tOSU favored over Ducks

I have a concern about Oregon's defense. If not for that I would say they win handily. Also wouldn't sleep on Arizona St. They aren't a name but they look pretty solid.

Penn St with the easiest path to the CFP semis. Blew out IU now get Boise. Oregon gets a rematch vs Ohio St. What's wrong with this picture??!!

Texas opened as about a fourteen point favorite over ASU and I expect them to roll

First thought is to bet under in the Georgia Notre dame game, should be a low scoring defensive fight

Improper seeding due to stupid current rules.

Osu was really the 6 seed. They should be playing 3 seed Texas.

Penn state should have been 4 and should be playing 5 seed notre Dame.

Oregon should be playing either Indiana or Boise.

Georgia probably gets 7 seed UT.

Those would be your matchups if the committee was able to rank based on who the best teams were and based on true rankings.

I think they were trying to avoid conference championship games repeating until the finals, maybe coincidence but it's how it played out. I am surprised we are a favorite, not only lost our WB, but punter too in SEC championship.

If OSU comes out like the did against UT they will be tough to handle with the receivers ad RB they have. If QB is on fire like he was against the vols teams are in trouble.

OSU on paper pre season was the NIL spending machine. I'd say the 2 best teams are playing each other in the quarterfinals.
OSU definitely shelled out NIL but they let that $20 million out. I'm pretty sure teams like Texas, Oregon (Phil Knight) and a few others dwarfs the OSU figure but just haven't let their sums out. Heck, Texas' 2 QBs alone (Ewers and Manning) are bringing in $9 to 10 million together and that Oregon QB Gabriel around $4 million alone

I don't buy Penn State as a double digit favorite over Boise at all. Boise's only loss was to Oregon by 3 points. Their SMU game would've been closer if SMU's QB didn't have a brain meltdown and throw two pick 6's in the early stages of the game. Not sure if Boise prevails (I hope they do) but I feel they are just getting blasted this year by the media who is in the pockets of the SEC (ESPN) and Big 10 (FOX).

I think Ohio State can beat Oregon. They had a good battle last time and this time Ohio State has the revenge factor. They are the most talented team in the field, but they have to put it all together. Not surprised they are a favorite.

Still think whoever wins GA-ND wins the lower half of the bracket. ND has a good running attack and one of its better defenses in years. However, their lack of a vertical passing attack makes me question if the team is a national title squad. GA without Beck opens up a lot of questions, but I jumped on the under when it came out since I expect that to keep going downwards until game time. It'll be a grind it out/old school football game for people like me that love the smash mouth style.

Only quarter-final that I think will be a blowout is Texas-Arizona State. The Longhorns should put ASU out quickly and coast by at least 3 scores.

The big playoff reform must happen is the top 4 seeds need to be the best 4 ranked teams. No auto bids to the bye as a conference champ. That is why Ohio State-Oregon and ND-GA are happening in the quarters and not later. If that had been the case this year our bracket would've been:

(8) Indiana-(9) Boise State winner vs. (1) Oregon
(5) Notre Dame-(12) Clemson winner vs. (4) Penn State
(6) Ohio State-(11) Arizona State winner vs. (3) Texas
(7) Tennessee-(10) SMU winner vs. (2) Georgia

So under that system I think we probably still get first round blowouts but we would've had a quarters like Oregon-Boise, Penn State-Notre Dame, Texas-Ohio State, and Georgia-Tennessee. THAT is a much better slate than what we get in the next round IMO.

Penn St blew out SMU, but I agree.

OSU arguably should have beaten Oregon at Oregon but for a reffing issue. The Rose Bowl should be a neutral field, but then UT did get butts into the Shoe. So, who knows?

That game is criminal for the second round. May be THE game of the playoffs.

Yeah, have to agree. Even though they're an 8th seed, they're the team nobody wants to play

The thing I learned from the 4 team playoff is that we didn’t really need a 4 team playoff.

We definitely don’t need 12. Gonna get alotta games like these.

Did enjoy the games played on campus. Granted it is a huge advantage, but actually a move that feel more connected to colleges, rather than less…

Hope we can get into one some day….

Actually, in reality, OSU is a 2 or 3 seed if it wasn't for their blockhead HC Day trying to consistently to run between their OGs and challenging the Michigan DL interior --- the Michigan strength. You saw what happens when he gets his outside-WR game going against Tenn. My prediction - Day will end up costing OSU a NC - he's a dumbass.

Read a few days ago that OSU is projected to have 16 to 17 players drafted in the next NFL draft which would break the all time record of 15 by Georgia a few years ago. Yet, they still lose to teams they shouldn't lose to because of Ryan Day

The idea that OSU is an 8 seed out of this 12 is preposterous. Oregon beat OSU on an answered prayer on their own field. This should be a pick ‘em game. OSU is a top four team, IMO.

I just hope we get some better games in the next round. The first 4 games of the new playoff format were duds
They were duds because there aren't 12 teams capable of winning a title, 8 AT BEST usually about 6. People believe they will see big upsets early like in basketball tourney. Ain't happening

Upsets happen all the time in college football. Sure, we didn’t see an upset in the first four games of the playoffs but I’m not sure why you would say a big upset will never happen in a 12 team playoff. Maybe we don’t see one this year but it’s just a matter of time before one happens.

In basketball there are 32 first round games. So, by probability alone you’re more likely to see upsets every year than in college football.
