We have had better crowds for most (all?) Spring Blue/White games. This is worse than Joker’s last home game!

I don’t believe I would have posted that video if I was them.
Late arriving crowd, the parking lot is packed with pre-gamers that haven’t came in yet. At least 100 people
I would’ve at least replaced the “Game time!” with “Game time?” to make it look like people were confused on what time it started.
USC and UCLA really screwed up west coast football. It’s messed up that Stanford is in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Without regional rivalries, the games are less exciting and it should be no surprise when attendance and interest falls off at west coast schools.
And harkening back to U of L’s Jurich era, maybe it was a Jewish holiday, and that knocked attendance in the head.
A story circulating about the Vandy QB is when he registered for classes he wanted online classes, and was told Vandy didn't do online classes.
USC & UCLA did what was best for them: More $$$. Schools do it all the time. Stanford & Cal should have stayed in their west coast lane PAC12.

Conference realignment, in most cases, makes no sense at all. It's great that USC may play OSU or MI in the regular season. Was there anyone anywhere that was pining for Rutgers vs UCLA? Or, in this case, Stanford vs VPI? No history, no rivalry, nowhere near geographically - why? I know it's all about the money. But, ultimately, isn't it fans that fill the coffers? If nationwide interest in CFB wanes significantly, then TV money will start to dry up. I'm sure that Stanford game was on TV somewhere. I'm guessing the advertisers on that broadcast got almost nothing from their dollars. If that continues, they'll quit spending those dollars.
Stanford among many other mega rich universities is why money and resources doesn’t always equal dominance in sports.
They are one of the wealthiest Universities with one of the wealthiest alumni bases in the world. Big endowment and no telling how much they get in royalties from all the inventions, patents, IP that comes out of there.
It’s why I’ve never bought “ oh the rich will dominate college sports if this or that…”
Not really…the mega rich schools don’t really dominate in anything…revenue sports anyway.

Stanford, in general, just sucks at drawing crowds. The announced attendance at the game was 36,277. Last year, the announced attendance for their home games against good teams:
#9 Oregon - 32,160
#5 Washington - 24,380
#18 Notre Dame - 30,901
I thought the same thing, just thought it was funny that he expected them. Probably not in Vandy's recruiting pitch.

Perhaps attendance will pick up later in the year for the Battle of the Cardinals: 11/18, Louisville at Stanford.

There’s 300ish D1 programs, about 40-50ish big “P5” programs that want to compete and spend on sports at a high level.
Which is why we’re seeing an evolution towards a professional structure.
The big mistake NCAA and everyone else made was thinking all 300ish programs were the same. Clearly not. Hell there’s an obvious difference and separation occurring at the upper tier P4 level.
Tried to fit everyone under the same umbrella when really there’s probably several different groups within that 300 and only about 40-50 them can be in BCS/professional big time sports market league.
Don’t know what to tell everyone else but they’re going to have to figure it out.
Stanford doesn't draw well for football. Even when they had big home games against teams like Oregon and SC, they do not come close to filling their stadium.
