No way Bamba would go to Texas with no chance of winning. On the flip side, maybe he was waiting for Allen to go pro. I don't think so, as he seemed excited at the possibility of playing with him. Either way, if he goes to Texas with Allen gone they will stink again so I hope he goes there if he doesn't choose UK.

No player is going to say "I want to play with X!" When Fox signed he said he'd love to play with Ullis, but I garuntee Cal told him Ullis wasn't coming back.

These top guys, more than anything else, want PT to showcase their talents to NBA scouts. There are rare exceptions like MKG who want to win, but for the most part these guys want a stage. I don't think this hurts Texas's chances, but I also don't believe in the Texas hype. I think it's smoke to get UK fans even more excited when he announces.

With 3 centers on the depth chart there's a much slimmer chance of him playing the 5 at UK.

Now if Bam comes back then he would probably play the 5. But Cal also preaches positionless basketball so there's that.

Only way he goes to Texas now is if he truly has a special bond with Smart and feels like he needs to save his job, because Shaka is DONE if he doesn't land Bamba... They'll have another losing season and might still have one even with Bamba.

It's a tough call for me. I really want Bamba. He's been hyped as being an elite rim protector and efficient scorer. Something we haven't had since Davis (Noel could block but his offense was very limited).

On the other hand Bamba is unproven against college competition and we saw how that worked out with Skal. Bam is proven and that's valuable. Plus he can improve. I honestly don't know which I want more.

If bam was really concerned about playing the 5 this past yr I'm sure we would of heard about it. Regardless, it won't hurt either player if they play the 4 or the 5. If bam were to return he would start at the five if it means we get bamba. Bam will have opportunities during the season to play some at the 4 given the bigs we already have, besides that when he gets drafted in 2018 he can easily be converted to his natural position at the four. Whether bamba likes it or not teams in the NBA aren't going to draft him to play the four with the exception of a few his a 5 all day in the NBA

He will play almost exclusively at the 5 anywhere period. He has zero PF game . Richards has more PF game then bamba and he has very little . bamba is all center . That has nothing to do with where he ends up. I think we get him but he might play a total of 10 minutes all season at the 4 as we are loaded there with PJ , Gabriel and SKJ . Hell we can go small and play Vanderbilt at the 4. Bamba and Richards will split time at center about 50/50 and Hump will get a few minutes as well.

Bam and Bamba aren't playing together but if they did Bam would be the PF on offense as he at least can dribble well for someone his size and can drain a 15 footer decently. Bamba is not a PF in college at all. Now on D I could easily see Bamba guard the 4 .
