This latest recruiting class is Greatest of all time!

And randle was the only one in that group that amounted to anything on an NBA level. (I know they made it to the championship game) Andrew staring to get it together. That class was overrated clearly. So while normally I think kwilt wears the blue blinders, I think he's correct about this class. It has the potential to be the best ever. This group won't lose 10 games.

I didn't realize that a few of our incoming players have already established themselves on the NBA level.

He bashed Cal and the players to the extreme. Guy is a fraud. Played the phony optimistic fan, then turned on them as soon as they lost in Elite 8. It was bad. I wish someone could pull it back up and show everyone what a fraud he is.

Ugh. Yeppp he sounds like the worst. He's got ballz showing back up like nothing ever happened . Did he ever address his temper tantrum ?

Not only is Greene and Alexander better than Harrow, but so is Baker.

Greatest class ever, it depends on our three or four Centers. Also, we have to win
number Nine.

Diallo
Knox
Richards
Washington
Vanderbilt
Green

All of the above are legit five star recruits (with Diallo and Knox both top 10)

Now also include:

Alexander (who is a top 30 4 star)
Baker 4 star

It's the greatest of all time bar none.

We will be preseason #1.

Book it....

I'm glad to see you being optimistic again. But didn't you say this team will never win because we will have a midget playing point guard?

That group was below average in terms of high school ranking to NBA production. If this group is simply average, they will do better. It's quite simple.

How on earth do you know how well they will perform? Those players were overrated, but we didn't know until after they played some games. These players have yet to play any games and you are already calling them NBA-level players. Can't we wait before we anoint them as all-stars?

Pretty sure SGA is a 5 star now and Green fell to a 4 star, if I'm not mistaken. Hey, @Aike help a fellow Cat fan out here. Haha.

SGA jumped to 5 star and Quade fell to 4 star with 247.

They both stayed where they were with the other services.

Most of the recruiting services have Green as a 5-star and SGA as a 4-star. As mentioned above, Rivals and ESPN have them that way.

You were probably going by 247. 247 has them reversed.

247 Composite rankings (all the rankings averaged) has Green as a 5-star at 24 and SGA as a 4-star at 29.

I like to go with the composite rankings.

We will be around 5 or so.

My opinion:

1. MSU
2. Zona
3. KU
4. UK
5. Duke

But I think the polls will have Zona at 1 and Duke above us, but I think that's the top 5 going into the season.

I like this team, it is just so young. Love the length. So versatile. I bet we see tons of different combinations on the floor. Cal can go small (Green, SGA, Diallo, Knox, Washington), he can go big (Vanderbilt, Knox, Gabriel, SKJ, Richards). He could go with a lineup of guys about the same size (Vanderbilt, Knox, Washington, Gabriel, SKJ). He can go with a traditional lineup (Green, Diallo, Knox, Washington, Richards).

Going to be fun to watch. I expect it to be a Sweet Sixteen squad, but they could do more.

First of all, I never anointed them all-stars. Secondly, if they just play to their ranking this deep class may be the best ever. The 13-14 group did not. It's that simple. Stop being so offended because I see something special in this group and believe they will play to or above their respected rankings.

You're arguing with a UNCHEAT fan.

Thinking they will play up to their rankings is different than what you were implying in your earlier posts. The twins class was projected better than this class, based off of rankings. That is all I was saying, that you can't base how well a class is off of rankings. You have to wait and actually see how good they really are.

just to clarify something...

being best recruiting class doesn't mean that we will be the best team in the nation or that our seeding will be amazing because of it.

2014 class was indeed one of the best ALL time class, they just didn't have talented experience guiding them the way to achieving the heights they achieved at the end of the year.

This year's class is great great great class, but we'll see a lot of struggle early on because it's the youngest team for Cal, i think (don't have data to back it up). I do like this class, and if they can work hard and not get beaten down by struggle early on, by season end...WATCH OUT!!!

at least i know i'll be enjoying March and April.

Yep, if you go strictly by recruiting rankings, 2014 was the top (or at least highest ranked) recruiting class in history. Andrew, Aaron, Dakari and Randle were all ranked No. 1 at their position, and Young was ranked No. 2 (plus Lee as a SIXTH five star). Four No. 1s and a No. 2 in the same class-and six five stars overall--that's insane (Wiggins was the only No. 1 we missed that year).

However, it's now clear that class was actually way overrated (especially with Dakari and Lee) and we've had others that were better. And we had a frustratingly painful regular season and ended up as an 8 seed with 11 losses that year (albeit alleviated by a final four run).

The lesson: nobody knows how a group will play together until they ...you know ...actually play together. This year's group sure looks mighty impressive on paper, but they're also really inexperienced, and inexperienced teams can stray in all sorts of directions.

This isn't UK's best class. The 2017 class was average at best. However, this is probably one of UK's most versatile classes. They'll be extremely young, so they'll struggle early. I think they'll be between a 3 and 5 seed.

If you go by their actual performance on the court as college and pro players, the best class was probably KAT, Booker, Lyles, and Ulis.

Quality over quantity.

38-1 team here. Final Four. Three lottery picks. All four are in the league and doing well.

Second is probably AD, MKG, Teague, and Wiltjer. National champs. The top two draft picks. Three first rounders. I believe Wiltjer was an All-American at Gonzaga. AD is a top 5-10 NBA player right now.

I don't see a AD or a KAT type player on this squad. I see five potential lottery picks, though (Diallo, Knox, Vanderbilt, Richards, Washington). So it could end up being the best in that regard.

Remains to be seen what they do in college and the pros. They make the Final Four, produce five first rounders, and two or three have good pro careers, then we can talk.

It's too early to tell. Many thought Noel, Goodwin, Poythress, and WCS would be right up there. Lots of hype for the Skal, Murray, Briscoe, Humphries, and Matthews class.

Love the potential of this class, though. The length is unreal. The ball skills are off the charts. We have three 6'8-6'9 guys that can handle like guards. And this is a deep class. Seven in the top 30. Seven in the top 60.

I don't really think you can compare classes based off team success in college, considering 2015 and 2012 team had experienced players return. 2014 did not (sophomore WCS and Poythress), and they still managed to get to championship game.

While i do agree that Quality over Quantity argument, there is enormous quality in 2017 class too. While there isn't AD/KAT quality player, but there is enormous amount of booker level players on this year's squad. Also, you can't be so sure either since Vanderbilt/Knox/Diallo are physical specimen that might continue to grow beyond our expectation.

AD is a once in a generation talent and KAT is top elite also. It's really not fair to compare any player to them. As for this years class, there is plenty of talent on this years team. Diallo, Knox are both lotto picks next year. And Washington is a possible lotto pick. I really like this team but in my opinion the 2018 team could be a monster team.

Yeah, I want to take this opportunity to apologize for my rant after the very tough loss to the Cheaters.

I said some things that earned me a two month ban.

I bashed Cal a bit and Monk a bit and one and done a bit.

I was quite emotionally invested in that team with Willis being a Bullitt Co boy like myself.

I thought that one ref shafted us and to lose on a buzzer beater after we had tied it with 3 straight threes in the last minute, well I lost my composure and I want to apologize to all of you I called names and picked fights with and now that I served my sentence I'm back to support my Cats and Cal.

DO we have SHOOTERS doe???? Can NEVER have enough shooters.

;)
I understand you are making fun of consistent remarks that I and others make about the importance of shooters as opposed to dunkers. My response is : Steph Curry $205 million over 5 years. Archie Goodwin, Summer league all star.

I actually have never noticed your posts before this very post. I wasn't making fun of you or anything ... just poking fun at the constant other posters who poke fun by saying" we need shooters"

Shooters are very important, I agree. Currys newest salary has nothing to do with the topic at hand though

That's why I take a wait and see approach. Hard to tell how good this class is before they ever play the game.

Also, I am not basing success solely on what they did as a team, because other classes provide support as you mentioned. I also factor in what each individual member of the class did.

Look at what KAT, Booker, Lyles, and Ulis have accomplished as individuals. Three lottery picks. That, plus they were key pieces to the 38-1 team, plus Ulis was an All-American as a Soph and then was drafted just outside the 1st round. Look at how well those guys have played in the league. KAT is a beast. Booker has been better than expected. Ulis had an outstanding rookie year. That class has delivered on every level.

I figured you might finally stop telling us how you're from Bullitt County (I think this is about the eight-thousandth time I've seen you mention it) after Willis graduated. But damned if you aren't still finding a way.

But, I am curious, when you were busy bashing Cal, Monk and our one and dones during the meltdown that earned you a two-month ban, did you bother to direct any of your ire toward Bullit County boy Wills for not playing defense? After all, Willis was the only UK player who failed to cover his man on that final possession, and that is the reason why Luke Maye was wide open for that game-winning shot.

Hey, I guess you could say that loss was all Bullit County's fault. We'd be national champs right now if it weren't for you jagoffs.
