New pitcher with 2 outs. That was interesting. Boyd was no where close. I mean, a mile outside. Then suddenly he finds the strikezone. It wasn't even like he began to nibble. Just went from a mile outside to finally throwing it in the middle. Dawson swung at a borderline pitch and it looked like it might find a hole, but they somehow turn two on it.
Squires gets a great bat on it, but it gets ran down. Man... what a terrible change of events for us. Brutal.
End of 7: WKU 3, UK 0. “One of those days” for Cats, who can’t seem to catch a break. Toppers’ arms have risen up in all the key ABs.
Ramsey working quickly here. Gets a fly ball to left and then a grounder to short for the first and second outs. Dawson with a nice running pickup on that second out. Strikeout for Ramsey! I don't think that was a strike, but I'll take it.
Just bad luck here. Holy cow... Aklinski smokes one and the 3B goes to two knees to pick it up off the turf for out number one. That thing is a double down the line if it is a foot either way.

By the way, Collette has stopped with the bat waggle after that first weekend. I think that has helped him to lock in a bit more.

I type and he gives up a single. Still, he has some pretty nasty stuff. He has a visible brace on his wrist. Then he gets a swinging strike to end this thing.
Haake strikes out the side around a single. Was hitting 95-96 on guns. Going to B9, WKU 3, UK 0.
Infield single by Heyer and gapper double by Dawson has tying run at 2nd for Cats with 2 outs in bottom of 9th.
Squires swings through a pitch and they call it a foul ball and it gets past the catcher that would have scored a run, but it is called back. Umpire probably heard Squires bat hit the catcher's glove on the back swing and called it back.

As a WKU fan (I'm a season ticket holder for them), I feel sick, but as noted a few minutes ago, I had zero faith in the bullpen.
Ro Fanning chased Cam Hill down the third base line to celebrate the win with the team. Pretty cool.
I feel a bit sorry for Western Kentucky. They had pretty much earned the win as much as Kentucky had unearned it.
That last pitch didn't look to be too terribly bad to me. Looked like the catcher just straight missed it.
UK had some hard luck in this game. It probably should have never came to the 9th like it did, but I like that we kind of grew up with that and found a way to win.
