Unfortunately, we are now a bubble team.

The 2011 UCONN team lost 7 or their last 12 games in the regular season and started the Big East tournament as a 9 seed. They won the next 11 games in a row to win the Big East tournament and NCAA tournament. It isn't over until it's over.

i think we're on the bubble. the proof is this thread isn't deleted, and no one is screaming at the op. if we lose all confidence we could go to the nit because that's how it goes with momentum. bbn should be supportive and not ride guys who are showing limitations in certain areas. for instance rupp groaning over a briscoe missed free throw just makes it worse. time to be positive imo. we got a lot to play for. everything. some non great team is going to get a national championship this year. i rather not be in the nit, and don't think we should be. the top ten has been shaking all year and there will be more of that.

What you guys are underestimating is that everybody else is going to be losing games as well. I think 3 seeds will have 8-10 losses this year for sure. If UK wins out at home and splits on the road I think they would actually be close to a 4/5 seed.

It's not about how many losses you have as much as who your losses are to. Anybody who's paid attention on Selection Sunday over the years should understand that by now. Opponent quality matters A LOT to the committee.

If our losses were to teams like Oklahoma, North Carolina and Maryland I would have no concerns. But the fact that they instead include crappy teams like Auburn, UT and OSU is a definite problem.

Matt Jones actually said the complete opposite. He said the committee does not care who you lose to, but what your quality wins are.

We are not on the bubble.. But we do have 4 road games left, and they are all pretty solid teams. No reason to think the officiating on the road gets better, and no reason to think those schools don't go crazy for Kentucky coming to town. Actually, I now of hope Kentucky is unranked for these games and it might lessing this cluster-F of a road environment.

I'm going to assume we lose every road game from here on out, which puts us at 10 losses. That means we can't drop a home game, and probably make a decent run in the SECT.. So, really, not worried. We should win every home game, and the entire SECT will be partially a home game anyways. The only team that can beat us straight up is TA&M..

Our RPI says that we are firmly in the NCAAT as of now.

and once again, The SELECTION COMMITTEE doesnt look at bad losses. Every person who went through the mock drafts the past several years since they've been doing it have always said the only discussion is who has a team beaten.

Bubble team? Not yet. WE were considered a 5th seed going into the game, you don't go from 5th seed to bubble after one game.

Louisville is a quality win, ranked top 10 on Pomeroy.
Duke is still a top 25 win on Pomeroy, BPI, and Sagarin

With no real quality wins and some really bad losses, we are going to have to step it up and finish strong. This one hurts with that 21 point lead. Front court is non existent, beside Poy sometimes. Really, really bad stuff. F*ck
The best part is....my expectation this year has totally shifted. I do not expect any more road wins, therefore, I will not be all too upset if we don't. I still enjoy watching them play, as bad as it is sometimes.

They say that it doesn't matter. But, it seems like it would be hard to ignore.

Also, UK hasn't beaten anybody other than UL. Missed a chance at KU and only have a couple of opportunities left. Doesn't look likely that we will have even 3 quality wins by selection Sunday

All 4 road games are brutal. Vandy. Florida just knocked off WVA at home....we rarely win in the swamp,
Vandy is toughest home court in the league. They are really good there and will view our game as a resume must. A&M is the best team in the league....USC is over rated but well coached and tough at home. If we win one of those and all 5 home games we are ok....a really tough hole after losing at Auburn and UT
We do rarely win at the Swamp.....but the Swamp is the football stadium.

In basketball Cal is 3-3 at the O Dome and UK is 19-16 all time. So to say we 'rarely' win there is stupid.

Vandy is terrible. The CATS easily win that road game. I think they win at USCjr as well. Aggies will be tough at home but not Kansas tough so that is a winnable game. Florida looks more like a loss to me due to nature of Swamp and the way the team is reacting currently. I don't see the CATS dropping a game at home.

You're not the sharpest knife in the drawer if you think we EASILY win at Memorial Theater.

Vandy and USC are both better than Auburn and UT. We couldn't beat Auburn or UT on the road.

I think we'll win 1 of the 4, but 2 isn't out of question. We certainly could lose all 4 also.

But score comparing saying this team is better than that team etc....well that doesn't work. By that logic we would lose at Arkansas and Alabama. Those two teams are better than Auburn and Tennessee.

We have some really stupid fans that say we are going to lose to such and such team because we lost to such and such team. Pure ignorance.

With this team, who knows. They've shown they can compete with a top ranked team then they go out and lay an egg against a team they should beat. :alien:

We ran out of gas. The Kansas game was great for College Basketball, not for us. 2 road games in 4 days, one way out West. We looked crisp at the beginning of the game and then clearly hit a wall....even Tyler started leaving shots short. We are better than the team that lost to Auburn... much better. We'll be just fine in the grand scheme of things.

This board does love stats. Point for ICBD

I could care less who likes or doesn't like my posts, but the guy has solidified idiot status through is own words. Enjoy the rest of the season. We will be fine on neutral courts with neutral referrees.

Fair enough...I hope you're right.

Before the loss last night I believe we would have been a 5 seed. Missing that win at Kansas is huge as that would have been a huge road win for seeding purposes.

We will have to see how things play out but if we can win all our home games and take a game or two on the road and get to the SEC Semis I can still see a 6 or 7 seed. Beat A&M on the road win 1 other road game, win all home games and get to SEC finals and I think we are talking 4 seed.

Now if we lose all our road games then you may be looking at an 8/9 seed range but as long as we win all our home games we are not going to be on the bubble.

Right now your bubble teams are teams like LSU, George Washington, Butler, Georgetown. Teams that are barely in the field and on the bubble are teams like Clemson (who can't win a road game but have many good ACC home wins but horrible non conf), Florida State, Seton Hall, UCLA, Syracuse, Gonzaga types.

This team does not have the talent the last 4 Final 4 teams had but is more closely like the 2011 team which ironically got a 4 seed when many thought it should been a 3 seed while that 8 seed team in 2014 was loaded with talent.

Also don't forget teams all over the place will be spitting up on themselves falling off the bubble as well.

I have no idea why Dakari left but it sure didn't work out for anyone involved he would have made a huge difference for this team. Losing the Harrison twins has been huge too those 2 kids were clutch the last 2 years.

Can everyone panic any more than you are? Geez people, breathe. We are NOT a bubble team at this point but yes, with a few more losses like Auburn and UT we will be. We still have the last 1/3 of the season to go here. Lot of basketball to be played. Chill out.

Almost as bad as the thread from the guy saying the only winnable game after we lost to Auburn was Missouri. [laughing] Every fan base has a small minority of crybaby's. They'll just brush their own garbage under the rug when they're wrong and keep over-reacting after every loss.
