Under What Circumstance Would You Become Interested in an IU/UK Renewal?

There's recently been a flare up on the board here from some IU fans trying to blow the ember into flame. It's been a ping pong match, so is there any circumstance you'd support it's renewal?

Neutral court. This year proved that Kentucky doesn't even get a fair whistle at home.. so I have NO desire to play ANY big team at their home as we don't get the same benefit.

We aren't going to put Kentucky in some lose/lose scenario either.. by playing a lesser team. We win, we were supposed to. We lose, OMG!!

Neutral court and a team of our stature.

Let's just say this, they need us much, much, much more than we need them right now.

But yeah, put them on the schedule so we can beat that ass.

I'd love a home and home so we can beat them in their old janky gym and send their nerdy fans in their popcorn pants into depression, although I know it won't happen.

Play it in Indy dome every year, 50/50 ticket split. Almost 25 years later and that still is the most memorable game I've been to in person.

As an added bonus, it will be 1 (more) game in a dome to help us prepare for the Final 4 every year.

Yeah I don't really care either way, we play a lot of good teams each year.

There are much better teams to play in our OOC. If they ever become relevant again we can revisit it at that time.

I've said it in some other threads, just let it die. If Archie gets IU rolling, they will be in our bracket every year.

If it could be as competitive as it was when Joe B Hall and Bobby Knight were coaching.

NO!!!!!!!! IU fans coming over here to try to get us to play them and then mouthing off about how we act and telling us how great they are. NO I don't want to play them ever again. and if KY starts up the series I will not attend. Last time was enough for me

Zero. There are only two teams I really hate. Indiana is one and I hope we never play them again. Hopefully the other gets a death penalty for buying hookers. We don't need Indiana. They need us.

Playing them on a neutral floor might be o k,but the NCAA is going to "arrange" a game in the NCAAT whenever it is possible so I don't see it as a big deal.Back in the Knight/Rupp,Hall era it was a bigger deal but the OAD era has rendered rivalry games less meaningful.

To me the bottom line is that it is not worth the time, trouble and effort, there are more attractive possibilities without having to put up with their fanbase(I still remember the scene the last time we played them in a regular season game it could have ended much worse than it did)

If Cal is good with striking a deal then fine.

Your biggest game in the last decade was a game-winning shot to beat our title team, a team that then beat you by double digits to advance to the Final4.

Want to rethink that "We don't need you" stance?
CAM doesn't need to play UK to get IU really good again. They just needed to get rid of Crean and hire a competent coach and that has been done. The dude just needs a few years

Only in a dome or where a regional NCAA would be played. Either as suggested above in INDY every year with a fifty fifty ticket split at either Banker or Lucas or one year there and one at YUM! if that can be worked out without UL sharing one dime in the proceeds.
'
I hate to say this but I firmly believe Archie will win one or two NCAA championships in the next decade. He is by far the best young coach out there. I was hoping he would wait until Cal left. He will run a class program and while I don't like it they are back.

IU isn't relevant enough anymore to fill a marquee slot on our schedule IMO. I much prefer playing the KU, UNC, Duke, UCLA's... etc of the world.

No interest in playing IU but if Cal wants to help his buddy then it should be a neutral court game. No more trips to Bloomington.

For me it's not really about IU or any kind of hard feelings, it's simply about entertainment and level of interest. If we come across them once in a while in a SEC B10 challenge or Maui Invitational, or second round of the dance, then great, but that needs to be it.

There are a number of programs I would like to see UK schedule over the course of the next 5 years on a one time, prime time event, neutral site basis, or short term 2 year home and home as opposed to committing to something more long term.

Would love to see something worked out with Arizona, Gonzaga, Wichita St in Dallas and Xavier, Butler in Indy. Maybe get the women's programs involved like the double header we had with Baylor.

Villanova at The Palestra would be cool. Real old school basketball vibe and atmosphere in a historic basketball venue. Would be a nice contrast to the big neutral site game, and have a real getting back to basketball roots feel. Old school, historic, intimate setting in a real Gym where the floor doesn't have to be wheeled in and pieced together and the fans are very close to the court.

I think we need a home and home with Duke. I know we'll see them at the Champions Classic in 2018, but I think a home and home is in order.

I want no part in a home and home with Duke until Coach K leaves.

We're honestly better off playing IU in a home and home.

I don't care if we ever play them again.

Their fans are weird. They're super angry and REALLY hate UK; and they live under delusions that it's still 1972-1987. I've never seen a fanbase as stuck in the past as that one.

You're right. No UK fans ever bring this up. Why? All the reasons stated above. Why go over them again?

Why would we want to play Indiana? There's way better teams and programs that will attract fans

We have
UNC
Kansas
Louisville
UCLA
Usually a Mich State

Teams I'd want before Indiana
Arizona
Gonzaga
Butler
Duke
Notre Dame
Michigan
Heck even FSU
