I'll support the guy but this reeks of hiring my buddy to run a business I don't own rather than trying to get the best out there.
people complaining about it don't know the full story and I think he'll do fine here. Hurley and Donovan could have both turned down the job even with 11 million a year.

I wouldn’t pay Drew more than 4 or 5 mil a year max. He’s simply not half the coach as what we should be getting

We gotta realize some of the top coaches are happy where they are. Hell, I'm sure Hurley hearing Rick all those times saying he never should've left UK might be in the back of his mind as we speak. UConn is Hurley's Kentucky and Donovan probably wants nothing to do with year-long recruiting and portal nonsense coupled with worrying about NIL money for athletes.

No one is lying about offering Hurley. He was offered an embarrassingly low offer of 11 million per year so he said **** no. UK should have offered at least 15 million per year with bonuses.
The guy won a Championship at BAYLOR!!! Imagine what he could do here with the resources offered to him…..
