Just found out a few moments ago that Keith Jackson has passed away. He had more than his share of cliches, but I always (ok usually) enjoyed listening to him.

Thanks also for your service to our country and may you Rest In Peace.

Never made the game about him, just a pure unselfish love for what he was doing.

Prior to turning on the BCS Title Game between Texas and USC, the thought occurred to me that Jackson would be calling the game, and I blurted out, "Oh, Nellie, the Eyes of Texas are upon you."

Five minutes later, I flip the TV on, and hear the exact same words from Keith Jackson.

He is/was the GOAT.

Keith Jackson was one of the reasons that I watched college football in the mid 80's through early 90's. As a kid, I looked forward to every game he called. To me, he will always be the voice of college football. We lost a great one!

Keith Jackson had it. The voice, knew the players names and a little bit about each of them. He just called great games, no one was better in Football or anyone I admired anymore. RIP Keith Jackson and Thank You!

Whatever the BIG game was on Saturday, that's where you would hear Jackson.
