The fact he’s sticking around and finishing classes this semester is a sign he at least takes his education seriously. He obviously won’t stay long enough to earn a degree but can certainly get down the road towards one he can finish in the NBA off seasons. If it’s true he’s enrolled in summer and fall classes I take that as a good sign.

If there was an underlying agreement in place for all parties to stick with a certain narrative regardless of how things play out in the end, then Sharpe finishing out this semester and being signed up for future classes is just a necessary PR step in support of the narrative. We'll likely never know the truth about if Sharpe's NBA eligibility was already known or the real reason he didn't play this year.

Inversely as well. Lots of "fans" popped up in January and February whenever we lost but weren't around for any of our wins.
If you really are a UK fan, it’s your own fault that myself and others don’t believe it. I’m not the only one that thinks you’re a troll. That’s blatantly obvious.
I doubt he wants to leave Kentucky in bad shape. Maybe he turns it around for a season then bails after that. I think he knows his best coaching is behind him.
That's the thing they weren’t frequent posters so I'd have to go back and see.
Think about the run from Dec through early Feb. That first loss to LSU you had people coming out of the woodwork condemning the team, posters that weren't around whenever we won.
You'd bring up the fact we were down Wheeler and TyTy and they'd continue talking negative about the team.
They showed their heads when we lost to Auburn as well.
You'd see it on KSR with anonymous posters.
Edit: I think one poster had a blue icon or his background was blue and I'd confuse him with @Wildcats1st .

Someone could argue this to mean without Wheeler or TYTY we have nothing but based on his comment history I didn't read it that way.
He also said we suck when we were blowing that lead to Vandy when the result, imo, was never in doubt.
You can click on his username and just skim through his messages. He seemed to barely post and usually only around losses. The fact that he deleted his account could also be telling.
To me there's a difference being offering constructive criticism and being negative. This guy came across as purposely negative just to rile up fans or split the fanbase.
There were many others like this but he came first to mind. I'd have to do a report to find all of them. Currently working on one that could be finished in a week.

The best example I can give you, is Alabama fans. No football program has had a run like they have had since Saban got there. What's he have, 6 titles at Bama alone? Just won a title 2 years ago. Nick Saban had to address fan anger during last season. Apparently a large portion of the Alabama fanbase wasn’t happy with the margin of victory… .over SEC opponents no less. They went to the title game… .again.
Fans are gonna fan and everyone has their breaking point.
I think we're alright, especially when you realize UK fans have eaten shit sandwich after shit sandwich since the 2015 Final 4.
If you thought it was bad last season, that loss to SP caused more damage than most realize. Nobody, but Cal's biggest fans, trust him, or believe in him now.
We have no shot at a title WITH those 2 players.
Anyone that can lose the way Cal did in 2010 and 2015 with the top end talent and depth those teams had, isn't very good at game prep or game management.
The way he lost in '18, '19 and '22 is just more proof.
Unless there's an unforeseen NBA lockout that brings Tyty and Grady back to UK to join SS and Oscar, it ain't happening. This guy is a clown.

Cal can shamelessly stay and collect the $$$ while BBN turns against him even more, or he can salvage his legacy and pursue another job. We’ll know within a week what he chooses to do. I’m leaning towards the latter.

You and other posters are critical which is fine but the guy I referenced wasn't critical, they were outright negative just to be negative. They'd usually only show up if we loss just to crow and would rarely be around otherwise.
For example, it would be like a Mavericks fan complaining they lost yesterday and saying the team sucks. Luka is out and they still almost beat the Jazz.
This guy was trashing UK after the loss to LSU when we almost beat them without our two best guards. Again, I think he was just trying to stir stuff up.

Put them at 90%, a historic number, and they'd still be under KU.

You brought up the guy that started the thread about top 25 opponents, well, I mean, that poster isn’t wrong. Our record against power 5 opponents the last 5 years is pretty pathetic for a program like UK. That’s just power 5 opponents, not top 25 teams, that record is even worse.
Then, the fact UK hasn’t beaten a power 5 opponent in the NCAAT since the 2017 sweet 16, is even worse.
It’s the off season, nothing is going on, our last game was the worst NCAAT loss in program history and that's after the worst season in program history where the coach chastised the fans all year.

Though the P5 argument seems like something to complain about. Yes it sucks but it just seems like an arbitrary stat. If PJ makes those FT, we beat KS State.
We also beat Houston in 2019, a 3 seed that had 30+ wins and are soon to be in the B12.
Though the loss to Auburn, especially towards the end of the 2H and OT is on Cal just like our failure v SP.
Throw in the fact the 2019-2020 tourney was canceled and it makes the past 5 years feel much worse than it should.

Those things we both listed, should not be happening at UK with Cal driving the bus. He has every tool at his disposal and a lifetime contract.
He is the one that chose to roll with a new, young team every year and he is the one that decides to take the air out of the ball every game.
Yeah, PJ missed free throws in the KSU game, but it never should have come down to that. KSU only played their best player for a few minutes. They didn't need him to beat us.
2010 was a huge coaching blunder, so was the wiscy loss and the 2019 loss to Auburn.
That’s bad enough, but the way Cal managed 2021 and 2022 was just salt in the wounds.
Then, the asshole had the gall to call out the fans and call us 'basketball bennies' while he's going 9-16. I don't care if he was coaching at Alaska tech, fans won't like that.
The bad news and shit sandwiches just keep piling up and Cal blames everyone but himself, then skips out on his last call-in show.
There is no fanbase that would just let that stuff go and the power 5 and top 25 stats, are just more things to toss on the heap, they're real, I know you don't think they're worthy talking points, but when you call yourself 'THE GOLD STANDARD', you have to own the negative backlash.
