Cats come in 23-24, while the Hoosiers are 31-16. Throw out the records in this annual mid-week border war.
Game time is @ 7:00 pm on the SEC network. Haven't a clue who the Cats will throw at IU, hopefully we can be competitive.

Ramsey started very good with control of several pitches, locating well. 1 foul out and two strikeouts.

This makes no sense. Ramsey does well in the first, but Indiana is a power hitting team and we decided to pitch our Friday starter, a guy who has a tendency to give up home runs. So much so that he has given up 30 percent of the team's home runs this year. So... what's the draw in pitching him here?

Also, who the heck we going to pitch against South Carolina?

Well, we only try to win one game per SEC series anyway.

Wow!!! UK scores 2 on a wild pitch that the catcher couldn't find. It was very easy to see. Not sure how he couldn't find it. 2-0 UK

UK is lucky there because that hit the batter on the wild pitch. It should have been a walk or even a possibly a dead ball strike since he offered at it.

You have to wonder about who decided on the orientation of the baseball field.

A double and a ball that Hill lost in the sun cost UK a run. Going to bottom 3 up 2-1.

Ramsey doing pretty good. Made a mistake and they crushed it but it was on a line right at Johnson. Got a break. Going to bottom 4 still up 2-1.

We are still hitless. Just trying to jinx it. Schultz breaks it up on a single off the leg of the pitcher!

Harper now coming in. Good outing by Ramsey. No walks. Just 3 hits. Very proud of him.

The announcers are saying they think Mingione is considering pitching Ramsey this weekend also. Maybe that makes sense for Sunday.

Lol Johnson hasn't swung tonight. Looked at 15 pitches. He walks for the third time.

ARod with a led off with a double. Nice strong hit. Could have been an out but a tough play for left fielder.

0 outs.

Wow... holy cow. Shinn pops up a bunt that lands fair and they call ARod safe at third, but it will come back thanks to replay. He will be out.

Curtis executes a BEAUTIFUL hit and run!!! Short evacuates the spot and Curtis hits it there 3-1

UK tries the squeeze and fails but a poor throw to third allows Shinn to score and Curtis to move to 2nd. 4-1

There are 11 SEC teams ahead of us in D1 Baseball's RPI. There are 3 Big Ten teams ahead of us in that same RPI list.

According to Warren Nolan, there is only one Big Ten team (Illinois - 37) with an SOS above any SEC team (Missouri - 38). It might be a bit eye-opening for the IU team to see the bottom of the SEC competing against them so strongly. I'm happy to see the competitiveness and glad not to see any errors so far for our team.

I mean... you could argue that they did face our Friday starter while we faced a midweek guy for them. Lol :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
