Any updated news on Aime who is visiting UK this weekend? He's a highly regarded JUCO DT who could possibly play DE. Was committed to Miami at one time. Would be nice if UK can reel in he and Kobe Smith.

I am confused by this statement. Wouldn't the loss of Provitt make the staff push harder for a DT commit? Or are you saying that with the loss of Provitt and the staff seemingly focusing on Smith, it appears that they prefer Smith over Aime?

Me too. Actually Provitt/Smith probably has nothing to do with Aime as they could play different positions. If the staff feels Aime could be a Z-type DE they could very well shoot for both Aime and Smith.

I'll do my best to be more clear. We found out several days ago that Provitt wasn't going to make it. You can rest assured the staff knew before we did. Up to that point the staff had interest in Aime to play either the DT or DE position but our rides are limited so the loss of Provitt creates a big hole at NT as Lewis is leaving. We would only have Elam and Hyde returning next season and the position would not be bolstered by a returning RS Frosh in Provitt.

About that same time I got word that Aime tried to commit but the staff wasn't accepting it at that time so...

Recruiting priorities change all the time. It is my belief that a Juco that projects to a position(s) that will have the likes of Meant, Dubose, Miggins, Middleton, Daniel and Looney available became less of a need than a position that will have one full-time (Elam) and one part-time (Hyde) player returning with the only addition of Cross. Therefore the addition of Smith (or another guy that can play Nose) would become priority so that of the two, (Cross and Smith) it's much more likely one will be capable of playing some as a true Frosh.
