I think Tubby is trying to maneuver his way back to UK again. Cal jumped from Memphis to UK. Tubby is following the same course.Wasn't it 2adulters who said that he knew Tubby personally and Tubby told him that he was going to finish his career at Texas Tech? Well, so much for inside information. Take it all with a grain of salt.
Yea he has a championship to back that up.
Tubby,"Cal when you get ready to go recruit me a bunch of guys and I'll come in and win it all with them,I can be OAD just like the players I'll invite you back to the celebration.Send me a fax to confirm before you get ready to leave.I hope I don't lose the damned thing.I'l be down here in Memphis in the mean time"I think Tubby is trying to maneuver his way back to UK again. Really thought they would have gone some other direction but there were a lot of strange hires after the season.Strange that Memphis couldn't find someone better.
We didn't "swap out coaches". Tubby went to Memphis from Texas Tech.Well it has come full circle. We swapped coaches with Memphis. I like the trade
tubby ball will now be known as walking in memphis.
Pastner's a tough act to follow.
Any Memphis talent sticking around should be rewarded nicely with an NCAA matchup with you know who, in the first 2 rounds.
They got one of the hardest working recruiters in college basketball...Not a lazy bone in the mans body when it come to hitting the recruiting trail.

just keeping Keelon Lawson (Dedric and KJs father) on staff would help lock up the Memphis kids for Tubby...Keelon won a State Championship at Memphis' Hamilton High, and knows every local HS coach and player.
Tubby has also gotten Memphis kids before...Austin Hollins comes to mind.
Gone again from another program like a thief in the night. Most disloyal coach in college basketball history. That's something to be proud of.
Who do you think Memphis could have got? What direction could they have went?
Because he has a chance to win in CUSA. He'll never be anything but a bottom dweller at Tech.I wonder why he went from a power 5 conference to out of the club?
or maybe.....he's wanting to follow Pitino againI think Tubby is trying to maneuver his way back to UK again. Cal jumped from Memphis to UK. Tubby is following the same course.![]()

Yea.. your right AAC.. Which is several teams from CUSA.. Bout the same thing.. It'll be a lot easier for Tubby to win in that league than the Big 12. Which is why he's bolting.. I actually think he'll do very well.CUSA? is Tubby going to MTSU?
the AAC features UConn, Cincy, Memphis, Temple, Tulsa, SMU, etc...CUSA has uh....um....er...yeah!

Tubby said he talked to Calipari about the job: "He just said, `Don't mention my name.' "
That's too funnymade me lol...
If he was smart, he would go grab Penny Hardaway to come be an asst. He could really help with the recruiting in the Memphis area, and around the country for that matter.
Power 5 to me is a football thing. The National Champion just came from a non Power 5 conference.

Memphis has tried the 'young up-and-comer' thing and we were lucky to get a "velvet divorce" from Pastner with GaTech.
Tubby has an NCAA title, and has taken 3 different programs to NCAA Sweet 16s...he took an 8 win Tech team, and had them in the NCAAs in year 3.
in 2016 he earned the "Legends of Coaching Award" and was named Big XII Coach of the Year.

64 isn't old.
just get Penny Hardaway or Tony Madlock (former Tiger, experienced asst coach) to be your first chair asst coach.

His press conference was so tubby. Same stories same false hope. He said he had to get out there and start recruiting. Lol
