Smoke was a really fast runner who was generally misused running up the middle. He was not a #1 back but if used properly he could have helped us win some games by getting him outside or used on special plays utilizing his speed. We just used him as a back up and ran the same plays.Probably beat OM if not for him dropping a screen pass that he could have walked in for a TD. Only had 7 carries after CRod came back. I was actually surprised he didn't leave last year, as the coaches obviously lost confidence in him.
Because that would be the worst RB depth chart in all P5 football. Probably a lot of G5 RB rooms would be more talented in 2023.Why not?
I just don’t agree. Was it jacked up? Yeah. They didn’t have normal season prep and some people here or there had to sit for testing even though by then we knew there werent risks for that age group but they still got in 10 games and they were all sec games. If somebody only got to play a couple of games or something I get it for that player. They should get the extra year regardless. That season was effed. Also, a lot of players got less than a half season. Not fair to count that as a season. But, if the Big Ten guys get a pass because they only played 50%, then the SEC players should get one, too, for 70%, etc.
He has terrible hands .
Isn't Jefferson 215-220ish?Because none of them have the physicality to pick up tough yards in a grind it out football game . Jefferson is coming off a major knee injury and McClain and Wright have been injured for a lot of their time here . You CANNOT have just 3 running backs that weigh about 200lbs to start a football season in the SEC .
Yea that's a big no there! Yea I'm not seeing that in any way shape or form. There is literally no way anyone can logically believe that either!Because that would be the worst RB depth chart in all P5 football. Probably a lot of G5 RB rooms would be more talented in 2023.
You just never know with injuries. Sometimes the injury is healed but it takes awhile for the player to trust it .Isn't Jefferson 215-220ish?
And I wasnt referring to only have three they're just going to take 95% of the reps!
With the way players have been coming back from injury recently in the NFL and college I don't necessarily see his injury being a negative unless he is majorly behind schedule.
The 2020 season was essentially a glorified exhibition season.
Oh I’d say there’s zero chance of that .Then he is probably in trouble if he is looking to get to NFL.
Kycat85 posted about it at 9:37am yesterday. Your post was after his.Well it wasn't when I posted it!
Totally agree. We need a big time transfer or at the least a big time HS guy to be the primary guy. We usually need about four ready at the least anyway. So the big time guy, the rebuilt guy, McClain and Wright would be four. Would not mind one more that is fast so if one or two go down. No more CR, we could have more injuries than used to at RB.Count me as 1 who hopes we don't plan part of our 2023 running game on a 6th yr 1-aa guy with a rebuilt knee
When I posted there was zero post about it on the 1st page of this forum,Kycat85 posted about it at 9:37am yesterday. Your post was after his.
Are you referring to their post on HOB that's not on this forum? That's on another forum that has a paywall?Kycat85 posted about it at 9:37am yesterday. Your post was after his.
Smoke was used incorrectly in my mind. He was more an outside the tackles scat back than an inside the tackles bruiser. It didn't help he had a bit of fumbleitis, and a strong breeze could knock him down. Still, he played hard, and that's all you can ask of a kid. I enjoyed watching his runs, and I hope he lands at a place that can use him.People from his area talk about what a great kid he is. He has mostly been a role player for UK. He isn't a great fit physically for UK, but in an offense that uses their backs out of the backfield in the passing game he could be a very productive back. His speed would make him a tough matchup for mld
Still think he and Chris Lewis may join Sumrall at Troy. That's just a guess BTW.Smoke was used incorrectly in my mind. For anyone that was at the Louisville game did he get skipped over on senior day?
