So the question is if they are on 'probation' what does that mean? Apparently it doesn't affect any games/tournaments going forward, right?

If that's the case, 'probation' means zilch

This Blake photo clearly mimics what we've seen from Pitino

You may have just nailed it.

We all remember after Calipari started hanging Final 4 banners for us. How the UofL fans said that UK had better hang their banners with velcro so that they would be easy to take down after the NCAA busted UK for cheating.... WELL..WELL..WELL.. Who needs the velcro banners now ?

Also, I understand since Thursday that Kerry Rhodes is no where to be found. Any truth to the rumor that they are getting ready to issue an APB for the gutless coward

On footnote 26 in the Infractions report it states Louisville has provided the NCAA a chart of athletes and what games they participated in during the investigation. So both Louisville and the NCAA know the players. It is just formal process for the institution to provide in writing the players and games they participated in.

b. The institution and men's basketball program has a history of major violations as reflected by January 11, 1957, major violations involving men's basketball; November 20, 1996, major violations involving men's basketball; and September 22, 1998, major violations involving men's basketball and women's volleyball. [NCAA Bylaw 19.9.3-(b)][/QUOTE]

After reading this, it occurs to me that UL is using the old liberal tactic of blaming others for the things that they are doing. They have called UK cheaters forever. This shows that they are actually the ones with a chronic cheating problem.

Think how many times we have had to listen to their dribble about Cal's vacated FF's. Now they have to wallow in their own slop and deal with their own vacated banners and games. Karma is hell sometimes.

Their mistake was cooperating from the start. If the schools on tobacco road have taught us anything, it is deny deny deny and put all the burden on the NCAA to go and find all their evidence on their own. Unless you're Memphis; then they don't need proof, just suspicion.

Sometimes I wonder if all of this would've happened to us had Pitino stayed here. Not so much the specifics of what's been going on in Louisville, just the general feel of the program. I'm not so sure it would have because I think the Jurich influence drives a lot of it. But Pitino is also a slime ball.

Oh well, so glad we don't have to find out.

Thats correct, they are not under any postseason bans. Probation means if they slip up at all and have any significant NCAA infractions in these next 4 years the hammer seriously drops on their heads, aka death penalty.

So UofL has to stay on their toes because if they get sloppy things can get a whole lot worse

I heard lot's of rumors about his extramarital escapades when he was in lexington, as i'm sure many other people heard also.
If he had stayed longer at uk, knowing what we know now, i'd say he likely would have created some kind of scandal, maybe not as severe as what he's done at duhvill.

I think he would have eventually run afoul of some gold digging bimbo. TJ is a corrupt snake but he didn't make Ricky drop his pants in a restaurant. Of course, we wouldn't have seen the second chapter because he would have already been fired.

This is what aggravates me most. They will say things like "We have the memories of those seasons and our final four runs. You can't take that away." and, "We all know who won the title that year." Not to mention the wishful thinking of Pitino not knowing what was going on... for FOUR YEARS.
But yet, if you bring up Cal's vacated final fours, they don't count because the NCAA said so. There were valid reasons to take those away... ONE player taking money ONE time. And a high school recruit who was never actually found guilty of anything, OKed to play twice, then deemed ineligible after the fact... "Cal knew. And if he didn't know he should keep up with his players/recruits. Still his fault."
The hypocrisy knows no bounds with that group.

The Sypher thing could and would have happened here or virtually anywhere else, because Rick Pitino is that kind of human being. Only at Louisville would he have kept his job.

But only at Louisville would Bobby Petrino be rehired. Only at Louisville would Clint Hurtt continue coaching after buying Teddy Bridgewater or receiving a show cause. Only at Louisville would Tom Jurich fraud a city into paying for the college's arena. Only at Louisville could Tom Jurich pocket the money from the UofL Foundation for years and keep his job. Only at Louisville could all of this happen with no oversight or questioning from anyone in the media.

They're truly miles ahead.

Corruption usually has the upper hand, as long as you don't get caught. Jurich is the head of the snake, and has given his coaches the freedom to win at any cost.

That school will not be reformed until Jurich is gone! But in truth, hasn't UL always skirted the rules? Denny Crum had a couple of good controversies and even had an appeal that was overturned.

DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE THE MONEY CAME FROM? I don't think McGee would be paying for strippers when he is at a new school working. Does UL have an account set up to pay for hookers? Is a booster paying for the hookers? I have not seen any of this address in the report.

Yes he would have been fired for the little table top incident !! especially after the details of the "health insurance " came out

I have heard rumors (just rumors nobody of importance) that part of the reason rick left to begin with was due to affairs and the like, so yes I think some personal scandal would have hit RP had he stayed here, But I don't think there would have been any NCAA scandals because 1) he got hired here after a scandal so he had run a clean program and 2) UK simple never needed to do that after we returned as a national power, as much as we hate the 92 game, it solidified our return to greatness

Stultified? I see that game as heralding our return, rather than stultifying it...
