U.S. Halts J & J COVID Shots

How about the B&J shot?

Absolutely absurd. Less than 1 in a million on these issues. Another effort to divide the country. By any medical metric 1 death out of 7 million treatments given is a MASSIVe success. Even if we KNOW it was caused by the vaccine. (we don't)

here is how this is playing out.

A. Biden admin knows pausing this will curb vaccination rates.
B. Why does Biden admin want that? So they can drag the pandemic on as long as they can. The Trump vaccines end the pandemic within 60 days from now if enough people get the vaccines.
C. Biden admin doesn't want the world opening back up because they can't push through their socialist agenda without the pandemic effect on the economy.
D. Within 10 days the JNJ vaccine will be given the go ahead but the damage will be done. All of those who were on the fence of getting the vaccine won't get it now and we won't reach heard immunity as quickly as we would have if we kept up the current vaccination rates.

Just making sure I'm clear on this...

The FDA approved the J&J vaccine in late Feb (after Trump was out of office), the Biden admin made a goal to get 100M vaccinated in 100 days (then doubled it to 200M), and then came out today and said that the J&J vaccine issue won't impact that goal.

But this is all orchestrated because he wants to curb vaccination rates to keep the pandemic going? Wouldn't it have been a lot easier to stop the FDA approval in the first place or sandbag the vaccination rollout rather than pushing a goal that most people thought was impossible when it was first mentioned?

I'm confused. Is Biden an old dementia patient or is he playing 4D chess to turn this country into a socialist hellscape? It can't be both.

I'm down with devil's advocate, and yeah, I suppose it could be true, albeit farfetched IMO. If he's a puppet for the far left, he's not a very good one. He's been pissing off progressives quite a bit since taking office.

For the record, I'm not some big Biden fan over here. I just like to call out BS when I see it.

This is satire, right? I pray to god this isn’t a serious thought.

This will have an almost trivial impact on vaccination rates. Supply has exceeded demand for awhile in most states. Half of the US adult population will have their first shot by the end of the week.

This is not true. In places like KY and alabama this is true, but in the largest metros in the US they need every dose they can get. Some states are begging for more doses and can't get them. This isn't a huge hit in KY, but in the biggest metros it really hurts.

Further, I knew a LOT of hesitant people who were waiting for the JNJ. It's been tough to get. You now have a compounded problem with the folks who are hesitant.

A. The dose they wanted is not available
B. They now have an excuse to not get the vaccine. (Their fears have been irroneously stoked)

Oh good god. ANYBODY with any sense, included me said one million vaccines per day was absurdly low.

And no, they had already approved the others under trump. He couldn't stop JNJ.

And yes, we will get 200 million shots given. That's only a little over 100 million people. That was always going to be easy.

Going from 40 or 50% of adults to 65 or 70% was always going to be the challenge due to hesitancy, not lack of supply. I"ve said that over and over.

Mark my words, in three week when we have a huge oversupply of vaccine the discussion will be about hesitancy, not supply and they will be bashing white people (conservatives) for being hesitant. I'd bet $100 that by the end of next week we are told that the treatment for the blood clots killed the lady, not the blood clots. They know whats going on, they now know how to treat it. No reason to pause. None.

Before this move I think it was fair to challenge people on their hesitancy. It wasn't rational. It wasn't based on science. NOw the organization we trust to handle these situations has ignored science and erroneously validated hesitancy by "pausing" this for a few days. An awful decision.

I dont know about all tye other nonsense you're talking about, but my favorite is when Biden lowers goals and expectations and it blows your mind.

The previous admin was doing 1 million vaccines a day with 2 vaccines...would have been more if cuomo and whitmer weren't murdering ppl and vaccinating on wokeness as opposed to need...aka following the science.

That said, you're out of your mind, dude.

Your little conspiracy theory (like most of them) falls apart with any semblance of critical thinking. I'll just hit on one point that you made. Your stance is that Biden's puppet masters are orchestrating this "pause" to extend the pandemic, but at the same time you think they couldn't stop FDA approval for a J&J vaccine with only a modest 66% effectiveness rate? If they're not even that powerful or diabolical, then what are you afraid of? Sounds like they don't have the goods to pull off what you think they're trying to pull off.

After all of that, I actually agree with you though. It is a horrible decision to "pause" for a mere 1 in a million chance. It will absolutely cause dummies who are afraid of the vaccine or on the fence to delay their vaccination. Time will tell if it will be enough to significantly delay herd immunity. What we disagree on is the cause for the "pause". IMO it's an overabundance of caution to show people that they aren't trying to stick people with doses that might kill them. Again, I think it's a bad call and will backfire, but not everything is some grand conspiracy. Sometimes shit just happens.

some (not sure if it’s true) are reporting that the incidence of this kind of clot in the general population is 5 in a million. We are pausing due to 6/1,000,000... im no conspiracy theorist, but when a decision makes zero sense you have to ask why. Especially when other decisions and messaging don’t follow the science.

it may be as simple as the common mistake in leadership of not wanting to have to change a decision out of fear of pleille thinking your original decision was wrong. Ie - keep things closed to limit hospital overcrowding...

Now we refuse to reopen when we are at no risk for hospital overcrowding.

leaders could easily be pausing because they fear the decision of having to reopen... slowing vaccination rates helps them delay reopening.

My wife's best friend (early 50s) had the first Pfizer shot a few days ago.

Later that day she developed severe, crushing chest pain, trouble breathing, and a major drop in BP. They took her to the emergency room and found that it was Pericarditis caused by the vaccine. This is a life threatening condition that can be triggered by a viral infection. She spent the night in the hospital and is still recovering.

I live in one of the largest metros in the country (DC) and just got vaccinated with no pre-existing conditions. I know in Ohio where I’m from and have friends in the hospital system they have way more vaccines available than they can use. I don’t know about every state, of course, but either way, if Biden was up to something nefarious to push a socialist agenda, there is no way this is the course of action hed take lol.

I have friends in Michigan with pre existing conditions who still can’t get them. Same I. Chicago and la.
And the ability to get them has just opened up. It hasn’t been this way for long.

Likely to observe full impact of side effects. It’s all about optics. It’s exactly what they did in Europe for AstraZenica vaccine. If I’m gambling, it’ll be resumed in a week. And I might buy some J&J stock now.

I dont know how it can be argued they aren't trying to prolong the pandemic. Fauci out here saying ppl can't even safetly eat at home....unaware most of these basic activities have been going on in the country for some time. All studies show the vaccine not only prevents you getting it but also spread...yet he's out here saying those vaccinated ppl shouldn't do anything defeating the entire purpose of getting it in the first place. Lol we just halted a vaccine because 1 out of a million bc "science". Fauci served a purpose...that purpose is long over.

And a certain sect of ppl keep using the word science as a talisman without understanding how science works, bc its part of their religion to just invoke it.
