Ever notice how EVERY single player from every school who either re-opens their recruitment or enters the transfer portal uses this phrase? I just find it funny for some reason. It’s like they all bought the same template or something.

Because its all pr written by some agent or a team of people. All the wording is there intended to leave the door open for a return if they cant find more money or snaps elsewhere.

I hate that everybody uses that phrase. It's so cliche and unnecessary. Just say "however" or some such thing. And while I'm on the subject, I hate when people use the word "like" over and over again. I was like blah blah blah, and then he was like blah blah blah.
With that being said, I agree with the OP.

All the flowery language is just sanitized BS. Just make it simple: I've decided to pursue other opportunities that will allow me to grow and develop into the best player and person I can be. The end. All this 'love for the BBN', 'never forget my time at UK', 'having said that', etc. - BS. Just pull the Bandaid off and be done already.

We had a history teacher that used to say the phrase "what happens was that" over and over again, so much so that my buddy and I started charting them with marks on our folder. Then it grew to where we looked forward to coming to class just for that and would start reacting/celebrating in certain ways when she did it. Til one day we got a little out of hand on a reaction and she came over and confronted us on what was so "exciting" and got busted when she saw all the marks up and down our folders like a prison wall
