Thiero

The same guy who said Calipari to Texas is a done deal and that Travis Perry will never play at Kentucky is chiming in. Hold your butts
Yeah, you conveniently left out my post saying he was coming to UK. Said it less than 24 hours before the announcement. Did you forget that lol. You remember everything else. But you hold on to that, Dr Google. You provide so much insight to this board.

To be honest, no doctor with a shred of credibility would weigh in on another patient’s status with out medical records. You keep digging a bigger hole with me.

lol......

So are you comparing your body to a 6'8 college basketball player? You don't see any logical problem with that.

Just stop. You can't win. Stop.
Back spasms if they persist will keep you laying flat on your back, regardless of your size. Worst damn pain I have ever had in my life, pretty comparable to my back surgery prep where they injected dye into my back for the surgery and had to pass through nerve endings in my back to inject the dye where it needed to go. You probably have never even had a damn spasm or any back issue at all (you certainly haven’t mentioned it to this point) so you actually have zero experience in what is actually being discussed but act like your some effing expert. If anyone needs to stop it’s you. You haven’t comprehended a damn thing being discussed.

Good. Put me on ignore. That’s where you are residing.

You people can't be real. If you didn't run off every common sense person, you'd probably have a much different perspective. To you, this is about firing Calipari (however convoluted way you come to such a conclusion). Classic everything is a nail scenario. And to me, none of it is even relevant in the first place.

Dude is injured. He will play when healthy. That's it.

Interesting, don’t think I ever stated a thing about firing cal, although admittedly I’m ready for him to move on. I gave you my perspective from someone who has experienced back spasms. We can only go off what we are being told and that is that back spasms are preventing him from playing and have for going on 4 weeks now. Back spasms that keep someone out this long is a severe case and definitely not a day to day situation as we have also been told. Get pissed at the UK brass and cal for saying he is day to day rather than those discussing the day to day injury that has dragged on a month now.

Remember, it's not JUST the NBA he could be resting him for. It could be playing professionally overseas, it could be as a transfer elsewhere. Not that I really think this is the reason, it IS worth noting that Cal can protect players from more than just the NBA.
He is doing a great job protecting players from playing at UK

To some degree, these argument are conflict of our personality types. I have a personality where I value facts before conclusion. I hate the idea that popular beliefs and conjecture lead to assertions made before a baseline of facts are established.

For example, @LineSkiCat14 feels very adamant that Calipari is being “too soft” on Theiro. The problem is that to even believe that it must be established that it’s Calipari not the doctors who are holding Theiro out.

So then the rebuttal is “But Theiro cheered on the sideline”. Okay, but that’s not how medical clearance works. The spasms could be a result of an underlying problem, but the fact Theiro is up and moving to exactly why he’s listed day to day.

Other people are able to believe things sans facts. Sometimes there is value to such thinking, but I feel like there is a missing chunk of realism there.
What IS a fact is that Calipari is being cagey about providing information about Thiero's status. And that always fuels speculation. And Calipari is known for being this way.

Well that's a double edged sword. Don't expect the fans to support someone who isn't "healthy enough" to play, yet is fine jumping up and down on the sidelines. We're getting close to the end of this, before fans will start to turn annoyed seeing him on the sidelines while we lose games because we desperately need rebounding and defense.

And if Cal loses games, and if he losses BIG games come tournament time, because he's being too protective of players.. then he won't have a job here much longer, and then we will get a coach he DOES value wins.

I'd say Cal needs a Final4 this year, at minimum. If he misses that because he was worried about a player having sporadic back spasms, that's going to be a problem.

So keep that same "I don't give two shits" energy when the fans sour on the team and coach this year.
"I'm not shoving him in so we can win a game."

- Cal

Am I taking crazy pills or am I the only one who remembers Thiero, who had already clearly had back problems this year (he was wearing some sort of wrap on the sidelines), taking a REALLY hard spill in the last game he played in, landing on his back? I don't seem to see anybody anywhere mentioning that.

There is so much history with Cal not telling the truth about players injuries, players status(as it pertains to the team) and any number of other issues that taking anything at face value is a mistake. Any fan here would want that to be different but we all know that isn't the case.

A season or team without drama just isn't going to happen here. UK fans are more loyal to the program than outsiders understand because they stick with UK in spite of all Cal does to drive them away.

Yes that was against Louisville on Dec 21. Today is Jan. 16 and he has been listed as day to day for over 3 weeks now.

I think we all remember it, the confusion is that was nearly a month ago and he's been listed as day to day with general soreness since. And apparently not even practicing.

Everyone here knows all that ,it is the "day to day " thing that doesn't hold water. No one believes or should believe that. Now we see all the chest bump, hip check and jumping up and down on the bench what is up with that? Hell, we had a football player get injured in the end zone celebrating a touchdown a few years ago.

It is fair game for fans to question what is going on. It is fair game to question Cal if he tell you the time of day.

Thieros back is causing chronic problems. He is doing everything he can to get back on the floor. There. Info given. Very cagey indeed. Conspiracies all about.

Alex Montgomery. I was at that game. Lol

Oh that’s the conspiracy!

Not directing that comment at you, but the type of people who think there is a great mystery afoot.

Interesting, don’t think I ever stated a thing about firing cal, although admittedly I’m ready for him to move on.

And this is what it’s about to the agenda driven on this board.

Calipari has never been forthcoming with medical info and a segment of fans with agendas act like it’s a great wrong.

Never mind that Thiero’s dad already said the problem and that ultimately no one owes you an explanation.

That’s not controversial enough and you need a shot of dopamine for likes though. All in all, the “debate” is beyond ridiculous. It’s the same ol’ pattern. Far the coach! As if the coach can make him healthy.

Cal: Admits that he lies about players injuries to protect them.

Cal just last year: Lied about Sahvir Wheeler tweaking his ankle for 2 months because Wheeler quit the team when benched. In january.

KAB Cats: WHY WOULD CAL LIE? DID YOU NOT SEE WHAT THIEROS DAD SAID ALMOST A MONTH AGO?

Well. That is all lies.
Again, didnt you get the information that we received about Adou. Are you a flat earther?

Wheeler quitting is lies? And do you want me to go find the paragraph from Cal's book where he says he lies to fans? Are you a robot? Or maybe an NPC?

Me too but some days are worse than others, I wouldn’t classify it as general soreness but there are also many different types and levels of back injuries too. His may be more on the muscle. More like spasms.

Granted I'm 43 years old but Saturday I tweaked my upper back/neck area to the point I couldn't turn left or right without pain. Still cannot tilt my head back pain free. It will last weeks. Now my lower back hurting. Guessing it is all intertwined...fun stuff. I won't be lifting for a month probably.

Yup, I have lower back problems for the last 20 years. Sometimes I’ll just step out of bed, or tie my shoes and then I can’t walk for a couple days. It sucks.

Your first sentence said it all. I’m 43 as well. At 23 I healed from stuff like that twice as fast as I do now. Sometimes these days I can’t turn my head for 4 days if I reach for a towel the wrong way. At 23 I could bungee jump and the cord give me whiplash and I’m fine the next day.

Didn't Steve Nash have back spasms while playing for the Suns? I remember him lying on his back on the floor instead of sitting on the bench during games.

Interesting that from Cal we get "general soreness" but we have to hear about the back spasms from Thiero's DAD.

Cagey, indeed.

I'll admit it. I didn't remember that. And it would seem very important to the conversation about what happened to him. Yet you're the only one I recall pointing the fall out.

At 23 I honestly never knew when I was hurt. Maybe that’s why at 52 I hurt all over 😂

Grow up man. You just twist every possible thing to show us that you hate Cal. Give it a rest, we already know. General soreness/back spasms =cagey, in your mindless world.

LOL nice try, now you're saying that we should have understood "general soreness" to mean "back spasms?" Wow, if only we had known how to translate Calspeak. I guess when you run out of silly arguments, you resort to name calling. And I need to grow up? LOL again.

I’ve had back issues throughout my life.
I can relate to yours.

I am saying that very, very few people would take those words and then proclaim, Cal lied,.
I like the concept of this board but people like you make it not worth reading. You have a passion but, not for basketball. It seems you exist to bash our team, coach and players. I do not find much worth in your posts. I want say you are sick or crazy like others have said but, something is wrong with you. And seriously what difference does it make if Adou has general soreness or back spasms? Both are keeping him from playing. Your next thread will be about Adou using our facilities to get ready for the draft. It is an endless supply of lunacy from a handful of guys , including you.

Another straw man. I never said "Cal lied." Are you even capable of constructing an intellectually honest argument? I love how you broad brush me into things I've never even said, and even predict things I haven't done yet. So now you're calling me a lunatic when I simply pointed out that Cal was being "cagey," and misrepresented what I said, but I'M the crazy one?

I could continue to point out that Cal has a long HISTORY of using doubletalk and hooded language when it comes to medical issues, but is it even worth arguing with a person who does an internet diagnosis and starts name calling when he realizes he can't even construct a rational argument? Probably not. But keep digging, name calling is definitely a no-no on this board.
