Hell of game. Entertaining. Anyone that watched both games loved UK’s effort. Don’t judge it by wins or loss.
Winning this game isn’t that big of deal. Could have gone either way. It will motivate UK.

Both UK and Kansas leagues ahead of Duke or MSU. Not even a comparison on level of play difference from game one to game 2.

It's time to drop all of the big early season games until Cal leaves. Just keep blowing out cupcakes and feeling better about where we are and maybe they will perform well enough after Christmas to make a run. Tired of 10 loss Cal.
Winning these games is a VERY big deal. You build your NCAA-T resume by beating ranked teams in the OOC. When you don't beat them your power rankings suffer. When that happens your seed # gets higher and thus your road to a FF gets harder.
It's also a big deal to the fans. We used to beat the hell out of ranked opponents. We don't do that anymore.

that was almost 12 years ago...... will be at the end of this season. compare it to Tubby was gone 10 years after he won the title and had a better end of his career than cal has had the last 4 years and 3 games
The losing has to stop.
We're way past "the kids tried hard" moral victory type stuff. Maybe 5-6 years ago I could buy into that, but with the program in complete freefall the only way to turn it around is start winning some games that actually matter.

Man. We just punched Kansas in the mouth. It's not like we got beat by 35 or what Duke did to us a few yrs ago. We should've won tonight but we didn't but still we should always play in the Champions Classic. This could've been a big confidence builder and maybe it still will be that we had the #1 team down by what should've been 10 at halftime but we settled for 7. We led them and was in control alot of minutes and Guys like Reed got to see what he could do against a team like Kansas. Im sure he prob disappointed in himself with that last shot but look at his numbers... Solid!
Other guys done some good shit. Other guys played like shit and we was still in it. It sucks that we lost but we the winningest mfs of all-time. We should play in it but I'd say we need to win some damn games in it too.

The year before, we beat the #1 team in the nation
Overall, we're 5-8, definitely not what we're expecting

Kansas and Duke are both 8-5
So as you can see, no one is straight up dominating. In fact, these are typically really, really good games. Why would we NOT want to play really, really competitive games at potential NCAA Tournament arenas?

If you support UK only when they are winning and criticize them over every loss, then you are not a true UK supporter! Please find another team to support if you are onlyfair weather fans. They really pissed away the last two games in almost identical fashion.
They were up 4 with 3:30 to go against Michigan state last year and lost exact same way.

So what's your point? Play worse teams? What a loser mindset. Show up, play the best, improve, and be ready to go by the end of the season. Dudes on here thinking the Champions Classic is some kind of measuring stick for college basketball dominance are just pathetic.
There's been 12 full seasons played since the first Champions Classic. Only 3 times has a Champions Classic team won the NCAA Tournament in those 12 seasons. Only 3 times.
In 2015 Duke won the NCAA Championship, but guess what - KENTUCKY BEAT THEM IN THE CHAMPIONS CLASSIC!!!! Yayyyyyy Champions Classic
And we have a losing record to 2 of 3 teams (Duke and Kansas.) Michigan State who is also 5-8 has a losing record against 1 team (Duke) and is tied with Kentucky and Kansas.
In short we have the worst record in the Classic.
From the sound of some of these posts, there are some who would apparently be okay with it
