UK can get a big time coach.

Glenn Schumann most likely. 34 years old. I know nothing about him, but has a couple of good coaching mentors:

2008 - 2015 - Alabama student assistant, graduate assistant and director of football operations
2016 - 2024 - Georgia ILB, co-DC with Lanning and now DC since 2022

Been on the staff of 6 national championship teams. Again, don't know the guy, but is he the next Dan Lanning?
But, but, but.......he's a DC. But, but, but...............

.783 % highest in fsu history and hung one is all I need to know in the 8 years he was at fsu not your emotional analysis hell anything is better than we got now

And yet he was ran off, left the program in shambles. Was run out of college station with one of the best rosters ever assembled using $$ that only a couple schools can match. You keep throwing his winning per centage out there, he had 1 game a year in ghe ACC, ask the FSU and ATM fans if they want him back. So his winning % may not be a lie its misleading, But like I said 15 other SEC coaches will cheer if you hire him.

I think the first call should be made to Urban Meyer. Yes, out of coaching since 21 but he is the type that can make this thing bigger in hours. Now he hasn’t dealt with NIL but he was at Ohio State and Florida so he he has experienced big numbers and yeah he isn’t a choir boy but this guy just wins.
Urban Meyer is not coming to Lexington. Why did you not choose Nick Saban, he would be more likely to come out of retiremnt than Meyer. Meyer is a sleazy dirtbag. Why would we want a man like that. UK is above a sleazy dirtbag.

Schuman is the longest termed one, came with Kirby from Bama where he was an analysis. Kirby hired him for his first on field position. He has been offered several DC jobs but stayed, likely will until the job he wants takes him. He is elite recruiter, young, every kid who has play any kind of meaningful snaps has been drafted, produced multiple 1st round picks and 2 Butkus award winners. As a DC i like him better than Lanning.

Grumpy I get you. But I wouldn;t say A &M's program was in shambles. Aren;t they the only team in the SEC that is unbeaten in the conference? Jimbo was the coach last year - and this team is primarily his players. I also understand A &M;s recruiting is going very well. But I have to say I was not impressed with Jimbo's coaching the last few years. But he beat us the only time we played them and we had the higher ranked team - actually that game showed how Stoops had reach his ceiling. I was at that game - he was outcoached by Jimbo!

Go Big Blue!

Folks, any coach with a solid and well respected reputation isn't going to come here to risk that reputation. Someone looking to build his own reputation is our most likely candidate. A young assistant or a successful coach at a lower division school might be willing to take the job. Head coach at UK is a risky proposition. In my earlier post I mentioned the WKU coach, I think he would be a good choice but he is likely looking for bigger fish to fry.

Stoops has reached his ceiling here ,he knows it, thus his ill fated attempt to bolt to A&M. Many here will disagree with my line of thought(and I may not be correct) but that is how I see football at UK. NIL, being in the SEC and simple geography are all working against us
