Stoops running the ball to eat up the clock down 38?????

He’s been here 10 years, now. He is what he is & he could coach here another 20 years & I doubt we’d look much different. In both philosophy & results. He’s never going to embrace offensive football enough to play for championships. He has hit his ceiling, here. He’s a good recruiter & is solid in defensive player development. He deserves a ton of credit for program building, too. He’s done a great job getting us to this point, from where he started. It wasnt an easy job & I’m eternally grateful for it. This is probably the best roster of my lifetime.

But, his middle school-level, offensive approach & chickenshit mentality limits our potential & will never see a championship game, of any kind. Coaching scared will never win anything. His game preparation, clock management & in game decision making are horrendous. I, honestly, don’t want to sound unappreciative bc I realize how rare 7-10 win seasons were, before him. But, I want to play for championships & at least feel like we have a shot to do that, occasionally. And, I just can’t see it happening, with him.

Despite our record against UT the last 4-5 seasons, we had the better program. Or, we won more games, at least. But, one coaching hire & TWO YEARS later & they have left us sitting. This is year 10 & at this point Stoops isn’t gonna suddenly turn into Nick Saban or grow a pair. It doesn’t, or shouldn’t, take two decades to build a team that can at least contend for a division championship. He’ll win 7-9 games most seasons, which is great, considering our history. But, if we want to play for championships or even play in meaningful late season games, we’ll just be spinning our wheels with Stoops & delaying the process of actually taking that next step. I hope he proves me wrong & makes me look stupid. But, I SERIOUSLY doubt anything changes.
As long as he is coach here and Heupel is down there, we will never beat them again.

That's what is so frustrating with the style Stoops wants. When we get down more than 2 scores the game is basically over. UT runs an offense that can get down early(which they rarely do) and still has the ability to come back because of their style of offense.

With almost all of the rules in the game of football now geared toward the offense, WHY would the coach at UK play the way we do while watching how successful ALL of the Big Time programs are running a WIDE OPEN scheme on offense?????!!!!
It was a great philosophy when we were at a severe talent disparity. Slow the game down, play conservative, and play not to lose. If you can keep it close, you might be able to steal a win or two against the team better than you. If not maybe you don't get blown out as bad and build off the moral victory m

Unfortunately Stoops has fell in love with that style and cannot let it go. He's an extremely stubborn person when it comes to his philosophy of football and until he really hits rock bottom, I doubt he's going to change.
