The truth hurts

Speaking only about athletically, yes . Heck there are plenty of guys in the NBA less athletic than Willis . Probably every title Duke has won had some players less athletic than Willis . I'm talking about physical abilities like running and jumping . What are you talking about?
And strength. And no, Willis is not a front court NBA athlete. He also is a bit slow and lacks the necessary ball handling to play back court in NBA. Willis can be a solid sec player.

Remember if he does play well, he will draw the toughest front court defender. That could reverse this silly euphoria really fast.

Reading comprehension lesson: you just agreed with me. And Willis is that guy!

Wall, cousins, Noel, Bledsoe, Davis, Gilchrist and on and on and on were 4 year players? Not only do I have a reading comprehension problem, I can't count. They were only here 1 year, but your infinite wisdom says 4.

Best players often are NOT 4 year players. Doh!

Let me simplify: of course we want the one-and-dones. Of course. OF COURSE.

I said WILLIS is he kind of kid we ask/want/whatever Cal to recruit...and come off the BENCH. He's Kentucky-bred, 4 year player, knows the system, and can add a boost from the 4 with his 3 point shooting. Next year, I predict he will play that supporting role with our upcoming super-class.

Surely...SURELY you didn't think I was saying we want Willis level instead of 5 star. Cmon man.

I was responding to what you wrote. My mind reading skills are rather distance limited. Given your clarification, we are in agreement.

If I were coach. I would work the lazy and timidness out of them. If they quit the team, then they quit. You cnanot play this caliber of schedule and be lazy

See, I'm not trying to convince anyone Willis sucks. That's just you running out of comebacks,
You spent an entire paragraph marginalizing Willis. You're delusional if you think you aren't hating on Willis. An actual fan may would likely choose to encourage our players instead of tearing them down. Particularly when they are clearly improving. You really suck as a fan.

I'm only responding to this to say I'm not responding to this as you've clearly demonstrated you lack the skill to read the response. if some actually disparaged Willis, your head would explode.

So, you're just getting attention. Got it. Btw, our fans shouldn't be disparaging any of our players.

Yes we are. And for the record, I accept the blame for the confusion and my ouchy response. You and I are Blue Blood Family.

Dang Charlie, how did that work out for you in 1962?

What will you call them? The thin 5?

I agree OP. We have a front line of role players playing a starter role.
I agree totally with what you are saying. The one thing I don't understand is why coach refuses to play Hump or Wynard in some of these games to just see what would happen. I would like to see them both play together for a short period of time. I don't see why cal makes a big deal of not playing them. he thought enough of them to offer a scholarship. cal has been very bull headed this year and turned out to be his worse year yet at UK.

People sometimes seem to judge solely based upon one game. Poy plays great against Bama and everyone concludes he should start. He stinks in his next game, he should be on the bench. Willis' defense almost cost us against Ole Miss and did against LSU, now he plays great comparative to the other front line against Auburn and everyone wants to promote him. I will admit with this team it is hard to find the answers. My view, despite improvements from Briscoe is our 3 guard line up still has to go. Lee, Poy, and Willis/Skal/Wynyard together with Murray and Ulis, and then you sub Briscoe for Ulis and Hawkins or someone else for Murray. It just seems with our rebounding and board work, the 3 guard line-up (despite those 3 being our best players) is problematic.

I'll add that we all know the front line is the issue, so to add support to our weakness means we should play 3 front court players together, not two.
We did not lose the LSU because of Willis. GTFO with crap.
