it is solely about the nature of the penalties. You are reading WAY too much into this. It is just a procedural point, and nothing more. Whether it is a game again Northwest Directional A&M or the national title game, once the penalty of vacating wins has been determined, as a matter of procedure, the member school has to provide the list of games back to the COI that the ineligible players participated in. The ruling itself had very direct language about vacating the wins, taking down any championship banners or recognition, returning trophies, updating record books, official statistics, and websites...and even having to explicitly state WHY the record books and statistics were changed in the UofL publications.
nope...all the UL fans and zipp, just two months ago said it never happened; but if it did...it was just two or three times..I was surprised this happened on 37 occasions.
