After hearing, UNC now awaits NCAA ruling in academic case http://bit.ly/2uMs9D2

See the colar coming out of is nose....

how much longer do think these cheating SOB's drag this out ? A year or more ?

Nothing is going to become of it so I don't know if it even matters. But, I think the NCAA will lose all credibility if they let UNC off with nothing more than a slap on the wrist.

As I have posted earlier if the NCAA lets UNC off with what amounts to a slap on the wrist, then the NCAA loses what little credibility they have left, imo.

What in the heck rock did you come out from under? Never have seen you post before and geez with that amount of posts you sure have been busy somewhere...

Roy always looks like he is about to cry. I hope the NCAA gives him something to cry about.

What happens is anyone's guess, honestly the "death penalty" is warranted but it is almost a certainty that won't happen. There is no doubt wins should be forfeited and banners should come down,I think that is possible but it may not be likely and won't happen without a fight from UNC that ends up in a Court somewhere.

I am 45 years old and with good health have probably another 30-35 years on this earth. My hope is to see UNC's case come to a final conclusion before I go.

I'm sorry. Maybe your great great great grandchildren.

NEWS FLASH!!

The Starship Intrepid just reached the nearest star after a 500 year journey.

Next up, the still unprecedented NC scandal is entering its final stages . . .

Listened to the Bob Valvano show today and he said a NC writer reported that the UNCheat officials were very happy after their meeting with the NCAA. Bilas was on the show too and he said he didn't think that indicates anything. He thinks they are going to get hammered, but then he went on at length to explain how it's a travesty and nobody at UNCheat did anything wrong, but give out a few easy As. He also talked about the UL case and again claimed nobody knew but McGee and a few players. Not a shred of evidence showing otherwise he said.

Jay Bilas has become a full blown shill and UNC apologist. Hope it's been worth it because he no longer has any integrity left IMO.

it took 15 hours......fedora got to go home today.....
It is an NCAA violation for them to discuss the case or the COI meeting with media, so the writer (Carter - UNC cheerleader) is probably basing this theory on nothing substantial, or its propaganda for recruiting purposes.

The NCAA will literally lose billions of dollars if they botch this. UNC isn't worth that. Sankey is a smart fellow.

Syracuse got hammered for a far less egregious case of academic fraud. If they slap the cheaters on the wrist, just disband the NCAA.

He is a very intelligent guy and really great to listen to talk about basketball, but his NCAA beef has gotten out of hand. Some of his arguments are admirable and I get making them the bad guy, but sometimes schools are in the wrong (see UofL and UNC) and acting like those schools are above reproach is ridiculous.

I'm sure UNC people are feeling good. They've been delusional this entire process.

Amen. If they do not get hammered, I am done with college sports. I used to say except UK, but after 51years of following UK since I was 12 years old, I think I am done including UK. I have been told all my life how superior North Carolina was...how my school was inferior, a cheater, and backwater, and, my banners meant nothing because my school was a bunch of cheaters...all of this from Dean E. Smith and North Carolina fans. They, the Carolina Way and the Architect, Dean E. Smith are the biggest cheaters of all times it turns out. The last 3 banners and untold victories should be coming down/vacated. If not, I am done.

I'm not sure what Bilas has become, but one thing we can be sure about, his opinion(if it is truly his opinion) of issues in college basketball is about as far from reality as one can get.

Over 30,000 post and only 61 likes? That dude is more hated than @ulismyman

I am a Gamecock fan and post on FGF, I have almost 4000 likes on that board. I simply came over to your board to get your thoughts on the UNC matter. Plus, I started posting on FGF many years ago, long before the like system came into being. So, it's not fair to compare my overall likes to the amount of post made. But, anyway I came in peace to this board to see what UK fans thought the UNC hearing was going to reveal. I live and work in NC and hate the holes with a passion. UNC fans think UK has the dirties basketball program that ever existed and I knew that you guys would have some choice things to say about the holes. Just wanted to revel in the UNC mess. Sorry, if I offended anyone.

Don't agree with Bilad on his take on the situation but he had said that the NCAA has no jurisdiction on this matter even though what they did was wrong.I don't how he comes to this conclusion.

I still don't believe much will happen to unc**
No faith in the NCAA

Well said. He's hard to look at now even with tv muted.

Especially after they were given gift after gift during last years post season run. That may have done it for me. I still follow what's going on through message boards but I've been watching fewer and fewer games for years now. The officiating has been the main culprit a seemingly unlevel playing field among perennial powerhouses on top of officiating that has consistently gotten worse going back 15 years at least is all too much. Feels pointless to watch. Like reality tv or something.

His contention is that this is a extra benefits case and there were no extra benefits, because the classes were available to all students. Also, that there is no evidence that anyone in the athletic department had anything to do with the easy A classes. That's how Bilas thinks about them. Not non-existent fake classes that everyone with a brain knows they were.

Glad to have you (In my book, not that it matters.) I was just surprised I hadn't seen your username before now with that many posts. I am on this board normally daily...I am a junky.) I haven't been on any other boards except maybe one, two, or three times at the most since I began posting. The signature page doesn't show where you are from which is why I was surprised I hadn't seen you post before. Be Good but beware, I am brutal....BUT, harmless.

I think Bias believes what he is saying. I always remember 2 things when listening to him:

1. He has a hard-on for bashing the idiots at the NCAA. This is a quality I like.
2. He is an attorney. So he reads rules as black and white issues, his take on this is a strict interpretation of his opinion of how these specific rules read.

Any rational person would conclude that 20 years of fake classes, 6 botched investigations, wheels for heels, etc. HAS to be an infraction. Bias is arguing semantics. He knows what UNC did is wrong, but he also knows the NCAA is an antiquated monoplane with tax exempt status.

True Bilas is reading this as black and white, but he's also a huge hypocrite.

One example: Bilas has spent a lot of time over the past ten plus years at least complaining about the NCAA rule book being too complicated with too many "silly" rules etc. Yet when it comes to UNC suddenly he wants to claim that there wasn't a specific rule that UNC broke (which BTW, is complete BS. Not only has UNC broken numberous specific rules, they also brazenly broken many of the core principles that the NCAA organization is supposedly based on.) so UNC should get off scott free.

Another example: while he makes the argument that UNC broke no rules, he's also been railing against the NCAA for breaking their own bylaws by even charging UNC with wrongdoing. He keeps repeating this but has failed to explain 1.) exactly what by-law he's talking about and 2.) exactly why any by-law that the NCAA has is so sancrosanct that it must be followed to the letter, or else they have suddenly lost their authority to render a decision. Not to mention that UNC has willfully tried to delay and sabotage the normal NCAA review process at every opportunity, so if anyone is in breach of following the process it should be UNC. Yet Bilas makes no mention or acknowledgement of this.

Anyone who has spent any time reading the NCAA manual knows that it's more a general guide for how things typically occur. It never was intended to be a detailed and strictly followed step-by-step recipe for how investigations are followed in every situation. The fact that Bilas and other UNC stooges are hanging their hats on this is disingenous at best.

No problem man. I don't visit many boards but I do visit the UK board occasionally, because of the fact UK fans supported SC during their Final 4 run more than any other SEC fans. Plus, I know how much UK dislikes UNC and so do I, so I just thought I would see what your thoughts were about the NCAA hearing. Take care.

Most of my posts were before the "likes" were available, but I don't care about the likes anyway. I'm pretty sure some people get multiple ID's and spend their days liking themselves. I feel if UNC**** isn't hammered, then I may be done with NCAA sports. It becomes nothing but a WWE clone, manipulated and fraudulent. The NCAA can choose to botch this by letting them off the hook for their decades of cheating but it will come at a high cost. If the hammer them, NCAA sports could still be a fraud. I don't have much trust in them not to do the right thing. Large $$ amounts leads to corruption just about every time. That is a societal commentary. We've become a society with very little in terms of a moral compass. I'm watching us turn into a bad movie distopia day by day: kind of a mad max/Soilent Green mix.
