It has a lot to do with the Gilead drug news. Early results are promising in helping people recover in Chicago.
The last two weeks in the stock market seemingly have gone better than deserved, a lot of partial recovery of some high PE stocks that I hoped would go down further.I remember back when there was massive selling instead of buying in the last hour of trading. I sold the rest of my DVY position today during this time.
I hear ya. I'm happy to profit but what might have been. The last two weeks in the stock market seemingly have gone better than deserved, a lot of partial recovery of some high PE stocks that I hoped would go down further.

Disney is still a deal and will probably go lower again. All of their parks are closed. ESPN is struggling for content.Pretty pissed I didn't by 1000 shares of Disney at 93

May 5 is their earnings call. Probably won't dwell on Q2 and move on to how Q3 will be. (Not great) You'll get another chance at it under 100.
Absolutely. I try not to sell so waiting 5 to 10 to 20 years is what gets the returns, usually.I think you are really going to have to be patient on that one.
That chance looks like it will come this week. Hovering around $100 right now. I expect it to go lower with the news that Disney is furloughing 100k workers.Disney is still a deal and will probably go lower again. All of their parks are closed. ESPN is struggling for content.

Yes, plus nobody dare giving forward guidance. You have to wonder what a down day tomorrow or 3 straight days, does to sentiment now. Smack dab in the middle of earnings season.
Exactly. Could be no news is good news or just a trading range as some have predicted. Guess I'll be buying and selling more with the latter.Yes, plus nobody dare giving forward guidance.
I have managed my own 401k mutual fund portfolio for years. Now that I am retired I have more time to study the market.
Last week I made my first ever individual stock purchase. I invested 3% of my portfolio evenly across 5 energy stocks. As of today I am down .2%. Let's see how this plays out.

I agree. This is a long play, not day trading.I think you’ll make a nice profit but it’ll take a while. It might take a year......or three.....to really start to turn major profits.
Can’t wait to hear what else you’re getting into.
Tech doesn’t excite you or you have more knowledge in the energy area?I agree. This is a long play, not day trading.
I have been watching energy get slaughtered and it caught my interest based on the old blood in the water/buy when others are selling theories. I am more optimistic than most about the long term impact of COVID-19 and I think energy will improve when this mess clears and economies start moving. It strikes me as a good long term opportunity. Do you have some Tech interests that you could share? I am certainly open to learning.Tech doesn’t excite you or you have more knowledge in the energy area?

It seems like there are only two outcomes. Why did I buy? Why didn't I buy more? You got the best one. ;-)I bought some Chevron on 4/1 at $69 and it's up 30% since then. My only regret is that I didn't buy more.
I try not to trade them, buy the best of the best when I catch them down (literally never for some)-with zero commissions, you can accumulate small numbers of shares of ADBE MSFT NVDA, AMZN NFLX but wait for a drop, KEYS I like in 5G. Lots of bargains out there in fintech such as MA or V.I have been watching energy get slaughtered and it caught my interest based on the old blood in the water/buy when others are selling theories. Exactly, those medical stocks have made their run unless an investor has great medical company knowledge.Sold some DXCM up 75% in a month. Not buying anything now but fixed income in my IRA but I still have very low limit orders if we happen to take out the recent lows.
A true bottom fisher, and a good one, love how you and jameslee do your own thing! My VIAC is up 48% since purchase a few weeks ago. HBI up 33%.
Life is good.
Good luck, and may the market bring you much profit over the coming months.
