UK in good shape with brown

Why the hell would he go to UM to compete against Lavert and Irvin at the 3? Irvin at the 4? No freaking way. And don't tell me he'd start over Lavert. Not happening. We have a wide open wing slot. I'm saying he comes here or Cal. IMO

He'd be playing the 4 and I don't think he'd wanna do that.

If UK doesn't get another post I reckon we could see Brown (if he comes to UK that is) at the 4 when there is foul trouble. Someone will have to play it we get two bigs with three fouls in the first half.

Lee is living in the gym this summer. I'm sure he and Poy can handle it.

the way things have played out inthe last few weeks. Brown coming here makes more and more sense. For the recruit and for UK.

From everything I have read it sure sounds like UM. Like to have Brown at UK but not getting my hopes up.

Seems like more and more talk on brown to UK and that is at least a positive cal said the other day he would know all about this class in a couple of weeks at first I thought he was referring to Murray but now I believe he was referring to brown!!

With Lavert coming back, how can he think he's gonna get near the minutes he would get here.

True, but with this class nothing surprises me. Knowing our recent luck he'll turn out to be the one guy that actually wants to play along with other great players at his position.

Cal > Adidas

Not that a future NBA player needs it while in the league but brown has a huge desire for scholastic excellence and Michigan is a phenomenal school. Not hard to connect the dots of a good coach, good league where he could get 35 minutes a game and be a star while also being an Adidas school where he can get a degree in 2 years or something. If he chooses us I'd be shocked but ecstatic. I'd love to play him at the 4 and go quick athletic small ball, especially if we add murray

I just tried to quickly check the Rivals website, and I don't see that Michigan has a single commitment in the Top 100 to date. This leads me to believe that the only reason that Jaylen would commit to Michigan would be because of family obligations -- and I certainly understand that those are important.

I just hope that his family can give their approval to his coming to U.K., which, it seems to me, is clearly the better option for Jaylen for his long-term best intersts -- particularly since he's only going to spend one year at either place, whichever he chooses.

Come on, Jaylen. We NEED you ! ! !

Go 'Cats ! ! !

What do academics mean to a kid who's gone in 9 months anyway?

I think the academic reason would only be a smokescreen for the real factor of picking Michigan - Adidas.

Just my crazy conspiracy theory and for all we know the speculation today could end up being correct and something finally goes our way this month, but does anyone else think that it's more than just a coincidence that we always seem to be in the top 2 along with an ADIDAS school for recruits with those connections? By now everyone knows that having UK involved as one of the finalists is a lock to generate more buzz and anticipation about the decision, both from our fans and our detractors. UK is also Nike's top dog in college basketball, so not only does it succeed in building up a brand and attention for the recruit, it can be hailed (no pun intended) as a victory over their competitor.

When money is involved, nothing surprises me.

I'm resigned we don't get Brown. You all should as well.
But, with all the drama, maybe that wouldn't be the worst thing either.
We've missed on everyone except Mulder since November.
Let's just accept. I'm ready to move on.

The funny thing was yesterday everyone was talking about Shaun Kirk and visiting this weekend and that he had an offer from UK and if he would come this weekend to visit then he would probably commit to Kentucky. Even his coaches were saying that this would be an easy decision if had an offer from UK and Cal talked to him by phone on Monday Night and if he was coming this weekend to visit that he probably would go from his committment to NCState to Committing to Kentucky this weekend after his visit in Lexington! Then today it is back to Kirk to NCState and that he wouldn't be coming to visit this weekend.

Only degree he would get in 2 years would be if he went to a community college. He is not getting any kind of bachelor in 2 yrs though.

The quote from Brown saying he "is definitely going to an Adidas school" is from almost a year ago, for what it's worth.

Can you find that quote for us? I don't remember hearing him ever coming out and actually saying that directly..
