That's not to say doing stupid crap like Ron Hudson was trying to do. We have to go to the up tempo, no huddle, 15 seconds between snaps playbook.

Oregon, TCU, and Baylor have combined for exactly one top 20 class since 2010. We have out recruited TCU and Baylor the past 3 seasons. All three would arguably boat race every team in the SEC.

We have no chance and never will if we line our 3 star recruits straight up against the rest of the SEC's 5 star recruits. If there are any football purists that want to sit here and say we should try to compete in the trenches with these teams, then you will continue to witness mediocrity at the corner of cooper, alumni and university until they put you in the ground.

I thought we got Shannon Dawson so we could have a slow, pro-style offense?

This is the kind of thing I preach, but 90% of this board is convinced that if we don't have 4 star everything, we will never compete in the SEC.
Fact is, that's not true.
We have plenty good enough recruiting to win any SEC game, our coaching and play-style is the key from next season, on.

Stoops said the goal of the offense is to run 80-85 plays per game.

Yes, I am encouraged that Dawson has run a system that has been top 25 in terms of offensive plays per game during his time at WVU and top 5 last year.

Loom at Baylor under briles. Ranked 75 or worse in terms of offensive plays his first 2 seasons. 4-8 both years .Ranked top 5 the past 4 years and has averaged 10 wins.

I know you have to be able to move the ball to be able to run plays, but once you get to that point the only way we can win is to run 85 plays a game.

Oregon Baylor and TCU are not doing it in the SEC so it is not a fair comparison. I agree with the approach but to make a straight comparison is foolish. Recruiting below the other teams can not win you 8 SEC games. Ask the Ole Miss, MSU, or AU. I don't think any of the three would beat all of the SEC teams they would have to play on either side.

No? I recall seeing TCU obliterate the top SEC defense, that absolutely smacked a lot of SEC teams this season.
Oregon made a joke out of Florida State, who despite what you may say, has won all of their games, including their game against their SEC rival, and a Georgia Tech team that beat Georgia and Mississippi State.
TCU has recruited poorly as opposed to US, and they embarrassed Ole Miss on both sides of the ball.
Facts are facts, up-tempo, unconventional offenses thrive against defenses, especially defenses that almost always see pro-style offenses because that's more or less the standard offense for the SEC.
Teams will do a lot better on defense against an offense that has been around since the beginning of football, as opposed to a new breed of offense, that if ran right, nobody has figured out how to effectively stop up to date.
