Maybe, but we keep playing scared in the first half, like we're the underdogs. I'm not sure if that's on cal or the players.

That's exactly why he is a hall of fame coach with numerous final fours and number 8 for us and you are on here posting. This team reminds me a lot of Brandon Knight's freshman year, they have talent, but no players to fill certain roles and are definitely a work in progress.
skal is a work in progress but is not put in a position to succeed. he isnt a back to the basket player and is never going to be one. need to change the offense. less ulis and briscoe with the ball. more murray and skal

You are the one who should shut up. It is obvious that OSU was relaxed and UK players were overly stressed from the nonstop yelling during the games. You can't play this game well if you are forced to overthink. There is a reason why Skal is playing worse with each passing game and it isn't because he can't play the game. Cal is trying to turn a thoroughbred into a "back-to-the-basket mule."
Yeah it's obviously Coach Calipari, I definitely believe that whhs22 has a better take on the kids that Cal sees every day than... Cal.
We have a freshmen heavy team with freshmen who are more like actual freshmen instead of the man children we had in Cousins or Davis. Call me if the team still looks this lost in March and we can talk. Until then get over yourself and keep this Chicken Little crap to yourself.

While you are at it, add this game to the worst performance by players and coach of the year.
I love Calipari, but I somewhat agree. I think he needs to ditch the dribble drive with this bunch. I think this team needs to be squared up in position and ready to shoot with a purpose without hesitation. I think the constant harping on driving the ball messes with a shooters psyche.
I think Cal is a good coach, but I don't think his very aggressive coaching is for everyone. Some folks react to yelling favorably and some not so much.

I kinda of think Cal thought this team would benefit from the new rule changes. The problem is the new rule changes seem to be subjective between officiating crews. So we just have opposing teams packing in the middle and Cal continually yelling to drive the ball. Which results in us trying to drive the ball and running into multiple defenders who are allowed to play physical down low.
This is a unique team with a lot of different skill sets. Cal is going have to get creative in trying to figure out how to capitalize on our skill sets. Our offense has not looked sharp since the Duke game.

He's forcing them to drive into traffic every possession. Won't let them shoot threes. Murray started playing his way in the second half and look how great the offense looked in the last 8 minutes.

Agreed. Skal MIGHT be a much better player if he was allowed to play his natural position and stop the experiment of him being a back to the basket player. It's beyond idiotic, IMO. I honestly believe the kid might thrive if allowed to play the way he's played all his life.
Sometimes you have to simply admit that something isn't going to work out; I think this is obviously one of those times.

Yes, cal sucks. You have to be kidding me. This is one of if not the greatest run in UK history. I wouldn't won't anyone else on our bench.
Cal is obviously one helluva recruiter but, I'm starting to wonder how good he is at getting the most from his guys after they get here. Also, he relies very heavily on having superior talent to win games. He has actually said this on occasion. Meaning, building a team approach will always take a back seat to getting the best talent.
We used to make fun of Dean Smith at UNC and Ole Roy at Kansas for always having the best talent but, never producing results. Well, Cal has taken a team to 4 out of the last 5 Final Fours and has 1 Championship to show for it and how many years have we had the #1 recruiting class? Championships are hard to win...I get that. Plus, no way am I saying "Farrrrr Cal!" as some are sure to suggest. But, if it took having a once in a lifetime player like Anthony Davis to push Cal over the line for a Championship then, he may very well never win another one.

I don't mind constructive criticism of Cal but this is ridiculous. What was the problem before that guy came? That was just last week.
Starting to wonder how good he is at getting the most from his players? Really? I'm sorry but this is absolutely absurd. What do you expect? You expect these freshman to come in and just automatically be world beaters? Before Cal came here, we didn't expect much of anything from freshman because in the normal world, it takes freshman a year or so to even get going and start producing. Since Cal is so damn good at getting the most out of his players the fastest, fans like you have been spoiled. We are 11 games into the season, if you are expecting those freshman to be more than what they are then you are not being realistic, nor are you being fair to those kids. Add that to the fact that we have NO inside scoring presence and you have what we have up to this point. But to say you question how good he is at getting the most out of his players is just ridiculous.
I'll gladly answer that question for you..... He is the absolute best in the business. Just go back and look at his prior teams and it speaks for itself.

Knight was pushed around Soft. Wasn't a true PG. kanter out season is doomed if we have to rely on jorts. Miller is not a beast. He is a upperclassmen that disappears. To we should have won the whole damn thing
MKG outta control Teague trying to hard. Teague sucks. Davis bites on head fakes. Tjones something wrong with him. Miller still Miller.
KAT should come off the bench. Foul prone Booker sucks. Booker is great. Booker sucks again. Ulis should start. This team almost lost to buffalo ole miss. Too many egos. Platoon sucks platoon won us games. Where are the cats from Bahamas To we should have won the whole damn thing.
Without Skal eligible we suck. Skal is next Davis/ camby Recruiting sucks to we got a baller in Murray. Ulis time to shine. True PG. guard heavy lineup. We can shoot. To Skal sucks. Project player. Briscoe can't shoot.
At the end of the day our guards are very talented. They will get it. Guards win in March Gives us time
To get bigs involved. We are just venting blah blah blah. Enjoy the ride.
