Dillingham looked good. Quick. Confident. Attacks the rimm well.
Thiero plays hard. Very versatile. Grown man.
Wagner pressed a liitle hard. Like his pull jumper in the lane.
Edwards is pressing. Just play.
Mitchell is a gift to this team. Must stay healthy.
Shep looked pretty good. Nice passes.
Burks actually impressed with his hustle and effort.
Reeves is just a dude imo.

Not bad overall. 1st half was ugly. 2nd half liitle better. Sure hope Z gets cleared very soon. Not gonna be good if they don't.

Shep looks really good especially on defense. Will get a lot of playing time.

Mitchell if he stays healthy is going to help this team a lot.

Hard to really judge this team until at least one of the big guys return. Obviously talented. Will take a few losses early on but a lot to work with. Just need to continue to play fast as they did in the second half. I don’t trust our coach so that remains to be seen.

What does the team need? Experience and rebounding. On one early run-out there were 3 of them around the basket looking to be the guy who scored. They were so inexperienced there was confusion over who was doing what inbounding the ball after made baskets. There were bumps and bobbles on hand-offs. Spacing just in general was iffy.

As for rebounding, they just weren't big enough or tall enough to match up well. The 3 7 footers need to Be Here Now.

The individuals who impressed me most were the old guys, I'm glad Reeves and Mitchell play for us.

There's another exhibition coming soon. Good.

It's worth mentioning that Mitchell scores at a high rate when he gets touches. The guard who makes sure he gets touches is Sheppard. The easy play is to get Mitchell the ball. The tough play is to make twisting, leaning, shoot-back-over-your-head drives to the basket.

People overlook the fact you stated so clearly. The freshmen have NEVER seen competition at this level. For the first several games, each will be one of the hardest games they've ever played. Devon Booker said the speed of the college game was unlike anything he'd ever faced to that point when he was a freshman. This transition is very difficult.

It’s going to be a strange season.

One of our top players is Mitchell. The dude is just so reliable from outside. What’s going to happen with his minutes when those bigs do return? I’m not sure he will be able to guard at the 4. And if he does play the 4, how many minutes does Thiero then get?

Wagner and Edwards should have us worried, to a degree. Guys as highly touted as them should dominate the guys playing for Georgetown College. The fact that they can’t beat guys off the dribble and finish against this level of competition is alarming.

Reeves looks good, but may try to do too much. He’s definitely being allowed to play through his mistakes this year.

Thiero is solid, but still has a short leash. Two times in this game he had careless turnovers (had his pocket picked from behind after a rebound and threw a bad pass) and was immediately removed each time. I don’t love this. He’s so valuable on the court and needs more leash, like Reeves (who had some awful turnovers himself).

I really hope that Wagner and Edwards figure things out because it seems like Cal is going to give them heavy minutes whether they do or not.

This is definitely a year where he just needs to have the guys on the floor who are getting the job done and giving us the best chance to win. Make everybody earn their minutes. But I highly doubt that Cal will do that.

Mitchell impresses me. Gives us the much needed stretch 4 with huge 3's when UK needed it most and saw his leadership on the court especially during a dead ball talking to Burks during the 1st half. Been impressed with Tre going back to the Canada trip.

I'm not yet confident enough to predict which of the Guards will be most productive/conducive to the team actually winning basketball games. But you’ve hit the nail on the head when it comes to stating what the important determining factor for that decision is – hint: it isn’t their projected draft position or recruiting rankings (which again is often largely a prediction of NBA draft projection).

In 2009 Syracuse lost to a DII school and ended up a 1 seed. A few years ago Duke won an exhibition by like six. They mean literally zero, anyone trying to take any negatives away from a game like this is foolish. It's a glorified scrimmage.
