Starting QB vs the Vols to be determined……

UT has been struggling on offense this year, I look for them to break out of their slump and look really good Saturday. And we have been a good team to jump start the other team’s offense. I hope I’m wrong but I have a feeling that GW gets the start and Stoops tries to run clock to get the game over with as soon as possible.
Regardless of which QB starts/plays Saturday, CMS will try to run the ball, run the clock, keep the score respectable, and hopefully get out of Knoxville with a 28-6 loss.

Meanwhile, on defense, even though teams have stymied Niko E-I-E-I-O by blitzing him and pressuring him to force him to throw the ball while on the move, BW and CMS will play their same old prevent defense and use the excuse that DBs are injured while never pressuring the QB until we are down 3-4 scores.

Also, our defense has shown no ability to stop the run, and UT'S RBs and running game are legit.

Huepel can simply line up and run the ball down our throat if he chooses to, and there will not be a darn thing we can do to stop them.

I really believe Huepel will use the first half to try and get Niko and the passing game tuned up, then run our nose in the ground the second half.

Huepel HATES the Stoops boys. He will hang a 70 on us if he can. Stoops can only try to keep the ball away from UT.

How sad.

Yeah, UK with 5 defensive starters out, could give up 400 rushing yards Sat. What UK needs is 4 18-play scoring drives that'll take 10 minutes off the clock each. Do that and eliminate effing mistakes and maybe they get lucky. TN could've been riding a 3 game losing streak coming into this game but thanks to the horseshoe firmly wedged up their ass and a few friendly whistles that didn't happen. Their balloon will burst one day, I doubt UK has the needle to make it happen.

I was thinking along the same way, but they will try to get Niko’s confidence back up by picking our prevent defense apart. Bend don’t Break is great when you have a defense that tightens up around the 20, who knows what our defense does this Saturday. I would love to see them make UT kick some FG’s.

What's the reason Huepel hates the Stoops brothers?

Young UK LBs/DBs have to grow a pair and make plays, no doubt about it...they'll be a key. Noah Matthews/Tyreese Fearbry have GOT to become a force in this game. All the film study/walk thru are over...go play football, time those guys earned their keep.

If GW starts the head coach and OC should be fired after the first offensive snap of the game.
I’m excited to see what we roll out there this Saturday, I think we have some good young players that should get some valuable experience the next 4 games. If GW does start and takes us down the field for a score, I will definitely be surprised and I think the HC and OC would be as well along with Tennessee, the announcers and both teams fans.

Bob Stoops made him the scapegoat of a bad season ( by Oklahoma standards) at Oklahoma and fired him.
Mike Stoops was DC, I believe, and Huepel was OC, and the Stoops boys had to have a fall guy for a bad season in Norman.

Sound familiar??

Ready to watch some young players, but I'm not looking forward to a GW start, he couldn't throw a football into the ocean if he were standing on the beach at high tide. I've watched UK football since the early 60's when Jerry Wollum was throwing the ball to Tom Hutchinson and I can't remember being more disappointed in a season outcome than the current one. I truly believed we were in for a good season despite the schedule(oh well so much for that)

Kudos to you for being able to still be excited watching this train wreck.

I am considering doing he same
After reading what Stoops said today, I think we are going to line up and try to pound the football down the field. We are going to do what we do best and that is run block, granted it isn’t fabulous blocking but better then our pass protection. I will surf the channel on breaks but I will watch most all of the game, I can’t help it, I’m a creature of habit.

That's what's needed. Would love to see Wilcox with 18 or so carries.

A lot of this which QB will start is probably just to force TN to prepare for both. I'd be shocked if Brock didn't start.

The fact Stoops thinks this is the way to go confirms to me that it’s not. When was the last good, impactful decision he made for this team? This ain’t it. He’s grasping at straws. It’s honestly kind of pitiful.
