I didn’t realize Kerr Kriisa was in the portal. Not sure why he wants to leave Arizona as he was doing damn well there … but, hey, I guess that’s just what players do now in this portal/NIL money era.

Wheeler is better then this fan base thinks. We still playing if Cal made him play.
Yeah I expect him to have a really solid year wherever he goes. He was a really bad fit with our roster this past season. He looked great at times his first year here during that stretch where TyTy and Grady were healthy and hitting on all cylinders, and was fantastic in some of our bigger games vs. UNC and UT. His effectiveness is very dependent on the makeup of the team around him
I really don't want Caleb Love because he's someone who HAS to be the #1 scoring option and has terrible shot selection and hurt UNC in a lot of games this year. I don't trust Cal to get him to buy in to a lesser role. He had a great run in the 2022 tournament, but really he just got extremely hot hitting the same bad shots that hurt them this year.

Wheeler is a top portal pt guard maybe we could get him. A top player, it would be a win.
I’m guessing incoMing portal desires are: 1) Shooter. 2) PF/C (Preferably someone that can bang defensively, but offensively stretch the floor.
With incoming guards, plus probable return of Reeves, I don’t see any top end guard transferring to UK. Top players don’t transfer to ride the bench or play a very limited role. As is always the case with us, some of these questions will not be answered until summer (or later.) Does Dillingham make it to campus. If so, Dillingham, Wagner, Reeves, Shepherd doesn’t leave many available minutes. Still think we need another shooter, but shooters want minutes. Thiero may have to be the wing off the bench.
Does Ugo come back? I’m guessing the Livingston decision will come down to the last minute with him waiting on a commitment from NBA team.
Ware can bang defensively if Ugo doesn’t return, but he can‘t hit the ocean if he’s standing on the beach. Bradshaw can stretch the floor, but we’ll need another big man who can guard the paint. Again, I think younger players transfer to get playing time. Just my guess, but I think our transfers are more like the traditional grad transfers who are specialists looking to play at a recognized school. I would be happy with another Sestina/Julius Mays type transfer.

Wheeler is pure pg who will thrive/struggle based on who’s around him.
I think he can cause teams headaches if the floor is spread. He’s quick and one of the fastest players I’ve seen from foul line to foul line. He looked great during our best stretch last year.
He struggled mightily in half court with Oscar anchored in the paint. He can’t create offense for himself because of size and inability to consistently shoot. End of shot clock scenarios were disasters waiting to happen.
I could see him driving UK crazy if he went to a Vandy type team. But, he HAS to be on team that spreads the floor. I wish the kid the best. I thought fans brutally blamed him for things this year that were not completely his fault.
I don’t know if it was this team but I thought Wheeler was horrible this year. I have always hated his lay up or what ever you call his shot. He couldn’t hit a lay up this year. We were terrible this year when he played. UGA didn’t do much when he was there. He should of played like 5-10 minutes per game max. I agree on ware if our bigs are leaving get on this Ware kid.
Whoever we get, IF we get anyone, I just don't want Cal PROMISING playing time to get them. When Cal prioritizes that above all else, we suffer.

Love is a black hole volume shooter, there is no way he will come here anyway with Wagner and Dillingham and I would hope Cal wouldn’t want him. He will go somewhere he can get unlimited minutes and shots. Check out the Florida International transfer, nice shooting guard.
Freshman commit RJ Johnson had decommitted from Ala. 6’2 Pg. Best player in Alabama. We could use him. But my guess is he is quick and can beat his man off the dribble and he can guard like crazy,so there is no way Cal would consider him. His precious 5 stars have been promised all the minutes. Screw Cal.

We signed 3 freshmen guards that are better than him.
I would say 75% of Cals 5 stars didn't need promises, they played because they were the best players on the floor for either team.
So he’s better than he’s shown in two years. And forcing him to play was the key to getting farther in the tournament.
Did you watch the St Peters game? That was Wheeler in the tournament being Wheeler.
Not really. We always have a short roster and this kid is probably good enough to play here. But Cal won’t give him a chance because of Wagner and Dilly. Can’t have too many good guards.
You don’t know how good this kid is. Have u ever seen him play? I would bet, no. Cal promises these kids all the time. If u don’t believe that, then I don’t know what to tell you. Can’t have too many good guards. No player needs to be playing 35 minutes per game. Injuries have decimated us the last 3 years and we had no answers. Hope that helps you understand.

I'll give you those two but Whitney was only a short lived experiment.
I think he is better what many believe, BUT not what our team needed ESPECIALLY once injuries hit us last year. And this year I think part of his problem was a lack of confidence after his FT blowup vs SPU.
