Anyone got their predictions for SEC standings this year? I think UGA/Bama/Tx in some order at the top but don’t feel strong about who is right after them. I guess Vandy will be last again.

I think Ole Miss and Mizzou are the favorites to challenge the Bigs, I would put Tennessee in there too except they think they already are a Big.😄 A&M will be over-rated and underperform as usual. The CATS have enough talent, experience and depth to make some serious noise. Other then that I look for more business as usual..

Ya I think I like OM and Mizzou over Tenn too. Kind of sucks the way Mizzou’s nerd coach has them rolling. Tennessee I’ll believe the QB hype when I see it. There are way more hyped up young QBs than actual good ones.

That’s what happens when you have NIL cash. Their state legislature enacted a law that puts their NIL on advantage over schools from other states for Missouri HS players and their fans have ponied up.

You’re right and it’s helped them get some good in-state guys. But they’ve also got some good out of state guys so maybe just generally deep pockets.

From reports, their fans/boosters have really stepped up and are speculated to be top third in SEC in NIL bag size.

No idea, but Texas seems to have gotten a very manageable schedule for 2024 and 2025. Oklahoma seems to have gotten a very difficult one though.

I'd say uga or Texas win it with my random guess of the day.

Depending on what ranking you look at mizz as the easiest schedule, then it is Tex, Tenn, and Ole Miss. 3 of top teams have the easiest schedules

With 16 teams and an 8 game schedule there won't be clear separation -- a lot of teams with tied records.

As far as I know the SEC still hasn't announced how it will break ties for the championship game if it is necessary. With no divisions and a 12 team CFP what is the point of a championship game anyway? Why not rest your starters if you are about to begin a 12 team playoff?

I agree I see some serous food fights on the horizon with picking two teams with say 11-1 records where A beat B, B beat C and C beat A.
or there were no head to heads, or team A finished 10-2 but beat team B that finished 11-1 but had an easier schedule. A championship game is a really stupid idea and just made for money. And if you have a team like Georgia with a 12-0 record, what do they have to gain by playing in a game like that?

Georgia has to be the favorite. After them, almost anything could happen. This year should be it for Napier.

I think the 4 best teams are OM, TX, Bama and UGA. I think the next group is UK, UT, LSU and OU. Third group Miz, AU, ATM, UF, SC and the 3 worst are Vandy, Arky and State.

I don't know which team in that first group makes the playoff, but despite me thinking Miz is bottom half team I think their schedule gives them a very good chance of playing for SEC championship. They would have had a hard time picking an 8 game conference schedule.

I agree on Napier, UF fans are expecting a floor of 8 wins, just don't see that happening. I also think Pittman is gone at Arkansas, surprised he wasn't let go at end of 23. Beamer needs to get to a bowl, but I see 8 losses. Lea at Vandy was likely gone if not an alumni. So normal SEC year, 2-4 new coaches for 25. CMS is now the Sr SEC head coach.

Arky was the most hard-luck team I've ever seen last year. They lost to Bama by 3, LSU by 3, MSU by 4, Ole Miss by 7 and BYU by 7
I actually think PIttman is a pretty good coach and you would think the law of averages would catch up with them pretty soon.

I'd put Mizzou at least in your 2nd group SEC. They're coming off a terrific 11-2 season beating Ohio State in the Cotton Bowl. Return QB Brady Cook. Good defense. But replacing Cody Schrader will be tough.

They may deserve ti be there, but their offense resulted from S having to commit to stopping the run leaving the CB in man coverage. I may be wrong but I thought they lost a good bit defensively. They did beat OSU, who played without Marvin Harrison Jr. and their QB. Those are pretty big abscesses. Then add in the fact OSU wasn't excited about being there. I think they reach SEC championship game because of their schedule, 11-1 should be a given All 4 that I had in top group could have 2 losses and I think all 4 beat Missouri, but only one gets the chance. Just an opinion, not claiming that's how it goes

I only expect us to beat V & SC. I fully expect us to lose to GA & TX & most likely at OM. The other three are winnable but two are on road. Net I see 3-5 wins, most likely 3 with the 3rd being FL or AU. JMO.
