I thought Tennessee was the nail in Cal's coffin. I was wrong, it's today. Kentucky basketball is very rapidly becoming Indiana. If they wait too long to fix it, then there may be no return to the throne.

The constant driving into trouble with very little intention of having someone spotted up to kick to is so ineffective. Just bad basketball that I can watch when the summer AAU circuit starts up.

Credit Gonzaga’s players. Been told they are a bubble team and this might be their last shot to build the resume. Then, their grown start wiping their cracks with our little boys for the entire world to see.
That’s what well coached teams do. Funny thing is… it’s not even hard to do anymore.

Gonzaga plays a tight rotation and their lineups make sense. Their playstyle is optimized for that core who plays.

Cal, on the other hand, subs in at random, basically, while trying to maintain a lineup with at least 2 players 6'8'' or taller. That's about all the thought that goes into his decisions.

Lineski, this is game #23. There's no excuse anymore when it comes to players "buying in." This is on Calipari. If they haven't bought in, that's a Cal problem.

It ultimately IS the coaches problem, sure. But loke the Sharpe situation, at some point the players need to be blamed. Cal was more or less 100% on teams being "decent" or better at guarding the 3.. this team is near the bottom. What's the REAL common denominator here then?

Maybe he just can't recruit (or coach) in this era, but I just can't give these players a pass either.

Regardless of what the Cal worshipers think, Cal is the worst coach in college basketball. His coaching is so bad that he no longer can hide it with talent. With the talent on this team, it should easily be one of the best in college basketball.

Also, you will never convince me that Mitchell's back is too bad for him to play. For anyone who has ever suffered from back problems, you know that Mitchell wouldn't be sitting on the bench looking pain free. If he really had a bad back, you wouldn't want to risk having him located that close to the floor because of the possibility of someone running into him. It is crazy that the season is nearly over and we have yet to play a single game with all available players.

I'd have to go the opposite direction.
