Time for a little honesty

How many of you thought the following about the game with UF??

  • I thought Florida was going to beat us bad because of the OL play in game 1.

  • I thought we'd play tough as always but not be better than Florida in The Swamp.

  • I thought we might win if we played better but thought we were gonna lose in the 2ndQ.

  • I thought we were gonna blow it when we missed the FG late in the game.

  • I had no doubt we'd pull it out all week, but got nervous after the safety and other ST miscues.

  • I had no doubt from before the season until the game was over that we'd win this game.

I'll admit I thought we were going to get killed. I thought we would be one dimensional on offense and didn't expect the defense to hold AR15 in check.

Any road game in the SEC is a concern. This one was no different. O line was a concern and being to contain Richardson.

Florida down there will always be tough. Impressed how the didn't let bad plays and misfortune cause them to stop plwying hard.

Gut check win because Florida had all the momentum until the Wright interception.

Man, after that safety and the score going from 7-3 us to 16-7 them... It just felt like the mistakes were about to snowball. I lost hope.

But a Mark Stoops coached football team ain't got no quit in em. I shoulda known better.

Love that honesty, sir

That missed FG about did it for me. We were puckering up. Stoops was being way conservative and I thought UF would drive down the field and score.

Luxkily AR15 misfired most of the night, but man was I grumpy with Stoops for that. Luckily, UF didn’t want it as much and we got a second chance.

We should have came away with points there. I don't know how Coach Scan calls that much better without risking taking a sack and putting us out of range or worse taking a fumble or throwing a pick. Call it puckering up if ya want, most will call that smart . And I think our defense had a lot to do with AR and his "off" night .

We held tight in the first half but figured the mistakes and sacks would take their toll and we’d lose by 10-17. That second half was incredible, mea culpa

I thought we would win going into the game and never really felt we were going to lose. Not saying I wasn’t nervous, based on the lack of a run game and O line, but was confident throughout.

When we were down 16-7 I was still telling every Florida fan in the Swamp what was about to go down. What a fun night.

I didn’t believe until half time. Said it in a few threads before the O line would lose the game for us. What I didn’t give due consideration was the dudes we had on D pitching a damn near no hitter in the 2nd half. Levis said after the game they were the MVP and it’s hard to recall a better performance against a good opponent if there is any.

The boys on D balled out something fierce and the O line had flashes in the 2nd half. If they can play anywhere near that well going forward there won’t be a game we shouldn’t have a shot in.

I thought the game was a toss up going in.

I wasn't more worried in the 2nd quarter because we have been a second half team for several years now.

I knew we were better before the season. Them barely beating an overrated PAC-12 team at home didn't mean crap to me. Only intangibles that could've sunk us were putrid OL play or not adjusting scheme for any deficiencies in said OLine play.

When S.H.T.F towards the end of the first half (after safety), I was disappointed by the OL and STs, but I knew we had an opportunistic defense that could turn the tide instantly to go along with some seriously talented returners on STs.

From there, it was going to be about trusting a veteran NFL offensive mind. For the first time in my life, I wasn't worried about the outcome against Florida even though we were behind in both points and momentum. It was strange, honestly.

Though, in fairness, I didn't have much time to sweat before Wright worked some football magic.

When it was 14-7, I thought that was a respectable halftime score in the Swamp, but felt that out offense was too inconsistent to pull out a win. At halftime, I thought we had a chance. That second half was unexpected, but joy filled.

Oh our defense won the game for sure. The missed FG was just kinda like “Really?” Stoops has been guilty of playing it too safe at times. And that just seemed like it might bite us. Luckily it did not. Our defense last night was fantastic and kept Florida from points the entire second half.

I try not to spout off before a game and lean more toward the pessimistic side because I hate having my hopes dashed.

I was worried about the O line...AND worried during the game. The punt safety was like shades of the Curry era in the Swamp.

But I enjoyed the hell out of that second half defensive performance. And the O line stepping up to bully them around like they did in 2018 down there.

I felt we had a great chance of winning. I wasn’t sold on AR-15 being able to throw all that good. But when the snap went out of the end zone I got a little worried. Just glad Wright made it Wright. So glad we got him back. The D stepped up and Coach Scag went max protection and the good guys pulled out the win!!

I thought we were going to win the game all week. I must admit that after the first half mistakes I lost some (a lot) certainty. That said, I never stopped watching!

I was supposed to be there with family for this game. Knew we were gonna win this for a long time and just couldn't make the trip. 2nd time I've called it and missed the trip to Gainesville. Can't be mad at the outcome though. That was fulfilling

I was optimistic all week, but thought UK could struggle bc the lack of ground game. Was optimistically nervous throughout the game. Even to the last FG.

Number three. Let’s face it, it’s hard to be real optimistic when you’re down 16 to 7 in the second quarter on the road. But our defenses was playing sneaky good, and I felt like we had a chance in the second half

Ok. Already know your poll answer because I saw your posts this week.
I predicted Cats would win pretty easily, and voted the closest to my pregame opinion.

It was a tad closer than I thought, with the special teams snafus.

Before the game, I thought it was unlikely we would win in the Swamp. In the first quarter, I wondered if we would even survive the Swamp. Fantastic coaching adjustment and player response. Tremendous grit. Just raised our ceiling a lot.

I liked our chances going into the game but got a little nervous in the 4th quarter. I've seen so many strange things happen in that series and when we missed the field goal I was not getting the warm and fuzzies.
