Want a good laugh?

ir is comical. but also kind of sad.
if cal had played his cards right he imo could have been kicked back in a AD or some kind of a GM role at uk. and been beloved forever. but his ego cost him his job and his fans

Cow would have NEVER been "beloved forever" anywhere, much less at Kentucky. Cow laughs his way to the bank and is good at it. He will milk whatever for all it's worth. The ONLY thing that saved UK was Cal getting caught negotiating. Cow's current trend is downward. If not for AD and Co. Cow's tenure at UK would have been a complete bust. The 2012 title salvaged him being a complete failure.. EXCEPT for his bank account...

Disagree somewhat.

The run we went on during his early years compared favorably with any of our previous coaches.

Unfortunately, Cal stayed here about eight years past his expiration date. 2015 broke him, IMO.

To be fair the 2017 and 2019 teams were pretty solid. And both very close to making the final 4. But after that it was a disaster

No one EVER said anything about Cow's recruiting. Cow had so much talent his teams won games in spite of Cow. They were that good. Cow can't coach water draining and get it right. The water would spin the other way or he'd plunge the running water to stall the drain speed. Yeah that is how obtuse his coaching was and I am a complete novice in basketball.

Thank god he saved us from having to watch this team minus Aidoo, Davis, and add Quaintence and Cyril. Woof.

They are delusional if they thought for a second he was coming in and be resurrected by to his Cal UMass/Memphis/2010-15 UK days.

There is no way in hell that would have ever happened. He was pretty much universally hated throughout the athletics department. He is also totally disorganized. He would have been an epic failure.

Cal will have a Tubby trajectory type career. Great coach at a couple smaller schools then got to UK and we made him the household name he is now winning his one title and is at the top of the mountain. Then will go to a lesser big D1 school and not live up to what he did at UK and step down from that school to a real small school close to his coaching roots to just "coach" a couple more years and a couple more million and ride off into the sunset. But the Cal/UK from 10-15 is gone just like the Tubby from 98-05 is and will never reach the level he had here.

The great thing is Pope has done the smaller school success story and now he's at the start of his big run to the top like all coaches have at UK and we get to watch it all happen again. Except for BCG.
