The Ukraine war. (Yes, we'll mind our manners)

Lol. TF is wrong with you?

The US funded the Mujahedeen through Pakistani secret services. It's also well known that the CIA and our special forces were on the ground training them.

Bin Laden went there with a wave of Arabs who became known as the Afghan Arabs. They fought under the Mujahedeen banner along with other foreign fighters bought and paid for by the Pakistani secret services using US funds.

Al Qaeda was formed once the Russians beat feet. Those Afghan Arabs decided to hang around and join up.

Those same Pakis took the rest of the funding and used it to pay for their madrassas where they trained tons of their own "students". They then sent them in number back to Afghanistan once the Russians retreated. There they formed their own faction and fought against the remnants of the Mujahedeen, who were by then shattered into smaller factions. Those asshole became the Taliban.

So the US not only paid for the Taliban, they also helped to form Al Qaeda.
I'm not disagreeing with what you wrote. I just wouldn't say Al Qaeda sprang from the Mujahedeen as if they were bad guys in this. I don't think they were.

Looks like Israel is getting in on the act now. They have moved into Southern Syria and established a buffer zone around the buffer zone that fronts the Golan Heights. We are watching Syria get divided up in real time folks. History making stuff.

It's funny that you think Assad just started killing people for no reason. Like everything was fine.... we wanted to build a pipeline through Syria and all the sudden Assad just started murking people. Weird timing huh. And if Assad was so bad then how come he had the largest Christian population left in the middle east? Why were there so many ethnic minorities living in peace for so long? One pipeline and all that is done. It's like you didn't know that starting war was going to end up in the death of tons of people. Shocker.
Defending Assad, wow. I guess nothing is off the table for you loon.

Hey, did those other 4 sources I gave you, to prove we funded and trained ISIS, persuade you are you still going to deny we had anything to do with them getting started?
Point me to your post. I didn't see it and I do want to see what you posted.

Look, the simple fact with these folks is that if anything (ANYTHING) bad happens
in the whole damn world, it’s because the US f@cked it up.

These folk are more intellectually strained, and more message-focused than the Marxist professors and students with whom I argued/debated in College in the 1980’s. I had always hoped that the young Left-Wing students grew out of their desire to spew Soviet horsesh!t, but I think they just got older and now spew Putin’s horsesh!t under the banner of Alt. thinking.

At least those twisted folk of the 80’s had a “legitimate” world-socialist view backed by the philosophy of Marx and Engels. That the near-worthless philosophies of Marx and Engels were then being cynically exploited by traditional Russian expansionism made no more difference to them, than Putin’s fraudulent use of Christianity and “conservative” mores has averted the sad following of current Western “Alt” thinkers, today.

My essential thinking then and now is consistent: if the US is so evil, so friggin’ miserable, just haul your ass to Russia, China, Iran and waive their flag from within. See how long those hellholes appeal to you, and then try to get the f@ck back out of them. Tens-of-thousands of American “fellow travelers” “escaped” to Stalin’s wonderland between 1925 and 1935, most ending up shot or in the Gulag system before WWII.

Serious questions... Do you believe Iraq had weapons of mass destruction? Did removing Khadafi stabilize north Africa? Was the US Navy attacked in Gulf of Tonkin to start our involvement in Vietnam? Is the Middle East more safe now than it was before the first Gulf War?

The world has been, is, and has long been a cluster-f@ck. For each of your questions, the potentialities of our non-involvement look at least as bad as our involvement or worse.

An unchecked Vietnam/China might have looked further in Indo-China without US involvement in Viet Nam.

And the likes of Khadafi, Assad and Saddam Hussein were certainly no stabilizing influences in their regions . . . . Their very existence was the cause of our and international problems for decades.

Hell, maybe we blew up The Maine in 1898, (isn’t that the latest Alt theory?) but I’ll bet my bottom dollar the people of the Philippines have lived better for our decades long commitment to fighting their Commie and Muslim radicals, and then the Japs.

Hey, maybe we can agree on just how badly the Russians f@cked up Syria, by letting that nice Assad regime collapse, creating instability in the region. Had Russia not had such a heavy investment in Ukraine, they could have saved their beloved Assad regime, but have wasted 3 years, 600,000 casualties and billions trying to take out a Ukrainian-Jewish President they claim is a Nazi.

OK. so you aren't going to answer but instead pretend to be smarter than anyone who has a different opinion than you. For instance... You skipped right past "were we attacked at Gulf of Tonkin?" to just go to the point that we should have been involved anyway... You seem OK the US government lied us into a war and left with the commies still in control. So, nothing changed but we lost a generation of young men, and it was all predicated on a lie. This isn't some "alt theory". The government admits they lied about it. There were sailors on the boat that came out as well. You accuse us of being commies yet we left commies in control in Vietnam. We left commies in control in Cuba. We left the Taliban in control of Afghanistan and we have just ISIS back in control of Syria.... but yea... the cost of doing nothing might be worse.. LOL

Ok, just a comment with regards to your hyperbole. Vietnam was a terrible and wasteful war. Whether we should have been there is open to debate but there's no need to make over the top comments. Don't even try to say I'm minimizing the soldiers we lost. I'm not. However saying things like "we lost a generation of young men" is not even close to accurate. Using very rough numbers, we lost 59,000 men in that war. The decade of births from 1946-1956 would have produced the overwhelming majority of those soldiers and roughly 18 million men were born in that time period. Thats about .3% or 3 in 1000. Thats far too many but hardly a lost generation.

You asked me to respond to something a few posts back. Link it for me and I'll try to answer.
