First the bad: Burks didn't get to play enough considering the score, and Wagner shot poorly again, including some weird, wild scoop nonsense off the glass. He is still too one dimensional on offense. Check me but I believe DJ is 3 for his last 20 from the field.

The good: Justin Edwards. Whatever that Cat ate for breakfast, we need UK's procurement to order it in bulk and give it to all the players. Dude actually outplayed REEVES? My man. And Reeves was amazeballs as usual today.

Shep was his usual efficient self.

Big Z (or Big E depending on who's talking) finally got some run, and it showed. He was given an opportunity to get into the flow of the game, and he was disruptive on D and effective on offense. His handoffs are clean and his PNR to the rim was excellent. His post move was what we've known he can do. This kid is SKILLED. He just needs more clock.

Dillingham almost went on a tear in the second half, but no complaints about his game today. Great job. Ugo was fine and Thiero was a man. Box score says he only hit 1 three but I distinctly remember 2. Maybe he had a toe on the line.

This Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde personality going on with this team is coming to a head. They need to figure things out soon or we're looking at a 7 seed.

So good on a Saturday to be able to enjoy it and not be stressed. Shocked at how well we played. Cal put Shep and Dilly in earlier to start the game and we seemed to take off at that point.

Hell, I thought Adou hit 3 3s. Maybe not. Lol
He might as well have, but they ruled he had a toe on the line for 2 of them.

Either way, it’s too much to expect quite this hot of a shooting day every time out, but if Edwards and Thiero can consistently be scoring threats instead of guys the defense can safely ignore, that gives us a lot more depth and make us a threat going forward. I just hope we can finally put an extended stretch together where we play at a high level. We’ve been the kind of team who can’t stand prosperity this year.

I am not sure what to make of our defense. I am hoping the plan was to try and take away 3's because straight line drives were available over and over for Alabama. They had more dunks and lay-ups in the first half than any team I have seen although this has been a problem for Kentucky. But, maybe again that was the plan because we did a lot of exchanging their 2's for our 3's. Our offense fortunately was on fire. Clearly our best offense is up tempo and the bad news for Alabama is that is the way they play as well. Their drives also led to several turn-overs which is where our offense thrives.

What were some differences? Z played instead of Bradshaw, Wagner shouldn't have started but didn't stay too long, and of course Edwards was amazing. In fact, Cal did what we fans have been saying for a month. Tells me we know what we are talking about. But, that defense still seems concerning to me.

Cal confirmed that your second sentence was correct. It was our game plan.
