Stoops running the ball to eat up the clock down 38?????

I’m truly here just to see what you guys thought, not to stir anything. The common ground here is that we are both ready for this to be over. Nothing else to be proved here.

I have no problem with that.
I don't understand why the starting qb and offensive line are in there doing it.
Should've emptied the bench.
Its like they want another South Carolina to happen.

The only chance at a win or competitive game was a shootout. Stoopid chose the TOP bull shit. Get an offensive mind in here or deal with this shit..

Seemed to me that the second TD drive they had broke our spirit. i Would never have believed that they could have such a long sustained drive relying on the run against our defense.

Actually, I don't think we would stand a chance in a shootout. I think they needed to control the ball and keep UT's offense off the field while scoring ourselves. We could maybe win a 30 - 35 point game game, but can't win a 45 point game. The offense did absolutely nothing. I don't know if it game plan or lack of O line talent that is limiting what we do. In either case, our offense didn't show up at all so we had no chance.

I think we are short on talent and depth at OL but our OC does nothing to hide those deficincies.

Blame the AD. The UT Administration supports NIL, buying players through alumni, and doing anything to support football in Knoxville. Their expectations are to win every game. Until your AD is 100% bought in on NIL nothing will improve. 6-6 7-5, 8-4 gets you fired at real football schools.

If we don't run the clock out, we lose by more. It was a tactical decision.
Who gives two shits about the final margin. I want the truth not the lie. I want to see the real margin ... I want the fans to see the real margin. I want the fans to see that this guy is "at best" a mediocre coach with no imagination. He will lose this fanbase unless he at least "competes". It's not in him ... I just don't believe it. He's in over his head. No imagination too predictable. Likes to crow and talk but can't deliver and has the same old tired lines in the post-game. He should not be a head coach, IMO, but here he is ... at UK, not because he's a good coach but because he had the right last name. This job just became more precious to him tonight b/c no one else would hire him after being exposed so badly.

The UT administration supports more than NIL considering those 18 level 1 violations under multiple coaches they have added up

Just trying to get out of the stadium in one piece.
Bingo. Game was lost by mid-third Q if not with TN’s final TD in 1st half. At that point, trying to run clock to get out of there with no injuries and the score not getting more embarrassing than it was rightly became the objective.

Have to give it up to florida yesterday, down 28-3 at half came back to within 28-20 before georgia pulled away again. Would have loved to have seen that kind of fight in our boys last night, but instead were treated to a shanked punt, 2 turnovers and 6 total yards of offense in the 3rd quarter.

That's what is so frustrating with the style Stoops wants. When we get down more than 2 scores the game is basically over. UT runs an offense that can get down early(which they rarely do) and still has the ability to come back because of their style of offense.

With almost all of the rules in the game of football now geared toward the offense, WHY would the coach at UK play the way we do while watching how successful ALL of the Big Time programs are running a WIDE OPEN scheme on offense?????!!!!

The clearing turning in my mind was that INT inside the UT 10-yd when we down 20-6. Score there and it’s hopefully 20-13 with at least a faint chance of making it an interesting and competitive game.

The game was effectively over when they went up 27-6 right before the half.

It was over at kickoff
I didn’t realistically expect us to beat you guys last night, but I did expect us to compete and make it an interesting game.

We hung around for the first quarter, but it was obvious midway through the 2nd Qtr that you guys were pulling away. That sequence I described in my previous post was our last best chance to at least get back in the game and we know what happened.

Not going to wish you good luck against UGA, but I will be honest and say you guys have a great team.

I'm not so sure it is a talent issue so much as a coaching issue. A combination of lost experience and staff turnover are really biting us.

All the more reason we need a new AD who is in line with what’s going on in the NIL era. His old school bullshit doesn’t work anymore. Time for him to step aside.

He coaches with a losers mentality. Never makes adjustments. His offensive game plan is so predictable that grade school defensive coordinators could stop him. Got to quit playing to not lose and instead play to win. We might win 1 more game this season.
He’s been here 10 years, now. He is what he is & he could coach here another 20 years & I doubt we’d look much different. In both philosophy & results. He’s never going to embrace offensive football enough to play for championships. He has hit his ceiling, here. He’s a good recruiter & is solid in defensive player development. He deserves a ton of credit for program building, too. He’s done a great job getting us to this point, from where he started. It wasnt an easy job & I’m eternally grateful for it. This is probably the best roster of my lifetime.

But, his middle school-level, offensive approach & chickenshit mentality limits our potential & will never see a championship game, of any kind. Coaching scared will never win anything. His game preparation, clock management & in game decision making are horrendous. I, honestly, don’t want to sound unappreciative bc I realize how rare 7-10 win seasons were, before him. But, I want to play for championships & at least feel like we have a shot to do that, occasionally. And, I just can’t see it happening, with him.

Despite our record against UT the last 4-5 seasons, we had the better program. Or, we won more games, at least. But, one coaching hire & TWO YEARS later & they have left us sitting. This is year 10 & at this point Stoops isn’t gonna suddenly turn into Nick Saban or grow a pair. It doesn’t, or shouldn’t, take two decades to build a team that can at least contend for a division championship. He’ll win 7-9 games most seasons, which is great, considering our history. But, if we want to play for championships or even play in meaningful late season games, we’ll just be spinning our wheels with Stoops & delaying the process of actually taking that next step. I hope he proves me wrong & makes me look stupid. But, I SERIOUSLY doubt anything changes.
