Like who? Memphis? UCLA?

Grazonga usually does a good job of scheduling OOC but I felt like it was a weaker effort than usual from those guys with the exception of @ Arizona, which of course they totally gagged.

-Thought it was scheduled for pregame?

-Not a hug fan of the piping around the letters, prefer all one color(blue). Dig the rest. Anything to dull down those ridiculous checkers.

-Don't forget Briscoe is in the mix, so if a big guard is giving Tyler fits. Boom, bring in a big NYC kid to mean mug a bitch.

-I'm just glad Geese is finally going to like a UK team in 16. Good for that guy. About time, been a real struggle to like these guys lately.

* They shoulda/coulda/woulda beaten Arizona.
* You can't count their many NCAA flops against them. It's not fair :(
* Went ridiculously out of their way to justify their "big" wins. "Well, they beat a St. Johns team who beat Seton Hall who blahblahblah...". And then my favorite- "They're the only team who beat UCLA at Pauley this year!!!"

Look, in a normal year, yeah, they may be a 1-seed. But this isn't a normal year. There are 6 teams with strong claims, and you know what- you need a better GD win than St. Johns or Georgia. And YES, I, as a guy wanting the four best, most deserving teams on that first line, do take into account history. We all saw how good that Wisky team was last year in March- same team. They really wanted Duke on that second line over Gonzaga- with road dubbs against Wisky, Louisville and Virginia!
Couldn't agree more. It's time that Gonzaga stop getting the benefit of the doubt. Their schedule is simply not strong enough to merit a 1 seed. If they had beaten Arizona, then yes. But, they lost, period, end of story.

My reasoning for Aaron/Booker is simply b/c we could potentially lack scoring next season. Hell, it seems hard enough sometimes THIS year:

Here are our probable returnees/newcomers:

Dakari
Pee
Willis
Poythress
Hawkins
Matthews
Skal
Briscoe

...umm, with the exception of Briscoe and maybe Skal with time, those guys will ALL likely struggle to score on their own. Brutally. Add Newman, and that's a little different.

Aaron/Booker on the wings give you 2 premier scoring threats. Pair them w/ Briscoe at the 1, that's a pretty nasty 1-3, with plenty of size to matchup with 98% of college teams.

-Ask me tomorrow, and I'd say Ulis/Booker ----> I have zero doubts they'd be my favorite backcourt of all time if given a year to be the primary guys. Like Geese, I'm already depressed that the chance of that happening is pretty slim.

Each and every year I throw a little hissy fit when Nike does their little...

OOooooo FEAST YOUR EYES ON THESE NEW PREMIUM SUPER EXCLUSIVE HYPER THREADS DESIGNED AND MANUFACTURED SPECIFICALLY WITH CHAMPION FLYKNIT CHARACTERISTICS FOR YOUR CHAMPIONSHIP CALIBER BALL CLUB.

*rolls out some generic lookin bs that everybody who's anybody wears*

* Fish sambo, onion rings and veggie soup from Frisch's for lunch.

Frisch's tartar sass might be the world's best condiment.

* Have not shoveled my driveway. My neighbor cleared it off for me with his snow blower after the original blast, but I haven't had time to clear off the additional snow since then. Hopefully, Marge doesn't have any trouble getting her Prius through the frozen tundra.

* Tubby should be next.

Next player should be Wall or Davis. 1 and done be damned.

Bogans has the stats, but doesn't feel deserving. I've flip flopped on that over the past few years.

* I want Gonzaga to be our #2. I know they'll be out west, but I'd love it.

I'd rather not play Wisky, but touch it. Bring 'em on. I ain't skeered of nobody.

I'd love for the Hoosiers to be our 8/9 game.

* Cheese & Mushroom pizza, a few beers and some combo of Justified, Americans and Saul on tap for tonight.

After playing Little People Disney Princesses and Frozen characters go to the zoo and fight Captain Hook for the 5th night in a row, of course.

* Currently reading Stephen King's Revival. Really getting interesting in the last third.

Pretty remarkable just how difficult it has been for Cal to sign a bigtime scoring SF. Dude's been aces at every other position. Even Young was more a 2G. MKG was a SF, but a do-it-all utility type more so than a scoring wing. Thing is- it seems Cal's style would be ideal for such a player.

Man, haven't been this excited since the B McKnight/Lamb backcourt in that obscure 2011 year.

Eek.

Louisville had a higher TV rating than Charlotte for Duke/UNC, and the 3rd highest rating nationwide after Raleigh & Greensboro.

Just more proof that rivalry isn't anywhere near the life/death situation as it is here on a state/local level.

IMO, if you're a 1st Team AP AA, your jersey should be in the rafters. That doesn't mean you MUST have that but it does mean IF you have that, you should be up there.

So, that would mean:

Ron Mercer
DeMarcus Cousins
John Wall
Anthony Davis

Others you'd have to consider for career achievements but were not 1st Team AP AA:

Tayshaun Prince
Keith Bogans

-My thoughts are if Twins bounce, which they will, Newman is ours. Also think we'll add at least a couple more players around that. Hopefully a capable scoring big. Then Johnson has to get a little better in there.

* I forgot about Prince. He is probably deserving.

What about Turpin?

* Pope, the fact that you don't like Frisch's tartar sass or Horrible Bosses 2 moves them both up a rung, IMO.

HB2 was definitely not a classic by any means, but it was entertaining enough.

FTS is out of your league. Stick to bottled rubs and gas station finger foods, ok Emeril?

* I really like the Harrison Bros, but you pretty much have to take Useless and Bricker, right?

Those 2 are just special.

Xavier Henry
Shabazz
Wiggins

...and I assume Jaylen Brown, have never felt like we were in there with him despite what he says. (hope I'm wrong, but doubt it)

Who am I forgetting.

- Can't believe we were thisclose to having Blackmon AND Booker this year.

- Duke/UNC is a better rivalry than UK-Louisville. It features two Top 5 programs. They've played longer. It is more even. It is the better rivalry.

Agree, and it's the most entertaining. Almost never fails to deliver.

It's not the most intense or important, though -- not on the level of Bama/Auburn of UK/Louisville where it's a 365 day per year topic. If you lived in Kentucky, you'd get it.

Tartar sauce and gin are two things I will never understand. I find both horrid.

Prefer malt vinegar on a nice fried piece of fish.

I'd like to think UK/UL is the better rivalry, but - frankly - UL hasn't been competitive enough with us. We owned that series even in the lean years.

* My car has power windows, locks, AND a sunroof.

(hail damage, too, but that is neither here nor there)

143,000 miles and still purring like a kitten. Not bad for $6k.

* Speaking of cars, nice front page article in the USA Today this morning: Americans now have $855 billion in car debt, and the average new car term is $33,000 (purchase price), 4.5%, 5.5 years.

eek.r191677.gif

NOT having a car payment --> very, very awesome.

* CoolCat hasn't taken enough heat over the Wiltjer hate. At the time of his transfer, ole boy insisted we'd be fine, as Willis would step right into his outside-shooting-big-man role seamlessly. Yeah, no.

* I'm all for setting a very high bar for admission into Hall of Fame-type groups (of which the retired jersey in the rafters is one), but you do that at risk of alienating some of your all-time greats. Is Keith Bogans worthy of a retired jersey in the rafters?? I don't think so. Same with Wayne Turner. But those guys are all-time Kentucky greats, and should be duly recognized in some way. I know we make fun of the Carolina family nonsense, but that's not a bad rap to have.

* I can't recall, because I was drinking pops at the time, but Tom Crean called a timeout in order to set up that "Hero Ball" deep 3 by Yogi Ferrell, no? Thank god.
ohwell.r191677.gif

* In Shreveport last night, and I didn't realize it until right before the show --> Black Mike's boy Jason Aldean was in town. It's funny how easy it is to tell. I'm sitting in the lobby of the Courtyard, and there's just a buzz in the air. Rednecks teens/20-somethings all over. Lots of short skirts and boots. You could just tell something was up. And it was. That dude puts on a good show.

* Freaking uncanny...

I'm not saying you guys are wrong in your pining for Xavier as the 8/9 seed game (because you're not) but I'd be willing to use up any and all banked good karma I have to prevent that from happening. I'm already sick of getting asked that question and the bracket doesn't even exist yet.

Bogans is the 4th leading scorer in UK history. If that doesn't merit hanging his jersey in the rafters, I don't know what does.

Would be cool to see a Ullis & Booker primary backcourt next year. The offensive flow would be nice.

*Part* of me says the reason Ullis can play the way he does definsively all up in a player's lap is because he's playing with house money as far as fouls are concerned.

He and Andrew compliment each other so well. Not going to be popular with the demented and angry portion of our fanbase but in the last five games #5 has averaged 12 pts, 4 assists, 89 ft %, and 7/17 from the three.

love Prince & Bogans, great players who through no fault of their own were on a team turmoil messy season. but they didnt get UK to a F4.

Tubby
then Anthony Davis
then Ron Mercer
then....Cal? (
confused0024.r191677.gif
)

imo fwiw

He & I tag-teamed Ticketmaster yesterday morning at 10am for the Yum presale...got 4 tix in club for his May 8th show w/ Cole Swindell & Tyler Farr. It took us 40 minutes of trying from multiple devices with multiple codes before we finally got something that wasn't 300 level ZZ. Ticketmaster is such bullshit, and Aldean sells out so fast it's unbelievable.

Lassie's chance for redemption. Hopefully I don't have to carry her out w/ usher assistance & put her in a wheelchair to take her to the cab, like last time. She hasn't been able to listen to Aldean since then b/c she starts crying -- the most embarrassing/uncharacteristic moment of her entire life....by FAR.

She was so excited that day she didn't know what to do with herself. I mean, she PASSED OUT, COLD, in the stadium...before Aldean even took the stage.

Duh.

Whoops, this is easier..

Think a TYLER & DEVIN primary backcourt would thrive next year with JOHN letting them play 30 plus minutes a piece.
