5. D Fox
6. M Monk
34. B Adebayo
35. H Diallo
89. I Briscoe
100. I Humphries

In an attempt to rub salt in the wound DraftExpress lists Diallo as coming from the NY Rens, not UK. On a serious note, being so close to the the first round before even setting foot at a pro workout session scares me and for the first time I'm actually starting to think there's a good chance he's gone. If so, I wish him good luck in the future, as I'd want my own so to take advantage of the same opportunity if he was guaranteed to be picked in the first round.

Go Big Blue!!!

i think he is gone
i think we will be fine with or without him next year
Cal is bringing in some shooters to go along with our post guys
next season is looking great

It would suck so much if he leaves. With him IMO we have a good shot at a championship but even if we get Bamba/Johnson I just don't see it happening without him.

We still need him, he can drive to the basket and is real athletic. That helps when need to get a score, kinda like when Fox and Briscoe took it to the basket and scored when we needed it.

Draft Express does not care one way or another where a player is from, not trying to rub salt in any wound. Secondly, if he never plays, I don't consider him a Kentucky player. If he would have truly been the number 1 SG in the 17 class he will be a first rounder

I agree with your statement about not considering him a UK player if he never plays a second in a game for us and jumps to the NBA. I just can't ever call him a UK guy if he ends up doing that. I know many on here support his decision and I'm not denying him that but I feel that he kinda used Kentucky in this case right now. Sorry, but that's just my feeling.

Diallo seemed to be all UCONN right up until the talk turned to enrolling early. He may well withdraw from the draft, and if he does, the chance to enroll early and have a coach go all-in on helping him achieve his dream while asking for little in return might have played a big role in getting him on the roster.

There's no way to know.

It would rub salt in the wound if they listed him as front UK. Kanter was ruled ineligible, so that's different. Diallo had his shot and used UK. I do not consider him a Cat.

All this considered, I wish him no ill will and hope he has a successful future. He just doesn't deserve the distinction of being a wildcat

LOL at the overreaction . I am not going to pay attention to any good or bad news until the he either announces he will be back or that he is gone . I have this same frame of mind for all players who enter the draft when there is a good chance they come back ( like with Briscoe last season) . I supect Diallo comes back but you never know.

I have posted on several threads today about my feelings. But, I think it is time to stop and I will certainly express my venom on the whole situation if he stays in the draft. On the other hand, if he is doing this strictly for information and returns, he might become my favorite player next season. We just have to wait and see.

So when did being ranked 35th by ONE service automatically mean a player is definitely gone?

When I see the FIRST NBA Draft expert place him in the top 20, then I'll start caring.

Just about every recruit we bring in is using us. How many times you hear a recruit say "its a business decision"? They choose us because they want to make money and the quickest way to do that is here riding the coattails of the "Ky effect"

I'm not going to be one on here bashing or hating on the kid, but if he leaves without playing a game by his own decision (unlike Enes who wanted to play for us) he's not a cat.

Also im not mad at Diallo but im disapointed in Cal in bringing in someone who was healthy and perfectly able to play and help the team win a title and not playing him. Was basically held out to not hurt his draft stock.
Hopefully so many will be in front of him that he will be forced to come back and actually give back to the University for the monetery investment they put into him.

This is my stance. Not mad at the kid for pursuing his dream, but please Cal, get a clue dude. This is Kentucky, we play for titles, not draft picks, anything other than titles. It's cool that we have a lot of players in the NBA, but I'd rather have less NBA players and more titles.

Because technically he was on the team this year

I must have missed the part where he played ... this isn't like Enes Kanter, Diallo could have played last year and for whatever reason felt he didn't want to play, but now he just gonna bolt to the NBA when basically saying naw I don't wanna help yall but I want to go to the NBA? Not cool at all. Pretty disgusting actually.

Is Kanter a uK player?

I'm still holding out a little hope that he will return for next season, but if he stays in without having played a game for us, then I don't disagree with the sentiment of not considering him a Cat. Even though Enes didn't play he is the true embodiment of a Wildcat, wanted to play, got screwed over but you knew he still bled blue.

I think he stays in the draft & if that happens I hope we don't take anyone else in that situation again.
Me too.Just doesn't seem worth it.I would rather Cal just go after another recruit even if he's not as great for the next class.

Man did Melo Trimble take a hit

Briscoe coming in at 89 right ahead of the great Tacko Fall

Scroll to the bottom and a familiar name will appear.

Cal did not lose on this one. According to all reports Diallo improved dramatically while at UK. Therefore this is a good message to other recruits that you can come to UK and improve your game prior to going to the NBA even if you do not play very much and that Cal will still support you in realizing your dreams. I think this is a good message to send to recruits.

So what message is being sent to the people who pack Rupp every game and make it possible for him to make that 7 or 8 mill a year salary?

Is Kanter a uK player?

On the court, no. In spirit, Enes is the ultimate Wildcat. He wanted to play but got the screws put to him by Emmert who had a vendetta against him for flipping from UW to UK. He still showed good faith, stayed the year and his work in practice helped develop Jorts into a damn good player by March.

Diallo bouncing without playing a single minute would be a completely different situation and set of circumstances. He would essentially have used us for Summer League practice when he was eligible to contribute something in a meaningful game for at least half a year while still maintaining the option to bounce at the end of the season afterwards.

I am one of those people that pack Rupp every game and I think the message is loud and clear that Cal is a players coach who has their back while winning over 80% of his games. I think Cal deserves every penny he makes. If you are a UK fan I would assume you would prefer Billy Gillespie coaching and we could be hoping to make the NIT every year.
