Stock Advice Thread

Followup on this Malaysian company (no stock movement so far this morning during a big down day in the US market), I’m up 49% on it, started accumulating May 13th, their eps report came out last night: https://finance.yahoo.com/news/top-glove-posts-366-jump-104936127.html
I’m going to watch it simmer, would love for it to continue going up slowly each day, I don’t want big speculators in there buying it, and they better watch raising one use glove prices too much, Americans look for alternatives!

It would be an amazing play if you time it right.

I think I lost a year’s worth of salary today.

Don't know much about mortgages.

I would ask, "Why do they need this influx of money that the IPO will bring?" "Why right now in the middle of turmoil?"

Will the money be used to expand and garner more share of the industry or is it to shore up upcoming shortfalls?

I don't know, but maybe they're are positioning to become too big to fail and will essentially be insured by the gov.

I am sweeping a portion of today's profits to my rainy day fund. Dropping from a 70/30 split to 65/35. If the market continues to rise weekly then at some point I will adjust to 60/40 until the next bull market. Then buy back in at 70/30. Agree? Disagree? Why?
I kept listening to people talking of a correction. My thanks to those of you beating that drum as that advice looks good today.

I sold all of my energy stocks on Tuesday afternoon and my energy ETFs on Wednesday afternoon bring my total portfolio to 50/50. I left most in cash and put some into bonds. That helped to minimize today's damage to a 3.6% loss.

I've been skimming profits recently......selling off some stuff and freeing up cash. I'll be really watching for smart buys.

-Made a nice >100% profit on Camtek.....long term profit
-And also made a couple >30% (short term) flips that are just a month or two old in Pfizer, Delta, Southwest.....

Starting to sell off my glove company holding, TGLVY, correcting and you can now buy disposable gloves through Amazon. Still my top holding as they can and are raising prices.

Rumor has it that Apple is getting their own chips up and running.......going to dissolve the partnership with Intel......

....If Apple starts to do well in the chip market, that'll certainly further expand their moat and give them a lot more revenue.

More articles that because of state revenue needs, 2021 could be THE year for US legalization.

I feel that there's a really good chance that the next POTUS will legalize at the fed level.......or almost certainly the following POTUS.

Legalization is the biggest catalyst for sure. As is, Illinois is a huge market in itself. Maybe 2nd only to California in terms of states that are legal. The stocks themselves are truly grim death outside just a few names. Many more might be penny stocks for a long time to come or until consolidation and more of the medicinal products take hold.

Yes, indeed, too many pieces of pie for me to buy Canadian stocks, IIPR AND GTBIF two US cannabis I hold a little of, plus STZ, financier of CGC and supplier to many US drinkers!

Transitioning to 40/60. The more I read about the current market the colder my feet get.

Did that today after last night’s elections. Literally all momentum going for Biden, IMHO, hate to admit it but gave me my best reason to sell half positions on my best, but high PE stocks like NVDA, ADBE, etc. So what to buy? Toes in water even more for cannabis, online medicaid insurance plans, green energy. Holding my nose as I bought some of them, guess I need solar, what’s the choice there? What other stocks do you buy with Democrats in control? Gee.

Maybe Chinese companies. Biden would probably look to roll back tariffs and play a little nicer.

I think Trump is going to win, though. Still 5 months to election. If there are debates Biden will really struggle IMO. Will be hard for some to vote for him even though they might dislike Trump.

Please excuse the political lapse. These are just my opinions so don't @me.

Me either, but think we have to as investors. Frankly, I favor him but he’s not likable (who likes braggarts?) and that’s what, unfortunately, is most important to swing voters. Hell, Biden may even win sympathy votes after the debates. I’m not so sure the Democrats would play nice to the Chinese, but would to Europe and really most allies angry at Trump. They might roll back the tariffs as a swipe at Republicans, though. Just guessing.
