Living here in Memphis what I've gathered is Skals handler did inquire about getting cash to help with Skals development.
He was more or less testing the waters but never took anything or even was offered. At some point he then just put up walls around Skal and kept everyone out.
Not sure it's against ncaa rules to inquire. Cal is smart and knows Memphis. The best thing this handler did was remove Skal from the slime that is Memphis HS basketball and all of its predators.
Really think Cal and UK probably concealed this guy early and basically said disappear with Skal until his SN year is over. Keep everyone away so there will be no issues once he signs. We already new a investigation would happen. The best thing that could of happened was that Skal just go off the grid a year ago. And that's what happened. So in my opinion steps were taken a year ago to ensure he would be eligible.
