Plain and simple we are pretenders. Stoops has a projected 1st round pick and a running back that may make it in the leave as a back up for a few years. He opts for the lesser talent to focus his offense around. Let the QB get in a rhythm or he will be forced to throw behind the chains all night against good teams. He’s had his first quality QB in his time here and hasn’t shown he can develop one or recruit one other than Levis. Use him as the focal point.

We either have good receivers or we don’t but don’t tell us we do and then don’t use them either. I was thinking we can run the up tempo game like UT and still run the ball like crazy. Hell UT is out rushing us in their current system.
UT, GA, USC, and Mizzou are now ahead of us. Florida so will be as well.

so where to next? People complain about Cals system being outdated and I would say Stoops’ system is also outdated.
the defenders will look at our past and say Stoops has done so much but that’s a pretty low bar to come up from. It’s time to get some kind of real offense going. People will get mad at this post because they want UK to be great, but they are not great.

Everyone wants to win, but we can’t win with this offense and recruiting at this level. Beat ever level? Yes but not top dog level. We don’t even look fired up out there. At least we don’t have a special teams coach.

I guess basketball season starts tomorrow. 🤣

Stoops is not a very good coach the wins this year has come against very weak teams. Stoops has always been overrated and they have had good recruiting years. I can understand losing to Tenn because they are a great team but this game was an embarrassment.

Yeah Mizzou hasn’t looked that good for most of the season but I was surprised at how they pretty dominated you guys…. Kinda like what you guys did to us.

At this point, Vandy is Vandy, and UGA and UT are clearly the top of the SEC East. Thankfully the Gators are still struggling, so that leaves four team to fight it out for the middle of the division. The deck will get reshuffled here in a few years when we go to 16 teams.

As for Beamer, on a personal level he seems to be a likable guy….but certainly not an elite coach. Wait a few more years for the final verdict.

Deep down I didn’t realistically expect us to win the game last night, but I didn’t expect us to get curb stomped either. Last night was the worst-coached game I’ve seen since that Vandy game.

Tn is a much more talented team. Before this game I expected us to get blown out and we did. But some of my prediction was factoring in the Stoops effect. He’s a coordinator not a head coach. He came to a program in shambles and has us in decent shape, but he’s clueless in game management and preparation.
As a program we have gone as far as Stoops can take us. I think we will start going backwards now as TN and Florida get back to what their programs have always been.

This is a good perspective. Not all of our sports teams can be big time winners. I'm a tn titans fan and honestly doubt they ever win the super bowl. They may win a dog crap division this year but fully expect them to lose at home to a good wild card team. I still watch and cheer though.

As I have said on this board many times sports are mindless entertainment and a passionate hobby for all of us. Whether the st. Louis cardinals or uk basketball win it all or lose to st. Peters or miss the playoffs has 0 impact on my life. Those are my teams that have better historical success and even then they have won 3 titles and 2 titles respectively in my life.

Unless you are a Yankees fan, Alabama football, LA lakers, patriots fan all into one you aren't gonna have consistent happiness. Hell Yankees have won 1 title the past 20 years lakers have won 6 since 2000 but sure gonna suck for a while. Same with patriots era ending and when Saban retires alabama won't win 6 titles in 15 years either.

The fact is most sports fans teams at college or pro level never win the ultimate prize. Uk football is one of those teams most likely.

The best (supposably) passer have had in years with the best quantity of good receivers in years going against a number 130 pass defense and it meant nothing. We will NEVER reach big boy status till we can move our recruiting up one more notch and get an offense that can score serious points playing to win and not to lose.
