The Ukraine war. (Yes, we'll mind our manners)

Not every LB is against the war. Kinda hilarious you say this. Most are against taxpayers paying for the aid. But fully support Ukraine's right to defend their homes from russian invasion.

''Expansion'' haha, what an idiot.

Well here’s Joe Biden claiming he’s the man who expanded NATO.

I assume runninrichie knows more than the president of the United States and all his advisors.

The best articulation of the anti-war reasoning comes from professors Mearsheimer and Sachs, both of whom aren't MAGA. Sachs in particular is pretty damn hardcore anti-Trump.
“Some of his claims include the "US dispatching an Army General to assume de-facto command of the Ukrainian Army".[68] In an article for Newsweek, Sacks argued that continued military support for Ukraine could lead to “Woke War III”.[69] Sacks' posts on X are often countered by the platform's Community Notes, which he believes are subject to being "gamed by the Ukrainian info war op" against him.“

Jeffrey Sachs and David Sacks aren't the same person. The former is an economics professor, the latter an entrepreneur.

They are both right on the war.

What the war hawks aren't saying... Ukr has lost over a dozen towns the last couple weeks. They just want to focus on the one or 2 wins Ukr got. Just ignore Ukr losing 1000 soldiers per day, Ukr General confirmed, I just don't understand how people think this way. It's like everyone is Afghanistan to them and we can just run through their country and never have it involve us here at home and none of the dead people actually exist....

Ukr lost the last "fortress city" this week. Didn't make a single news article.

Oh, more putin propaganda I guess

Ever heard of retaliatory killings? You might have heard of them in WW2. When Germans would slaughter American POWs, the Americans would do it back. Same for the Japanese. They would fake surrender. So eventually they just shot all the POWs.

On 17 June 2024, the Ukrainian military received information that soldiers from a Russian unit in the Volnovakha district of Donetsk Oblast had ordered their subordinates not to take Ukrainian soldiers prisoner, but to behead them instead.

While carrying out aerial reconnaissance at a combat position in Donetsk Oblast, Ukrainian forces spotted a damaged armoured vehicle belonging to the Ukrainian defence forces. The severed head of a Ukrainian defender was lying on top of it.

“The logic is very straightforward: the killing of defenceless [Ukrainian] military personnel is intended to prevent Russians from themselves surrendering to the Ukrainian army on the basis that if [Russians] are doing this to them, the Ukrainians will do the same to you if you give up. Therefore, don’t surrender to them, rather kill yourself.

''The numbers documented in the latest article of the Economist reporting on the Russian losses in Ukraine in the last two years are staggering. They have exceeded all losses the Soviet Union and the Russian Federation experienced from 1945 to 2022, combined. Somewhere between 462,000 and 728,000 of Russian soldiers have been permanently eliminated, basically confirming the numbers Ukrainian forces have been reporting all along.

You can also see from that chart that the numbers of destroyed Russian militants has increased, significantly, over the past months, especially in connection with the failed Kharkiv incursion. It confirms what I was suspecting for a while. Russia is trying to brute-force a decision on the battlefield, respectively, is trying to project that it is making progress on the ground and lie to the public that Russia is winning the war. Though a few gains have been made on the ground, they all have been tiny. In some cases such as the Kharkiv incursion, they have been even partially reversed.

Strategically seen the Russian offensives have been all but a string of failures. The attrition rate of Russian human material and hardware is not sustainable on the long run. The situation of the Russian armor and the reserves have recently also been part of the debate. Depending on the analysts, Russian reserves of armor will last between 18 and 36 months, but it will end in a foreseeable future.

The Ukrainian drone campaign against Russian oil facilities and other high value targets in Russia might expedite Russia's downfall. It is a thorn in Russia's side, which many still don't take notice of enough.

Summarizing the paragraphs above, it appears that the Kremlin considers this year to be the make-or-break period. The Russian reserves are not enough to sustain a prolonged war, beyond the next 2 or 3 years. It is coming to on end, one way or another, so more than ever Russian cannon fodder has to be thrown into the fire. Putin needs to convince or more specifically bluff that Russia is winning, now more than ever, but numbers are not lying and Russia is failing by virtually every metric.

This is why Russians are investing so much to install their puppets in Western leadership positions and hope that they stop the war for them. This concerted effort by Russia will accelerate in the coming months. If Russians fail in doing so or their puppets do not turn out being this good, especially after realizing that long-term precautions have been taken to mitigate those risks, it will have a dramatic impact on the Russian war effort.

Europe and especially Germany are holding the keys for Russia's end. It is up to their determination to steer into the right direction, even without the US. The economic capacities are available even today.''

You just gave the game away again, moron. You think that if anyone questions your narrative they support russia. How is it this difficult for you to get off this mindset? No one is pro Russian...read the last line, now read it again, now one more time

Let me know how you're still confused.

"It was wrong for the red army to rape entire German towns women in ww2"

You’re pro-russia everytime you spout their talking points, and actively say you support cutting aid to Ukraine. Which give Russia opportunities to lob missles at children’s hospitals. When US aid stops flowing.

You’ve never been very smart, but this is a new low.

Quoting the nyt = putin talking points

Citing US intelligence agencies = pro Russian

Have you ever considered how one dimensional you are?

You've twisted if someone thinks not funding an unwinnable war for Ukraine for eternity bc you believe putin wont take over all of Europe (bc he wont) is a valid point into yeah you love putin.

Get a dictionary down, look up the word = nuance

It's a scary world for you bub. Your fun game or taking different discussions but lumping them into it's all just an either/or binary...im not sure if it's impressive or beyond remedial

Be nice if we took measure to limit the number of children being blown apart or suffocating under piles of rubble.

Whether children in Ukraine, Gaza or Russia, none of them deserve it.

Unfortunately the warhawks keep pushing for measures that prolong and escalate the violence, rather than stopping it.

Putin isn’t negotiating any peace deal without taking land. Ukraine has said they aren’t negotiating if it involved giving up land. Yet, the “pro-life” guys want to cut off aid. And let Ukrainian cities get blown apart by Russian bombs. Truly the kings of morality.

Obama, confirmed MAGA and putin puppet I guess. It's almost like once a talking point is set ppl just believe they should go with it...

What a free thinker you are, patriot. Retweeting a guy on Ukraine’s list, for promoting Russian propaganda. And a guy who’s promoted the “biolabs” in ukraine theory. Such a free thinker!

Could it be you also see a viewpoint you agree with, and follow it no matter what? No, not you! Not a freethinking patriot like yourself…

And yet again. No one thinks Putin will beat NATO and the US. But he will try to invade. And that will force US and NATO blood to be spilled. But keep saying you actually support peace, by cutting off Ukrainian aid. Letting children’s hospitals be blown up. And Ukrainians be subject to Russian plundering. All the while, china looks on. Eyeing a move on Taiwan. And America’s reputation for standing, for a rules based world hegemony crumbles. Emboldening dictators everywhere. Such a patriot.

We are already giving them shitloads of aid and Ukrainian cities, and children, are being blown apart by Russian bombs.

Ukraine can’t win this war.

So we either put American boots on the ground and start blowing up Russian cities and children, or we acknowledge there needs to be a negotiated peace, and that may involve Ukraine never entering NATO and Russia keeping some of the land they e decimated.

Laughably uninformed and just frankly, stupid, take. Look at what I posted earlier.
You pro-russia guys still have this outdated notion, Russia is some beastly millitary power. And before you say ''BUT DONT YOU THINK THEYLL TAKE OVER EUROPE''. No, but they will try to invade the former USSR states. And while they won't succeed. It will still spark a massive war. If they're allowed to succeed in Ukraine.

Russia has been mauled in Ukraine. They've lost at least 120,000 KIA. Not even counting wounded. Their armor is almost gone.
